Movie Newz via The Man Of Steel Facebook Page has learned that Fringe actor Michael Cerveris is being considered for the role of Lex Luthor. According to the site his role in Man of Steel would likely just be a cameo if at all, with him being featured as a major villain in the sequel. To add some validity to the story Snyder used Fringe’s Casting Director Michelle Allen on Man of Steel as well as his last film Sucker Punch. From Movie Newz: Character actor Michael Cerveris, best known for playing The Observer on the Fox television show ‘Fringe’, can be added to the list of names being considered for the role of Superman’s arch-nemeses Lex Luthor, however, the self-proclaimed “Greatest criminal mind of our time” wont likely appear until the Man of Steel follow-up. Throughout the last couple of weeks, we’ve been bombarded with unofficial behind the scenes images, video and details from a few of the most highly anticipated movies hitting theaters over the next 12 months. Of course I’m talking about director Christopher Nolan‘s forthcoming batflick The Dark Knight Rises, director Joss Whedon‘s super her team-up The Avengers, and director Zack Snyder‘s Superman film, Man of Steel.

The Warner Bros. film starring Henry Cavill as the Man of Steel will be holding open casting calls in Nanaimo and Ucluelet on Vancouver Island. Amy Adams, Diane Lane, Kevin Costner, Michael Shannon, Antje Traue, Julia Ormond, Russell Crowe, Chris Meloni, Harry Lennix and Laurence Fishburne complete the cast of the D.C. Entertainment superhero. "Man of Steel" will fly to theaters on June 14, 2013.
Right now, the film is seeking local people as extras, this will be fully paid work. "Man of Steel" will move its production to British Columbia from Chicago on September 21, 2011 and will continue filming in the area until January 20, 2012.

VancouverFilm.Net confirms that "Autumn Frost", the working title of the currently shooting, $175 million Warners/Legendary motion picture "Superman: Man Of Steel", is now scheduled to start filming in Vancouver September 21/11 to Jan 20/12.
Canadian casting is by Michelle Allen, with background co-ordinated by Andrea Brown.
Using Chicago as a backdrop, "Autumn Frost" started principal photography in the Us, August 1, 2011.
