The episode of Wtf Happened to This Horror Movie? covering Jeepers Creepers 2 was Written and Narrated by Adam Walton, Edited by Joseph Wilson, Produced by Andrew Hatfield and John Fallon, and Executive Produced by Berge Garabedian.
Way back in 2001, Jeepers Creepers introduced us to a very effective movie monster who likes nothing more than to harvest and then eat the organs of human beings. The film, starring Justin Long and Gina Philips was hugely popular, and managed to rake in almost $60 million dollars internationally from a reported budget of just $10 million dollars. When you factor in the subsequent profit the film will have made from the various home entertainment revenue streams, you can see why it’s spawned three sequels, to date. The first movie took the horror landscape by surprise, so naturally the first sequel wouldn’t be far away, and before you could say ‘please don’t...

When a young couple wins a stay at a Creeper-themed escape room there’s no way out from stagey panics and shoddy bloodletting
The Creeper, from the 2001 horror film Jeepers Creepers, has always been in the Vanarama National League of cinematic bogeymen, but the batwing-faced old trouper still deserves better than this shoddy, aesthetically ugly reboot. It reprises the original redneck highway setup in its prologue, with two pensioners replacing Justin Long and Gina Phillips. But Finnish director Timo Vuorensola bypasses the first film’s lean and highly strung qualities in a half-hearted attempt to update the franchise – now with no input from its original creator, disgraced director Victor Salva – for horror-savvy 21st-century punters.
The ill-fated seniors at the beginning quickly become another pair of missing persons chalked off to the Creeper, as recounted in a YouTube documentary being lapped up by horror fanboy Chase (Imran Adams). He’s...

Now, I, like many, have my views on the writer/director of Jeepers Creepers, and this is, for sure, a controversial release from 101, but as I was sent the film to review, I will do just that. I will merley speak about the movie itself, and lay out a list of the extra features that appear on this release. Let’s get going.
Jeepers Creepers was released back in 2001 and was a successful movie. A road trip creature-feature, this flick was a popular one with many fans when it came out almost twenty years ago. It follows a couple, Patricia (Gina Phillips) and Darry (Justin Long), who are driving home from spring break when they see something dumped in a tunnel. When...

In case you’re wondering, before I start this review let me say, this Is Doom… All the aspects of the classic iD Software title are present and correct: from the transporting gates to the coloured keycards, from the weapons to the set/level design (with a brilliant nod to the intermission screen from the first game early on in the film), it’s all here in what can only be described as one of the most faithful video game adaptations to have ever been produced… Though there has been one liberty taken with the Doom franchise – this films “Doom guy” is actually a Doom girl, in the form of actress Amy...

Contentious horror threequel Jeepers Creepers 3 is coming to TV a lot sooner than you think, thanks to Syfy’s ongoing 31 Days of Halloween event.
Word comes by way of Dread Central, confirming that Victor Salva’s troubled and indeed long-in-development flick will swoop onto television on Saturday, October 28th at 9pm, before Syfy stages an encore showing on Sunday, October 29th at the earlier time of 7pm.
Since Jeepers Creepers 3 was first hatched, Salva’s follow-up has become the cinematic equivalent of a hot potato. Major theaters chains quickly distanced themselves from the project, restricting Jeepers Creepers 3 to one-night-only screenings back in September.
Of course, as I’m sure you’re well aware, Victor Salva’s criminal record is the sole source of controversy, given the filmmaker was convicted for sexual misconduct with a minor more than 10 years ago. His victim, Nathan Forrest Winters, has since issued...

From Jigsaw to Leatherface to Amityville: The Awakening, this Halloween season will soon present horror fans with an embarrassment of riches as theaters across the globe begin hosting all sorts of cinematic ghosts and ghouls.
But if there’s one movie that was quietly shunned by distributors, it’s Jeepers Creepers 3 (for good reason, too, but more on that later). Yes, after years spent languishing on the brink of development, Victor Salva’s threequel faced another uphill battle when many of America’s major theater chains dropped it like a hot potato. Only a small handful of companies stood firm, leading to an exclusive one-night-only screening via Regal Theaters.
Such pent-up demand led to Jeepers Creepers 3 securing a second theatrical showing (October 4th), but other than that, the film’s distribution is about as limited as they come. Leave it to Syfy, then, to step in and secure JC3‘s TV premiere.

Unlike most other horror threequels, Jeepers Creepers 3 bucks tradition by situating its story between the events of Jeepers Creepers 1 and 2, and though it’s taken an awful long time to take flight, Victor Salva’s nightmarish vision is about to slither onto the silver screen.
But what of the franchise’s future? A Jeepers Creepers 4 has already been pitched before, when it was revealed back in May that Salva had been quietly plotting a new continuation in the Creeper saga. That’s something that series mainstay Jonathan Breck (The Creeper) echoed during an exhaustive interview with IGN, one that touched on everything from make-up and prosthetics to Salva’s criminal record. For the record: Breck is firmly of the belief that the contentious filmmaker deserves a second chance.
As for a potential fourth film, it’s not off the table:
Yeah, if we’re lucky enough to have it happen.

