Nearly 30 years after The Simpsons joked about Cypress Hill accidentally booking the London Symphony Orchestra while high, the hip-hop group is making it a reality. The Los Angeles collective has announced they will be joined by the 71-piece orchestra for a concert this summer.
Taking place at London’s Royal Albert Hall on July 10th, the show will feature Cypress Hill performing some of their biggest hits like “Insane in the Brain” and “I Wanna Get High” over orchestral arrangements conducted by Lso’s Troy Miller. It shouldn’t be much of an adjustment for the group, which performed a handful of concerts with the San Diego Symphony last year.
A ticket pre-sale will begin on March 26th (register here) in advance of the general on-sale commencing on March 27th via the Royal Albert Hall website.

Finally, after nearly 30 years, we will get an answer to a famous question that’s resonated through the annals of television history: Who ordered the London Symphony Orchestra — possibly while high?
Well, it was Cypress Hill in the famous Simpsons episode, “Homerpalooza,” and now it’s Cypress Hill in real life. The hip-hop outfit will actually take the stage with the London Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Troy Miller, to perform symphonic versions of their biggest hits. The show will take place July 10 at no less a venue than Royal Albert Hall,...

House Republicans opposing sweeping reforms to the nation’s immigration law tried — and failed — to impeach Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas on Tuesday over his handling of border security.
Republicans, who hold a razor-slim majority over Democrats, could only afford to lose two votes on the resolution accusing Mayorkas of presiding “over a reckless abandonment of border security and immigration enforcement, at the expense of the Constitution and the security of the United States.” The vote was 214-216.

The big bipartisan border reform deal is all but dead, thanks to Maga Republicans obeying Donald Trump’s wishes to kill it. The legislation delivered many of the immigration measures conservatives have long wanted, but the former president and his allies in Congress worry progress on the issue would make Joe Biden look good ahead of the presidential election. Therefore, addressing what Republicans say is the most pressing crisis facing America today is going to have to wait until a later date when the party feels it’s more politically expedient.

All Jack Frost Films Ever Made(Photo Credit –IMDb)
Santa Claus is and will always be the face of Yuletide. He’s an old, polite, white-bearded man who gives everyone gifts; what’s not to love there? So, it is safe to say no one can replace the good old Santa Claus. However, there are some Christmas figures that do not nearly get as much love from the world as Santa, despite being as interesting, if not more, than Father Christmas. One such character is Jack Frost.
While technically not a ‘Christmas figure,’ Jack Frost has always been associated with the festival. He’s essentially the face of winter, the personification of cold, and the guy who gives everyone the frosty fingers and snowed-in days. The first recorded mention of Jack Frost in literature was in 1734 in a book called “Round About Our Coal Fire, or Christmas Entertainments.”

All episodes of “Arrested Development” are set to be removed from Netflix on March 15 — including Seasons 4 and 5, which Netflix produced itself.
After initially running on Fox for three seasons, “Arrested Development” was canceled in 2006. In 2012, when Netflix was still relatively new to producing its own projects, the streamer elected to revive the series. Co-produced with 20th Television and Imagine Entertainment, Season 4 premiered in 2013 and the fifth and final seasons premiered in two installments between 2018 and 2019.
While the “Arrested Development” landing page on Netflix is already alerting viewers that March 14 is the last day to watch the series, that still seems to be subject to change. Norwegian crime drama “Lilyhammer,” which was billed as the first-ever Netflix original, was announced to be leaving the service last year, but a licensing renewal at the last hour allowed the series to continue streaming. But if the removal of “Arrested Development does go through,...

“For All Mankind” will return for its third season on June 10, Apple TV Plus announced Monday.
Created by Ronald D. Moore, Matt Wolpert and Ben Nedivi, the critically-acclaimed science fiction drama imagines an alternate history where Russia beat the United States in putting a man on the moon first. As a result of this historical divergence, the space race between the two countries never ends, leading to a world where both nations have advanced moon colonies staffed 24/7 and the Cold War has led to much quicker technological advances. The series focuses on the exploits of the astronauts and staff of NASA in this alternate universe, delving into both their professional and personal lives.
The first two seasons of “For All Mankind” covered a span of almost two decades, starting in 1969 and ending in the late ’80s. Season 3 again jumps ahead into the early ’90s, as the space race expands to the exploration of Mars.

Do you feel that chill in the air? Winter has once again descended to encase us in her cold, deathly embrace. But, of course, winter does not come alone. She brings with her a golem made from the very snow she produces to freeze us down to our bones. This avatar mocks us by shaping itself in a distorted facsimile of the human form cobbled together with coal, carrots, and despair. I refer, of course, to the snowman, the ultimate bodhisattva of the season of death.
Human beings often try to make sense of life’s horrors through story, and in the late ’90s not one, but two films dared plunge the depths of the uncanny dread induced by snowmen. And such was the terrifying nature of both films that they each earned the title Jack Frost.

