- Director, writer, producer, actor, and editor Lemuel Firth Amero was born on September 24, 1937 in Gloucester, Massachusetts. His father John was a fisherman while his mother Gladys was a housewife. Following graduation from Gloucester High School in 1955, Lem moved to New York City and worked as a stage manager at various nightclubs including the Bal Tabarin on West 46th Street. Moreover, Amero also spent several seasons in summer stock acting and stage managing at the upstate Lake George Playhouse. Lem acted in his first soft-core film in 1964. In the mid-1960's Lem and his younger brother John Amero formed their own production company Amero Brothers. The Amero brothers initially made soft-core movies before graduating to more explicit hardcore fare in the early 1970's and continued to make X-rated films up until the mid-1980's. Lem died in New York at the tragically young age of 51 on August 5, 1989 from an AIDS-related illness.- IMDb Mini Biography By: woodyanders