On the eve of release, American Zoetrope and Myriad Pictures have conjured up a trio of terrifying clips for Jeepers Creepers 3, the long-in-development horror flick that’s coming by way of Victor Salva. And therein lies the source of controversy.
Truth be told, the sequel known as Ravenous will soon face another uphill battle if it’s to really attract a mass audience. Jeepers Creepers has always been celebrated as a cult franchise with its own quirks and spooky delights, but the threequel has been a big point of contention amongst horror fans, mostly due to Salva’s heinous crime, for which he served 15 months in state prison. For the record, his victim, Nathan Forrest Winters, has since issued a statement to say that it’s really up to the audience whether they want to catch The Creeper’s resurrection on the silver screen.

The Creeper is back with a bloody vengeance. A third film in the Jeepers Creepers franchise is coming. On September 26th in select cities the film will be playing up on the big screens, and from early ticket sales it looks as if fans are ready to take a look at what the Creeper has been up to.
The last time fans got a glimpse of the Creeper was all the way back in 2003. Controversial director Victor Salva wrote and directed the film. Jonathan Breck will reprise his role as the Creeper. Gina Phillips will reprise her role as Trish Jenner, from the first film. Phillips will have a cameo in the film.
The plot of the film will follow a disbelieving Sgt. Tubb’s (Brandon Smith ), who set’s up a task force to hunt the Creeper after the events of the first film. Terror ensues as the Creeper fights back.

Is there a more contentious horror film than Jeepers Creepers 3?
Victor Salva’s long-in-development threequel was first hatched in 2006, and has been dogged by production woes and setbacks ever since. And that’s before you factor Salva’s dubious past into the equation. In short: the filmmaker was accused of sexual misconduct with a minor almost two decades ago, and served 15 months in state prison. His victim, Nathan Forrest Winters, has since come out to say that it’s really up to the viewer whether they choose to support Jeepers Creepers 3. You can read his full, candid statement here.
As for the film itself, it’s now on the verge of its limited theatrical release, and an international trailer has clawed its way online to prove it. Embedded above, today brings forth an extended peek at The Creeper, which is about to begin its bloodthirsty harvest. Not unlike the Pennywise of Stephen King’s It,...

"What happened here, happened before!" Screen Media Films has unveiled a short but effective trailer for the horror sequel Jeepers Creepers III, the newest since Jeepers Creepers II hit theaters way back in 2003. Once again directed by Victor Salva, who made the first two, this one actually takes place between the first and second film. This one is about Sergeant Tubbs assembling a task force hellbent on destroying The Creeper, which is terrorizing a local farming community. The cast includes Brandon Smith, Meg Foster, Gina Philips, Carrie Lazar, Stan Shaw, Joyce Giraud, and Jonathan Breck playing The Creeper. I remember all the rage for the first two, but I'm surprised they've made a sequel now 15 years later. Anyone? Jeepers Creepers 3 is a mystery wrapped in a riddle nestled inside a piece of human skin an enigma.
Much of that confusion comes down to the prolonged time gap between the long-brewing horror threequel and its predecessor – Jeepers Creepers 2, for instance, first took flight in 2003 – not to mention the heinous controversy involving franchise creator and director, Victor Salva. In short: the filmmaker was accused of sexual misconduct with a minor almost two decades ago, and served 15 months in state prison.
It’s a controversial saga that has resulted in many horror fans distancing themselves from the Jeepers Creepers franchise altogether, and whether Victor Salva deserves another shot behind the lens or not is something we’ll leave to you.

It’s going on two decades since the winged demon (Aka The Creeper) first terrorized the Florida countryside, and it would seem the future is still bright for Jeepers Creepers.
Franchise mastermind Victor Salva is currently in the process of putting the finishing touches to Jeepers Creepers 3 – filming wrapped last month, so look for that one to take flight via home video before the year’s end – but according to series mainstay Gina Philips (Trish Jenner), Salva has mapped out an arc that will stretch the cult horror series to Jeepers Creepers 4: “Let’s just say, there’s more to come.” Brace yourself, dear readers, The Creeper is ready for another harvest.
Chatting to Diabolique Magazine, Philips began by confirming her involvement in the upcoming third film, and why she considers it to be more of a stepping stone for JC4 – for her character of Trish, at least.

