The widow of Jurassic Park and E.R. creator Michael Crichton is seeking an additional $7 million (£4.7 million) from the estate of the late filmmaker as part of the couple's prenuptial agreement.
The author lost his battle with cancer last November, aged 66.
Sherri Alexander, his wife of three-and-a-half years, was six months pregnant with their son at the time of his death.
According to court documents filed on Friday in Los Angeles County Superior Court, the couple signed a prenuptial agreement on 22 April, 2005, which promised Alexander $1 million (£666,670) per year for nine years. She received a reported $2 million (£1.3 million) at the time of Crichton's death.
The agreement states Alexander is to receive the remainder of the $9 million (£6 million) in one payment in the event of Crichton's death, reports TMZ.com.
