- (1991) Nana Patekar had written a script about a politician (Amitabh Bachchan) and his mentally challenged younger brother (Kamal Hassan). The film was titled "Yagna" and Nana Patekar was going to direct the film. The movie was dropped when Amitabh decided Khuda Gawah would be his last release.

- (2004) Nana Patekar was to turn director for a Ram Gopal Varma production titled "Jumman". Nana was playing the role of a butcher and was going to shave his head. It was to be a musical film and the focus was to be on the folk music of Maharashtra. The project was for unknown reasons called off.

- (1991) Nana Patekar had written a beautiful script about a politician (Amitabh Bachchan) and his mentally challenged younger brother (Kamal Hassan). The film was titled "Yagya" and Nana Patekar was going to direct the film.There were plans to also sign Dimple Kapadia and Madhuri Dixit. The movie was dropped when Amitabh decided Khuda Gawah would be his last release. Nana had plans to restart the film with himself in the lead in 2001. All plans were once again dropped
- (2001) Nana Patekar was in discussion for a film titled "Ramanan". He stated " I may also be doing a Malayalam film based on the life of the famous Malayalee poet C.K Pillai and his friend E. Raghavan Pillai, who committed suicide after a failed love affair at 23. "Ramanan' is C.K. Pillai's eulogy to his friend. Pillai was the Keats of Kerala. And it is uncanny that he looks exactly like me. Of course he too died tragically in his 30s.". The project later was called off.