Gina Phillips reveals that Jeepers Creepers 4 is happening, and gives a taste as to what to expect...
The original Jeepers Creepers film was a solid hit in 2001, so much so that it generated a theatrical sequel and a straight-to-dvd threequel. That original is the best, not least in the first third as it channels Steven Spieberg’s Duel, before settling down to become more of a monster movie.
It’s a series that’s still got legs too, with the news that Jeepers Creepers 4 is now on the way, likely for another DVD premiere.
The news was revealed by Gina Phillips, who played Trish in the original movie. In conversation with Diabolique magazine, she revealed that writer-director Victor Salva has been working on the next film. “Victor has written what happens from the second after the conclusion of Jeepers Creepers 3”, she said.

As reported by Bloody Disgusting earlier this week, Jeepers Creepers 3 is looking to start production in Vancouver next month, with Gina Phillips allegedly set to reprise her role from the first movie. And yet many fans may not be familiar with the criminal past of franchise director Victor Salva: a 15 month prison stint for sexually molesting Nathan Forrest Winters, the 12-year-old star of his 1989 horror film Clownhouse. Since JC3 was first announced, outrage has been brewing over Salva's involvement, but is it possible to separate the artist from the art? For some, it clearly isn't; for others, knowledge of the director's terrible act won't preclude them from enjoying the franchise's long-awaited third entry. On this week's episode of HitFix's new horror chat series Nightmare Fuel, I discuss the complex issue with horror filmmaker, author and Dread Central West Coast contributor Staci Layne Wilson, in addition to the forthcoming Jacob's Ladder remake,...

Recently in the Argentine outlet Filming in Argentina: The blog of San Telmo Productions, Benjamín Harguindey wrote about the new incentives specifically designed to fund the development of horror/gene films in the South American country
By Benjamín Harguindey
The president of the Argentinian Incaa Film Institute,Lucrecia Cardoso, has recently created a specific kind of funding for horror movie production in Argentina. A call for applications will launch shortly, after which two projects will be selected by the state for financing.
Recent genre pieces include vampire movie "Darkness by Day" (2013), the 3D giallo experience "Necrophobia 3D" (2014) and "The History of Fear" (2014), critically acclaimed at the Berlin Film Festival. Argentina has also co-produced horror movies with Us studios, like the supernatural "Jennifer’s Shadow" (2004, starring Faye Dunaway and Gina Philips) and "And Soon the Darkness" (2010, starring Amber Heard and Karl Urban), a remake of the homonymous Brit '70s thriller.
Variety also reported that local film market Ventana Sur will be conducting a small horror film festival next December by the name of “Blood Window”, in tandem with October's traditional "Rojo Sangre" film festival.

Let's see here: We've got a hacksaw, a black gloved killer, some mannequin heads and blooshed shed to music by Claudio Simonetti. It's not an Italian giallo, rather it's a giallo-inspired horror film from Argentina called Necrophobia 3D. A trailer made its debut this week and I've got to say - I'm impressed. Creepy and weird and beautiful-looking; check it out here. The film hails from director Daniel de la Vega, who previously helmed Chronicle of the Raven (aka Jennifer's Shadow) with Gina Phillips and Faye Dunaway. Prior to that, however, he did various shorts that toured the film circuit.

Cameras are set to roll on the long-awaited threequel to the long-dormant, early-millennium horror franchise Jeepers Creepers, if reports coming out of the American Film Market are to be believed.
Shock Till You Drop is reporting that not only has there been significant movement on the Jeepers Creepers 3 front, but that “one day of shooting is already in the can.” That’s certainly intriguing news for fans of the malevolent winged Creeper, who have long-clamored for a third installment of the perpetually stuck-in-mothballs series.
Jeepers Creepers writer/director Victor Salva (who helmed the horrific original in 2001 and its less-successful 2003 sequel) was coy about any future developments, but did state that, ”There may finally be some very good news for those waiting for the third Jeepers film to go before the cameras.” Not a denial nor a confirmation, but his statement does insinuate that something may be brewing in his camp.

As Bruce Campbell proved to us all last week when he debunked the previous week’s announcement that Army of Darkness 2 was on its way, news of impending horror sequels should probably always be taken with a grain of salt. Countless sequels have been announced over the years, only to drop off the face of the earth shortly thereafter. It’s just the nature of the game, in a fickle business like the movie-making one.
Back in August we took a look at ten of those sequels that we’re still waiting to see, and today I’ve got ten more for ya. They were all planned, they were all announced, but none of them ever actually happened!

I must admit up front that I’m not the biggest fan of monster movies; they’re not my cup of bloody tea. So, when something like Jeepers Creepers comes along, grabs my attention and glues me to my chair, it’s something special. Darry and Trish are driving home through the countryside when they are almost driven off the road by a massive truck.
A while later, the two see the truck’s driver shoving something they think is a dead body down a drainage pipe. Naturally, the two investigate, only to find an underground dwelling full of dead bodies. They manage to escape, only to become the target of the truck driver’s menace, running for their lives from a not-so-human killer.
The cast, toplined by Justin Long and Gina Phillips, are all more than game for the crazy goings on in the film. As a couple of college aged siblings,...

