Cursed was a very fitting title for the 2005 werewolf movie that reteamed Scream director Wes Craven with screenwriter Kevin Williamson, because studio meddling ensured that the project – which had a promising start – ended up being a mess that bombed at the box office. The journey to the screen began in the year 2000, when Williamson wrote a script about a New York-based serial killer who discovers he’s a werewolf. Dimension decided to have Sean Hood and Tony Gayton do rewrites, turning Cursed into the story of a late night TV associate producer who gets attacked by a werewolf after a car crash on Mulholland Drive. Days before Craven was set to go into production on Pulse, a remake of the Japanese horror film Kairo, Dimension pulled him off that project (it ended up being the feature directorial debut of music video director Jim Sonzero) and threw him onto Cursed, which...

A new episode of the Awfully Good Horror Movies video series has just been released, and in this one we’re taking a look at a movie that was supposed to be a happy reunion for Scream director Wes Craven and screenwriter Kevin Williamson… but it turned into a total mess. It’s the 2005 werewolf movie Cursed (watch it Here), and you can hear all about it by watching the video embedded above!
Craven and Williamson told the following story with this one: In Los Angeles, siblings Ellie and Jimmy come across an accident on Mulholland Drive. As they try to help the woman caught in the wreckage, a ferocious creature attacks them, devouring the woman and scratching the terrified siblings. They slowly discover that the creature was a werewolf and that they have fallen victim to a deadly curse. Now that they have been sliced by the werewolf’s claws,...

The 1999 coming-of-age comedy "American Pie" was a massive hit when it was released in 1999. Starring a who's-who of upcoming teen talent, "American Pie" delved deeply into the more embarrassing sexual details of being an adolescent boy in the modern day. There were scenes involving bodily fluids, oral sex, and multiple references to creative masturbation. While the bulk of the film -- written by Mike Herz and directed by Paul Weisz -- prided itself on aggressive raunchiness, it wisely ended on a sweet note, allowing the characters to realize that despite having had sex, they still have a lot to look forward to on their journey of growing up.
For a while in the early 2000s, Jason Biggs, Alyson Hannigan, Mena Suvari, Shannon Elizabeth, Seann William Scott, Thomas Ian Nicholas, and Natasha Lyonne were household names largely because of the "American Pie" movies. To date, the series has made $990 million.

All Jack Frost Films Ever Made(Photo Credit –IMDb)
Santa Claus is and will always be the face of Yuletide. He’s an old, polite, white-bearded man who gives everyone gifts; what’s not to love there? So, it is safe to say no one can replace the good old Santa Claus. However, there are some Christmas figures that do not nearly get as much love from the world as Santa, despite being as interesting, if not more, than Father Christmas. One such character is Jack Frost.
While technically not a ‘Christmas figure,’ Jack Frost has always been associated with the festival. He’s essentially the face of winter, the personification of cold, and the guy who gives everyone the frosty fingers and snowed-in days. The first recorded mention of Jack Frost in literature was in 1734 in a book called “Round About Our Coal Fire, or Christmas Entertainments.”

Windy Wilkin’s Death on the Border is a thought-provoking movie that forces you to contemplate one of the real dangers and problems of society: child trafficking. It’s common knowledge that scores of young girls and children are trafficked every year. These young girls are forced into prostitution or are sold to high-paying clients. Death on the Border isn’t entirely fictional but draws inspiration from real events. This makes Windy Wilkin’s film all the more haunting, realizing the ordeal all those women and girls had to go through. At the beginning of the film, Maddy (Shannon Elizabeth) is picked up by a child trafficker who is smuggling young girls over the border. The trafficker tried to force himself on Maddy, but she killed him with the gun she was hiding in her boots. Maddy freed the girls and asked one of them to drive until they were safe.