What was Kathy Griffin thinking when she posed for a portrait holding what looked like the severed head of Donald Trump? That’s the question the comedian’s fans most want to hear answered in her self-produced feature, “Kathy Griffin: A Hell of a Story,” which is her courageous attempt to soldier on after her career got “Dixie Chicked” by the scandal. But unlike the country band, who suffered blowback after Natalie Maines announced, “We’re ashamed that the president of the United States is from Texas,” Griffin got heat from not just “Make American Great Again” supporters — whom she dubs “Maggots” — but the government itself.
Still, picking a fight with an insult comic is never a good idea. When Trump personally came after her on Twitter, he may have made Griffin’s life difficult, but he was also giving her material for which any stand-up would gladly go to Guantanamo.

“Kathy Griffin: A Hell of a Story,” a documentary comedy from the star comedian, has sold to Brainstorm Media for a special theatrical release this summer, Variety has learned.

Kathy Griffin: A Hell of a Story details the saga around the infamous photo that the comic posted of a severed Donald Trump head. It’s an entirely self-funded project that Griffin and her director Troy Miller put together to tell the larger story of the fallout from Griffin's famously unapologetic point of view.
Unsurprisingly, the film from start to finish is a super-sized middle finger to the Trump administration. Griffin wears the same blue-bowed dress she’s seen wearing in the photo in question. She name-drops left and right who did and didn’t support her after she lost ...

Kathy Griffin still has plenty to say, and in her intimate and revealing new stand-up film “A Hell of a Story,” the embattled comedian and actress is hoping that people are willing to listen. The self-financed documentary, directed by seasoned comedy filmmaker Troy Miller, will premiere at the SXSW film festival this week, where audiences will be treated to a project that serves as both proof of Griffin’s still-kicking standup career and the insanity that ensued after she posted a photo depicting her holding the severed (and fake!) head of Donald Trump in 2017.
As Griffin explains, while she had to make the movie herself because no one else was willing to sign on for the project, she’s hoping the snappy 80-minute feature will catch some eyes at the festival. And she’s got some big ideas for what it might lead to, from a possible television comeback to...

By any measure, Kathy Griffin’s comedy tour last year was a big hit. She traveled to 15 countries and played regal venues (such as the Sydney Opera House) as she dished about the devastating fallout from a 2017 photograph in which she posed with a gory mask that looked like Donald Trump’s decapitated head. The redemptive set was called, appropriately enough, “Laugh Your Head Off.” It raked in $4.4 million, and it earned her a rave review from The New York Times.
But when Griffin returned to her Bel Air home last October, she quickly realized that Hollywood wasn’t ready to forgive her. Even despite her touring success, every executive in town regarded her as an unemployable comic who’d crossed the line. She tried to shop around a comedy special, but Netflix and HBO passed. She wanted to do a reality show about what it was like to have...

[Editor’s Note: The following review contains spoilers for “Dear White People” Season 1. Please watch the 10 episodes, now available on Netflix, before continuing — or read the spoiler-free review.]
Romance is an all-encompassing experience. Once you’re in it, there’s nothing else out there. It’s just the two of you against the world, as they say. But generally, you’re not against anything: life, and everything in it, is improved. When you’re in love, the day-to-day is all sunshine and rainbows, leaving little time for concern, let alone cause.
This kind of overwhelming emotional state is why there’s a whole genre dedicated to romance, and why it can be hard for shows to establish a truly great relationship without letting it overwhelm everything else in the series. Viewers relate to the concept of a happy ending with a happy couple, and such an instinctual reaction can prove daunting if the will-they-won’t-they drama plays out as it does in many relationships: indefinitely.

The sins of the father ought not to be visited upon the child. That is, until they are, and the son unwittingly and inevitably becomes the father.
One could say that this tragic cycle of life is the central theme of Denzel Washington’s new offering, Fences, but that is both saying too much and saying too little. Too much because the film is a smaller story than grander symbols—it is the simple story of a modest man. Too little because at the heart of the play-turned-movie lie deeper questions about how to grapple with our past without letting it shape or distort our future, questions beyond the simplicity of fatherly sins.
And Fences is, without question, Denzel Washington’s film. Not only did he direct it to staid emotion and steady visuals, he gives an acting clinic for the ages that should make Casey Affleck and Andrew Garfield...

For nearly two decades, Keegan-Michael Key has been tirelessly chiseling out a successful path in comedy. Name a standout sitcom from “Reno 911” to “How I Met Your Mother,” “Parks and Recreation” to “It’s Always Philadelphia,” “Modern Family,” “The Muppets” or “Ricky and Morty,” and Key has popped by to add his hilarious flare. The path began back in 2004 when he was cast on “MADtv,” and eventually led to he and castmate Jordan Peele spawning their own sketch show, the critically heralded and sharply satirical “Key and Peele.”
Through all of the above, Key has shown himself to be one of the boldest and most entertaining comedy performers working today. But in his new film, “Don’t Think Twice,” the funny man smoothly slides into drama. Which turns out to be an important next step for the challenge Key’s looking to take on next.

