The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has struck a deal for Fireworks International to handle worldwide distribution of this year's Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony. For decades, international sales of the Primetime Emmy telecast had been handled by Berle Adams, a veteran TV sales executive who has retired. Toronto-based Fireworks was chosen in part because of its clout in the international marketplace and the ties that its parent company, CanWest Entertainment, has with TV outlets worldwide, ATAS president Todd Leavitt said.