Exclusive: Los Angeles-based Premiere Entertainment Group has acquired worldwide rights to romantic comedy Plan B, starring Emmy-award winner Jamie Lee (HBO’s Crashing) and Jon Heder.
Premiere Entertainment will launch worldwide sales of the film at the upcoming American Film Market with all territories currently available.
Directed by first-timer Brandon Tamburri, from an original screenplay by Tamburri and Jean Monpere, Plan B follows the story of Piper, a young woman who, against better judgment, decides to sleep with a successful businessman and tells him he’s the father of her unborn baby after a one-night stand with her awkward neighbor leaves her pregnant.
The Joke Zero and Future Proof Films pic is produced by DJ Dodd, Erika Hampson, and Tamburri. Cast also includes Oscar Nominee Tom Berenger, Shannon Elizabeth, and SAG Award Winner Kate Flannery (NBC’s The Office). Rounding out the ensemble cast are Michael Lombardi (FX’s Rescue Me), Subhah Agarwal (HBO’s Westworld), Daniel K. Isaac (Showtime’s Billions), NFL star Vernon Davis, and Danielle Perez (A24’s Dicks: The Musical).
Full Synopsis reads: After a fun night out, rebellious writer Piper (Jamie Lee) drunkenly sleeps with her awkward neighbor, Evan (Jon Heder), and winds up pregnant. When she attempts to tell Evan the news, Piper quickly realizes that he’s not the long-term guy for her and the baby. After receiving news from publishing exec Jane (Kate Flannery) that her dream of a book deal is coming to fruition, she needs to find a stable relationship – and quick. Going against the advice of her best friend Maya (Subhah Agarwal), Piper opts to keep the pregnancy a secret until she can find a more successful guy to sleep with and hopefully start a family.
After a few failed and comical attempts at finding a match, Piper stumbles into Cameron (Michael Lombardi), a financial advisor and regular at the café she works at. Everything appears to be going as planned as Cameron falls for Piper and is ecstatic about the pregnancy. Cameron introduces Piper to his parents Joe (Tom Berenger) and Diane and fends off advances from his flirty boss Anne (Shannon Elizabeth) along the way. While juggling her double life, Piper continues to bump into her neighbor Evan, who has no idea that he is the father of her soon-to-be-born baby. However, Piper’s evil scheme starts to unravel when she starts second-guessing herself, realizing that she could be making the biggest mistake of her life.
Carlos Rincon, SVP of acquisitions at Premiere Entertainment, negotiated the deal with producer DJ Dodd on behalf of Joke Zero and Future Proof Films.
“This film has been a labor of love for me, and I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. Premiere is the perfect partner for us, and I’m excited to be working with them,” Tamburri said.
DJ Dodd, Owner of Future Proof Films, added: “We are very proud of the film we’ve made through the immense hard work of all of our cast and crew. Making this film has been a fun ride, and we can’t wait to introduce it to the world.”...

The coming-of-age film American Pie was one of the surprise hit movies of the 1999 film season. Fans quickly became invested in a group of high school friends and their families in the Jason Biggs, Eugene Levy, and Jennifer Coolidge-led big-screen success. Two years later, American Pie 2 revisited the friend group, now college students. However, when the third sequel, American Wedding, was filmed in 2003, many cast favorites were missing. Why was that so?
Why were so many of ‘American Pie’s’ original cast members not a part of ‘American Wedding?’
In 2003, producers of the American Pie film franchise orchestrated the wedding of Jim Levenstein (Jason Biggs) and Michelle Flaherty (Alyson Hannigan) as the centerpiece of American Wedding. The movie intended to bring together the cast of the first two installments as a love letter for the characters and film fans who supported the franchise since 1999.

American Pie is one of those cult classic movies that anyone who grew up in the 1990s has probably seen — many times. It was known for its humor and certainly catered to a more adult audience, but it was loaded with characters that nobody could ever forget.
While it’s been nearly 25 years since the movie was released, some of the actors have remained household names. Where is the American Pie cast today?
The ‘American Pie’ cast in 2012 | Kevin Winter/Getty Images Where is Jason Biggs today?
Jason Biggs was the film’s main star, and he went on to act in movies far beyond American Pie. There have been plenty of film sequels, and he starred in the first four movies, up until 2012. He appeared in films including Eight Below and My Best Friend’s Girl, the latter of which is where he met his now-wife, Jenny Mollen. Today, Biggs is worth about $20 million,...

