Multi-hyphenate Nicole Ansari-Cox has a lot going on.
The London-based actor, producer, writer and activist just shot Southern Italy-set rom-com “Under the Stars” directed by Michelle Danner where she stars alongside Toni Colette, Andy Garcia and Alex Pettyfer. In addition, she appears in Austrian director Kat Rohrer’s “What a Feeling” that premiered recently at the BFI Flare: London Lgbtqia+ Film Festival. And Ansari-Cox is on the production team for “Glenrothan,” the upcoming directorial debut of her husband Brian Cox.

Spoiler alert: The following article contains “Succession” series finale spoilers.
After four celebrated seasons of in-fighting, scheming and brilliantly scripted family drama, HBO’s “Succession” came to an end on Sunday with the Roy family battling for control of their the media conglomerate empire, Waystar Royco.
The series finale saw the Roy siblings share a few rare moments of unity and collaboration, but built to some surprising backstabs and unexpected breakdowns that left fans reeling.
The centerpiece of the standout moments revolved around some unexpected twists. After Roman (Kieran Culkin) and Shiv (Sarah Snook) came together to put their support behind Kendall (Jeremy Strong) in their last-ditch effort to stop GoJo from buying out Waystar Royco, Shiv pulled off one of the show’s most ultimate switch-up betrayals.
When it came down the final vote, Shiv turned on Kendall and accused him of killing someone — referring to the events that...

This post contains spoilers for the latest episode of "Succession."
When Logan Roy's ex-wives and mistresses gathered in the pews of a New York City church to mourn the angry, powerful man they loved, it was a quietly powerful moment in a "Succession" episode full of them. Viewers knew three of the four women who made up the front row of funeral attendees: there was Marcia (Hiam Abbass), Logan's current wife who left on a permanent shopping trip, only to return to assert her dominance in the wake of his death. There was Kerry (Zoe Winters), Logan's assistant-turned-rumored lover who proved herself a terrible news anchor when he was alive and a genuinely emotional person once he died. And then there was Lady Caroline (Harriet Walter), the icy, aristocratic mother of Kendall, Shiv, and Roman.

This article contains spoilers for season 4 episode 9 of Succession.
Succession’s Logan Roy (Brian Cox) is well known for his complicated relationships with the women in his life, keeping them at arm’s length until they are no longer useful to him. There are very few people that Logan respects in general, but even women within the inner circle of Waystar like Gerri (J. Smith Cameron) and Karolina (Dagmara Dominczyk) don’t seem to be taken as seriously as they should be. As Shiv (Sarah Snook) so eloquently puts it during her eulogy at Logan’s funeral, “he couldn’t fit a whole woman in his head.” This sentiment couldn’t be more clear in one of the best scenes of the episode that saw Shiv, Kendall (Jeremy Strong), and Roman’s (Kieran Culkin) mother Caroline (Harriet Walter) bring all of Logan’s former wives and mistresses front and center for the ceremony.

[This story contains major spoilers from the penultimate episode of Succession, “Church and State.”]
At last, Succession said goodbye to its “dear, dear world of a father,” as the HBO drama’s various players gathered together for the funeral of Logan Roy (Brian Cox). Filmed in New York City’s Church of St. Ignatius Loyola on the Upper East Side, the funeral sequence at the heart of the series’ penultimate episode, “Church and State,” stands out as one of the most opulent scenes in this most opulent series, with hundreds on hand to witness siblings Kendall (Jeremy Strong), Roman (Kieran Culkin), Shiv (Sarah Snook) and Connor (Alan Ruck) bid their father farewell.
Leading the procession was Mark Mylod, the longtime Succession director and executive producer responsible for bringing some of the Emmy-winning series’ most important episodes to life, not the least of which was Logan’s death episode, “Connor’s Wedding.” The stakes raise ever higher in “Church and State,...

It appears Brian Cox might be walking away from Succession with a little more Logan Roy left in him than his wife would prefer.
Cox stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday (22 March) night to discuss the farewell season of the hit HBO Max series when he dropped an accidental f-bomb – in true Logan fashion.
“I love endings. I love getting the f*** finished with it,” the Scottish actor said, sending the audience and host Fallon into a fit of laughter.
Cox jumped in to apologise for his “language” before Fallon responded: “No, no, I don’t know what we can leave in, to be honest!”
“It’s what I call the Logan Roy disease, and I’ve been affected by it,” Cox quipped. “My wife’s nearly divorcing me because of it.”

“Succession” star Brian Cox gushed about wife Nicole Ansari-Cox at Series Mania, after she expressed solidarity with women of Iran at the fest’s opening, demonstrating the slogan “Woman, Life, Freedom” to the photographers.
“My wife is half Iranian and she was one of the first people to cut her hair as part of the protest. We are living in such a difficult, dangerous time, particularly for women. In Afghanistan, in Iran. It’s unacceptable. I am very proud of my wife: She is a very strong woman with very strong opinions, and she taught me so much,” Cox told Variety during a roundtable interview.
“For me, the patriarchy has failed. Miserably. It’s time for the matriarchy and I really mean it. It’s time for men to step down and get the f**k out of the way. It has become ridiculous, with what we are seeing in Ukraine,...

French TV festival Series Mania started out playfully with a slew of humorous digs directed at its starry guests during the opening ceremony, including Brian Cox, back in town to hold a masterclass and introduce the latest episode of his smash hit “Succession.”

Series Mania general director Laurence Herszberg joined in on the fun, giving a shoutout to “Emily in Paris’s” Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, attending with co-star Arnaud Binard: “She became a symbol of a Parisian woman. I hope there isn’t too much weight on your shoulders, Philippine!”

Although he occasionally uses a broad brush dipped in primary colors while fashioning his admiring portrait of Bob Zellner, the grandson of a Ku Klux Klansman who improbably evolved into a civil rights activist during the early 1960s, filmmaker Barry Alexander Brown shrewdly and intelligently avoids most of the “white savior” clichés common to such scenarios in “Son of the South.” Based on Zellner’s memoir “The Wrong Side of Murder Creek: A White Southerner in the Freedom Movement,” and available starting Feb. 5 in limited theatrical runs and on digital platforms, Brown’s well-crafted and period-persuasive biopic strikes a dramatically sound and emotionally satisfying balance between the moral awakening of its white protagonist and his relationships with sometimes encouraging, sometimes skeptical Black leaders and foot soldiers.
The movie’s opening minutes indicate just how dangerous it could be for a white Southerner to be viewed as a “race traitor” in the days of segregation,...