Did you spot the photo of Amy Poehler in Liz Lemon’s 30 Rock office? Or the Han Solo model in Firefly?
Surrounding your workspace with more clutter than a mid-noughties Myspace page is one way to assert individualism inside a bland corporate identity. It tells the world, ‘I’m not a number, I’m a free man! A free man overly fond of Pikachu!’ It can also be an act of mild rebellion, akin to leaving out the short and skinny bit of your school tie instead of the long, fat bit of your school tie that the man wants to see.
And then there’s sentimental desk décor, the talismans from loved ones from which you draw daily strength, reminding you why you shackled yourself to the capitalist cart horse in the first place. These are the photos, drawings and poorly made pottery items that prove you exist outside of work,...

Donald Trump vs. Starbucks' War on Christmas. The War on Christmas: The movies that come to mind We're still in November, but the War on Christmas – according to online buzz, a second cousin once removed of the War on Cops – has begun. Weeping and gritting of teeth has seized certain population segments in the U.S.A. (and perhaps other countries as well) after Fox News, that beacon of intellectual freedom at the end of the cable news tunnel, announced that … Starbucks' holiday season cups are a) red b) devoid of Christmas decorations. Could it be a satanic conspiracy disguised as politically correct inclusiveness? The result of a communist takeover at the Seattle-headquartered company? Cruel and unusual Christian persecution in the form of paper cups? Your guess is as good as mine. Far-right Republican icon, U.S. presidential candidate, and 2015 political circus ringmaster Donald Trump seems to think that Starbucks...

“Hey, everybody! It's Bob and David!”
This Friday, Netflix will release four episodes of W/Bob & David, a new sketch show that reunites the cast of HBO's ground-breaking comedy series Mr. Show With Bob & David. For comedy fans of all stripes, this is unspeakably good news.
Mr. Show ran for 30 episodes (plus two clip show specials) between 1995 and 1998. It didn't set the world alight in terms of audience figures, but its weird and wonderful stylings mark it as a forerunner to shows like The Sarah Silverman Show, Portlandia, Key & Peele, Inside Amy Schumer and Tim & Eric Awesome Show! Great Job. To many of the alternative comedians currently working and coming up, Mr. Show is nothing short of the American answer to Monty Python's Flying Circus.

Parks and Recreation”Greg Pikitis” (Season 2, Episode 7)
There are a lot of great Halloween episodes of “Parks and Recreation” but this one is less about emotions and more about humor and that’s why I love it. In the episode, Leslie spends the entire night trying to take down her nemesis who just happens to be a teenage boy, Greg Pikitis. This horrible young man is known for ritually destroying government property and totally driving Leslie nuts. To where she makes this face:
Not to mention she enlists her boyfriend, the lovable, soft spoken, voice of reason, Dave the cop (played by Louis Ck), to help tail Pikitis all night. Only to return to the Parks office late that night to see it vandalized just as she suspected Pikitis would do. How did he do it when they have tailed him all night? That is the gem at the end of the episode.

Friendship is an important part of life and an incredibly important part of a good television series. Sometimes a TV show centers around a group of friends creating something perfect other times the friendship is in the background or side and ends up being the best part of series.
These friendships are often ones we wish we had in own lives or are ones of which we relate. Either way we love these friends for making the shows they inhabit great.

Is that the last we'll see of Community or will the hashtag become a reality when six seasons are joined by a movie?
Warning: contains spoilers for Community season 6.
For the first time since 2009, Community just got through a season without the threat of cancellation looming over it at any given moment. NBC finally pulled the plug on Dan Harmon's weird and wonderful series in 2014 after five seasons, but like Arrested Development before it and The Mindy Project since, it got another season by moving online, to the Yahoo! Given how Harmon was fired in 2012, following a harried production schedule on season three and a very public dispute with Chevy Chase over filming, it seems kind of impossible that the show ever got to the six seasons for which the fans campaigned ceaselessly. #SixSeasonsAndAMovie became the rallying cry for Greendale's Human Beings and the lifespan of...

Sometimes you just want some nice comfort television - and E4's new sitcom The Goldbergs can provide just that. Based on creator Adam Goldberg's real family - and his home videos! - the 80s-set show will make you chuckle and just leave you feeling quite nice all around.

What was the appeal of this show for you? Was it the 80s setting?
"Actually, the appeal for me was watching Adam Goldberg's clips of his family. Because when he sent me the script, I thought, 'Okay, this is funny', but then when I saw the footage of his family, I couldn't say yes fast enough.

“Gay Dean, Gay Dean, Gay Dean, Gay Deeeeean... I'm begging you to be gay for the school board.”
Back when Arrested Development packed its bags and hauled its airplane staircase over to Netflix for a fourth season, many complained that the lack of restriction in terms of airtime had hurt the new episodes, some of which ran up to almost twice the length of the traditional 22-minute spots that episodes had occupied on Fox.
As a kind of eternally college-aged spiritual cousin of that show, Community hasn't yet run into such criticisms in its “age of Yahoo”, but if it does, Queer Studies & Advanced Waxing will probably be the first one to get it.