When the trailer for Gene Stupnitksy’s No Hard Feelings made the rounds online, it felt like a mild event. Not only for a return to big theatrical releases for star Jennifer Lawrence, but also a return of the big-budget, theatrically released sex comedy, a genre that has been mostly relegated to streaming. It was great to see one of the few remaining stars who can draw an audience throw her considerable influence behind a straight-up comedy.
But for No Hard Feelings to salvage comedy it must actually be funny. And overall it is. Lawrence plays Maddie, a 32-year-old Uber driver whose car is repossessed for her failure to pay property tax. She answers a Craigslist ad that offers to trade a Buick as payment for “dating” the owner’s sheltered son, Percy (Andrew Barth Feldman). 1999’s American Pie was a sensation upon release, launching the careers–however quickly some fizzled out–of its core cast. The American Pie ensemble had several breakouts, but one who made her own impact on both the horny teen characters and wide-eyed male moviegoers was Shannon Elizabeth, who played foreign exchange student Nadia. But Elizabeth didn’t want anyone to see it at all.
Reflecting on her experience shooting American Pie, Shannon Elizabeth said Czech bombshell Nadia wasn’t nearly as fun to play as she was to watch. Yet it has nothing to do with baring it all on the world wide web (in the famous scene featured in the thorough documentary Skin: A History of Nudity in the Movies), but rather post-production problems. “When I did American Pie, they called me in to do Adr [additional dialogue recording]. Shannon Elizabeth became a teen movie icon with her breakthrough role in 1999’s “American Pie.” She played Nadia, the foreign exchange student from Czech Republic who Jason Biggs’ Jim wants to lose his virginity to before high school graduation. Elizabeth recently revealed on the “Inside of You with Michael Rosenbaum” podcast (via The Independent) that she was left “devastated” by the film after the post-production team screwed with her accent. Elizabeth said the accent in the film was not what she originally wanted.
“When I did American Pie, they called me in to do Adr,” Elizabeth said. “They were like, ‘We’re gonna play with the accent.’ So I’d say something and then they’d go, ‘Ok, do less of an accent.’ I was like, ‘Why are they messing with this accent so much?’ I had worked really hard with a dialect coach on this.”

Cate Blanchett has issued a staunch defence of films and TV shows that explore controversial figures.
The Australian actor is currently up for the Oscar and Bafta awards for Best Actress, thanks to her performance as a fictional, world-famous but narcissistic conductor in Tár.
In the film, Blanchett’s character Lydia Tár finds herself at the centre of a debate about the power given to successful artists after she is accused of preying on and abusing young musicians.
Tár has been viewed as controversial by some due to the behaviour of its protagonist, with one real-life conductor accusing it of being “anti-woman”.
However, Blanchett has now argued that it is important to continue studying the works of artists and other historical figures, regardless of whether they might be deemed controversial or “problematic” today.

Shannon Elizabeth has explained why she warned people off watching American Pie before it was released.
The actor’s breakthrough role came in the teen comedy film, which became a sleeper hit upon its release in 1999.
At the time of being cast as Nadia in the film, Elizabeth only had a small number of credits to her name.
For the role, she was expected to do an accent considering Nadia’s character was from the Czech Republic.
However, after “working really hard with a dialect coach”, Elizabeth was left concerned when the sound team attempted to amend her accent once filming had been completed using Automated Dialogue Replacement (Adr).
Adr is usually implemented when directors feel they need additional dialogue to what was filmed, and is essentially added as a voiceover to the completed scene.

Adr is usually implemented when directors feel they need additional dialogue to what was filmed, and is essentially added as a voiceover to the completed scene.
“When I did American Pie, they called me in to do Adr,” Elizabeth said on...

Batgirl actor Leslie Grace has refuted claims that the shelved film was not fit for release.
The DC movie had completed filming on the 90m (£73.7m) film, but was left surprised when the release was cancelled in August 2022.
An official statement from Warner Bros at the time explained the decision as being part of “leadership’s strategic shift as it relates to the DC universe and HBO Max”.
Earlier this month, DC co-chairman and CEO Peter Safran stood behind the decision, and told the US press that the film “was not releasable”.
In a new interview, Grace has spoken out against the claim, stating that the amount she got to see had the potential to be a good film.
“I got to see the film as far as it got to; the film wasn’t complete by the time that it was tested,” she explained to Variety.

Hello Wisconsin! It’s official, a new generation of ’90s kids have made their way to Red and Kitty Forman’s basement. Netflix released the That ’70s Show spinoff called That ’90s Show on January 19, 2023. While Og fans were ecstatic to see Red (Kurtwood Smith) and Kitty (Debra Jo Rupp) Forman, and some of the original gang back on their screens, fans of That ’70s Show also have some questions about the timeline in That ’90s Show. One of the biggest questions is how Jackie and Kelso have a teenage son in the reboot.

That '90s Show premiered in January, and it was filled with nostalgia.
The sequel to That '70s Show featured plenty of original stars, filling fans in on what happened to them after the 2006 series finale.
Ashton Kutcher, who played Kelso, revealed in an interview with Esquire magazine that he did not have a say in whether he would be returning.
Kutcher's wife, Mila Kunis, said they would both return for the sequel, even if the script came in lower than their expectations.
"[She] goes, 'You know, we owe our entire careers to this show. It doesn't matter what the script is, we're doing it,'" Kutcher recalled.
Kutcher and Kunis's characters are married in That '90s Show, which Kunis was not fond of.
In a 2022 interview with Access Hollywood, the actress shared her thoughts on the matter.