“Jeepers creepers, where’d you get those peepers?” This song was originally cute and playful once but when it was used in the 2001 horror film Jeepers Creepers, all that changed. The film came out in a time between the Scream franchise and the Saw franchise. Masked serial killers and torture porn were the pieces of bread holding the Jeepers Creepers sandwich together, and with this interesting and entertaining entry in the horror film genre came a unique and terrifying creature, one which audiences both feared and enjoyed.
The film follows Darry (Justin Long) and Trish (Gina Phillips), two siblings coming home from college for spring break. They are run off the road by a crazed driver in a mysterious truck. They then see the same truck parked near an old church and see a creepy figure dumping what appears to be a body wrapped in a bloody sheet down a pipe in the ground.

Jennifer Lynch's latest effort, Chained, hits DVD and Blu-ray on October 2nd and Anchor Bay wants you to have a copy.Perhaps the most terrifying human relationship is the one between a serial killer and his target. But what if it starts that way, and becomes something...more? With a stellar cast including Vincent D'Onofrio (Full Metal Jacket, "Law and Order: Criminal Intent"), Gina Phillips (Jeepers Creepers, "Ally McBeal") Conor Leslie ("90210"), Evan Bird ("The Killing"), with Jake Weber (Dawn of the Dead, "Medium") and Julia Ormond (My Week With Marilyn, "Mad Men"), Chained is an unforgettable ride into the darkness that can reside in the...

Victor Salva’s Jeepers Creepers will be remembered for being Justin Long‘s breakout role and for turning the 1938 Louis Armstrong hit into a iconic horror ballad. Beyond that, it’s an above average horror film, that, despite the end being much weaker than the majority of the film, is quite entertaining and provides some quality scares.
We first meet Trish (Gina Philips) and her brother Darius (Long) as they drive along a deserted road, surrounded by meadows and farmland, on their way home from college. Their sibling banter is suddenly interrupted by an old, rusted truck that comes flying up on their car, horn blaring.
After letting the truck pass, and spending a few moments filling us in on the legend of a murder on that same highway, it seems the trip is back on schedule, that is until they spot the very same truck parked outside a dilapidated church,...

*full disclosure: a Blu-Ray copy of this film was provided by 20th Century Fox. Director/writer: Victor Salva. Cast: Gina Philips, Justin Long, Jonathan Breck, Patricia Belcher, Eileen Brennan, and Brandon Smith. It is disturbing to read that director Victor Salva was convicted of child rape in the late '80s. Yet, he still found work with Disney and he would later move on to Powder (1995) and the film reviewed here, Jeepers Creepers (2001). This title has recently released on Blu-Ray for the first time September 11th and despite the director's sordid history, there is something unique in this creature feature. An abrupt ending is the only element to take something away from full enjoyment, while acting, story and characterizations are all given suitable attention. The story follows siblings Darry (Justin Long) and Patricia (Gina Phillips) as they return from Bannon College. They are heading home when a darkened vehicle tries...

While initially recognised for being the daughter of noted offbeat auteur David Lynch, director Jennifer Lynch has been working on building a reputation of her own amongst the film community. While her most well-known effort, 2010′s Hisss, gained more publicity for the myriad production issues rather than the finished product, her newest effort, titled Chained, has been turning heads for all the right reasons. Following the twisted relationship between a serial killer and the captive he treats as his successor, the movie stars Eamon Farren and Vincent D’Onofrio in the lead roles, alongside Julia Ormond, Evan Bird, Gina Philips, and Conor Leslie. Two new clips from the movie have now been released, and can be seen below. For those interested further in the film, Sos correspondent Michael Ryan was able to view this film at Fantasia 2012, and his review can be read here.

Uneasy comedic elements, amateur performances, sketchy scripting and aggressive misogyny abound. Directed by: Jennifer Lynch
Written by: Jennifer Lynch, Damian O'Donnell
Featuring: Vincent D'Onofrio, Eamon Farren, Julia Ormond, Gina Philips, Jake Weber
With Chained, Jennifer Lynch offers what she does best: a dark and complex character study wrapped in a carefully paced thriller.
The story is quite simple; one day, a woman and her 8-year-old son go to the theater to watch a movie. When they come out, they decide to take a cab home, but things get suspicious when the driver (Vincent D'Onofrio) doesn't listen to their directions and takes them to his place instead. There, he locks the boy in the car while he drags the woman inside his house to presumably rape and kill her. Then, he proceeds to chain the boy and force him to become his slave, having him do housework and dispose of the bodies of the women he picks up in his cab, then rapes and kills.