Ashton Kutcher says his wife and former co-star Mila Kunis refused to let him turn down That ‘70s show’s spinoff series, That ‘90s Show.
The new Netflix series, which premiered last month, was co-developed by That ’70s Show creators Bonnie Turner, Terry Turner and Mark Brazill, and Lindsey Turner.
It is set in Wisconsin and follows Leia Forman, the teenage daughter of That ‘70s Show characters Eric Forman (Topher Grace) and Donna Pinciotti (Laura Prepon).
Kutcher, 44, told Esquire that when the pitch first came in for the duo to reprise their respective roles as Kelso and Jackie, Kunis told him: “You know, we owe our entire careers to this show. It doesn’t matter what the script is, we’re doing it.”

In a 2022 interview with Access Hollywood, Kunis revealed that she disagreed with the showrunners’ decision to have them end up together.

When it came time to reprising Kelso in Netflix’s “That ’70s Show” sequel series “That ’90s Show,” Ashton Kutcher did not have a choice. As the actor recently told Esquire magazine, his former co-star and wife Kunis refused to let him turn down the sequel project. Not even a potentially bad script would let Kutcher off the hook.
According to Kutcher, when the pitch first came in for the duo to reprise their roles as Kelso and Jackie, Kunis told him: “[She] goes, ‘You know, we owe our entire careers to this show. It doesn’t matter what the script is, we’re doing it.’”

Two-time Academy Award winner Emma Thompson wants “Love Actually” fans to see both sides now 20 years later.
The beloved holiday classic film celebrated its milestone anniversary this year with the ABC special “The Laughter & Secrets of Love Actually: 20 Years Later.” Yet Thompson shared a different take on the Richard Curtis-helmed love story.
While on “Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” Thompson was asked by the host if she ever rewatches “Love Actually.”
“No. That was 20 years ago,” Thompson said. “You’re just saying, ‘I don’t think I was very well paid for that. There was that terrible trailer with the loo that really stank and had that sort of….’ That’s the things you remember, not the good ones.”
Director Curtis recently reflected on how the film makes him feel “uncomfortable and a bit stupid” when watching through a modern lens. “There are things you’d change but, thank God,...

Love may actually be all around, but it was mostly a white Christmas when it came to 2003 rom-com “Love Actually.”
Writer-director Richard Curtis reflected on the beloved classic film, saying the lack of diversity makes him “feel uncomfortable and a bit stupid” two decades later.

Curtis continued, “The lack of diversity makes me feel uncomfortable and a bit stupid. You know, I think there are sort of three plots that have sort of bosses and people who work for them.”
The film focused on 10 separate love stories, with Hugh Grant, Emma Thompson, Laura Linney, Bill Nighy, Liam Neeson, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Alan Rickman,...

From September 15th until October 30th, I’ll be watching at least one new to me horror film every day, and providing collections of capsule reviews week by week. On Halloween itself, as ever, I’m planning an all day marathon of some of my favourite horror films.
I hope you’ll find it interesting following as I dig further into a genre I’ve always loved, and maybe find some hidden gems along the way yourselves.
Week 1’s film can be found here
Week 2’s films are here.
The Blob (1988) Dir: Chuck Russell
Horror fans, and I count myself as guilty as any of them, are given to complaining about relentless remakes, but it’s worth remembering that they were never exactly thin on the ground. 30 years after Steve McQueen made his screen debut in the original version, this take on The Blob seems to be trying to do...

Don’t get me wrong, streaming is great. You can’t complain about the convenience of pulling up a movie without having to leave your bed. But there’s one thing that we’ve lost in our post-rental store age: cool movie covers. Sure, Netflix will display algorithmically designed thumbnails, and trailers for movies play above Redbox kiosks. But gone are the days of the crinkly Disney clamshell or the lenticular image of Jack Frost shifting from a smiling snowman to a Shannon Elizabeth-attacking beast.
As that last point indicates, no genre is hurt more by the end of the rental store than horror. No longer did those looking for depravity need to leave their homes to visit shady cinemas in Times Square or dusty drive-ins. Now, they could go to the rental store and plan their own double-feature. To appeal to those amateur programmers, production companies commissioned incredibly eye-catching VHS covers,...

The Hollywood Reporter has reported that a new film in the 1999 comedy franchise, American Pie, is now in the works over at Universal. The original film has already spawned three theatrical sequels with the original continuity as well as five direct-to-video spin-offs, which would include one released as recently as 2020. American Pie is a raunchy sex comedy about four high school friends entering a pact in their pursuit to lose their virginity before prom night.
The new film in the works will be coming from a concept pitched by Sujata Day, who is known for her role in the HBO raunchy comedy, Insecure, and as a writer and director of the film, Definition Please. There is currently nothing known about the plot of her concept, but her pitch has been described as “a fresh take.” Day will be writing the script, although it has not been announced if she will...

Mila Kunis has expressed disapproval of her character Jackie’s relationship status in the new spinoff of That ’70s Show.
In April, Netflix announced that it was going forward with That ’90s Show, a sequel to the hit sitcom that Kunis and real-life husband Ashton Kutcher as Kelso starred in for the entirety of its eight-season run.
Launching in 1998, the series first introduced snobby Jackie as Kelso’s on-again-off-again younger girlfriend. However, during their off periods, she dated Hyde (Danny Masterson) and Fez (Wilmer Valderrama), eventually ending up with the latter in the series finale.
With the 39-year-old actor set to reprise her role in the forthcoming sequel, Kunis spoke candidly to Access Hollywood, arguing against Jackie’s rekindled relationship with Kelso in That ’90s Show.
“My husband and I are together in [the new show], which is weird ‘cause we shouldn’t have been,” she said.

Throughout all eight seasons of "That '70s Show," it's Jackie Burkhart (Mila Kunis) who seems to most often go through relationship drama. She spends the first few seasons in a tumultuous relationship with Kelso (Ashton Kutcher), then gradually falls in love with Hyde (Danny Masterson), before trying out a new relationship with Fez (Wilmer Valderrama) in the final season.
The upcoming Netflix spin-off sitcom "That '90s Show" will focus on Eric and Donna's kids spending the summer with Red and Kitty in 1995. Although the original cast members won't be the main focus, they will be making appearances, and that includes an older Jackie and Kelso, now married. That's right: it's now canon that Jackie and Fez's relationship doesn't pan out, and that Jackie will return to the dopey-yet-lovable Kelso to start a family with.
Despite the fact that the actors are married in real life, Mila Kunis isn't a huge fan of this decision.

Mila Kunis might have met her husband Ashton Kutcher on the set of “That ’70s Show,” where they played on-again off-again couple Jackie and Kelso, but she isn’t so sure that their characters’ tumultuous romance would have lasted.
The couple is set to reprise their roles in the upcoming Netflix sequel “That ’90s Show,” and Kunis revealed during a recent interview with Access Hollywood that Jackie and Kelso are married with a child in the new series — a development that she took some issue with.

Mila Kunis is set to return to her breakout role as Jackie from That ’70s Show for a guest appearance on Netflix‘s upcoming spinoff, That ’90s Show, alongside her husband Ashton Kutcher and most of the original cast. Derek Hough has a record six Mirrorball trophies, two Emmys for his choreography on “Dancing with the Stars” and is widely regarded as one of the series’ best pros ever, but he felt like a fraud in his early seasons.
“I definitely look back at my approach to the show. In my earlier seasons, I was nervous and I was uncertain. I was kind of faking it, to be honest with you,” Hough told Jana Kramer, a “Dancing” alum, on her “Whine Down” podcast. “I wasn’t really a teacher or choreographer. People used to say, ‘Oh, you’re a good choreographer.’ I’m like, I never really looked at myself in that way. That made me fearful and afraid.”
Hough made his “Dancing” debut in Season 4 in 2007, not as a pro but as a guest instructor helping out his sister Julianne Hough and her partner Apolo Anton Ohno, who...

CBS is doubling down on Big Brother.
The network announced today during its TCA summer press tour day that Big Brother: Celebrity Edition will return on the network for a third season in winter 2022, with an all-new group of celebrities living together in the Big Brother house.
The series previously aired in winter 2018 and 2019 and included television personalities Kandi Burruss, Omarosa Manigault Newman, and Ross Matthews, Olympians Lolo Jones and Ryan Lochte, and actors Shannon Elizabeth and Joey Lawrence.
The successful series has also included comedian Tom Green and former White House director of communications Anthony Scaramucci.
Actress Marissa Jaret Winokur and singer Tamar Braxton won season one and two, respectively.
While the series has been off the air for several years, it was never officially canceled, and it seemed more like the network would make a decision to bring it back when there was an opening.
