The nominees are in for the 60th Annual Grammy Awards, and music's biggest night will feature some of your favorite artists ...though some were snubbed.
Singer-songwriter Andra Day announced the four major categories -- Best New Artist, Record Of The Year, Song Of The Year, and Album Of The Year -- on Tuesday's CBS This Morning.
As far as snubs go, Ed Sheeran was only nominated for Best Pop Solo Performance for his track, "Shape of You," to the shock of many of his fans. Lady Gaga and Kesha also received minimal nominations, despite the popularity of their albums.
However, Jay-Z and Kendrick Lamar earned quite a few Grammy nods, as well as Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee's "Despacito" song that features Justin Bieber.

As horror fans, we are constantly seeking out the new and the different. Because the genre is marked by so much sameness—sequels, franchises, remakes, copies of copies—it can sometimes be a challenge to find those horror films that truly carve out their own space. They don’t even have to be great movies, necessarily; many times, “different” is enough to make us happy.
With that in mind, here are 10 horror movies currently available on the terrific streaming service Shudder that are, if nothing else, different from almost anything else you’ll watch this October. They vary in quality from title to title, but what even the roughest among them lacks in technical polish, it more than makes up for in sheer maniac insanity. After you’ve cycled through all your favorites this October, why not add a little Wtf to your lineup?

Before James Gunn started working with Marvel and launched the Guardians of the Galaxy film franchise, he made a crazy horror film called Slither. This would such a wonderfully demented horror film filled with all kinds of nasty blood and gore. Who would have thought at the time that Slither was released that Gunn would have ended up directing two of the best Marvel films!?
The 2006 film is now making its Blu-ray debut thanks to Scream Factory, who is releasing it as a Deluxe Collector's Edition on August 1st. As you might imagine it's going to be packed full of bonus feature for fans to enjoy including commentary by Gunn and stars Nathan Fillion and Michael Rooker. That should be fun to listen to while watching the movie!!
The sleepy town of Wheelsy could be any small town in America — somewhat quaint and gentle, peopled with friendly folks who mind their own business. But just beneath the surface charm, something unnamed and evil has arrived…and is growing. Intent on devouring all life on Earth, this dark and slimy entity is infecting anyone in its path. Now it’s up to the local sheriff, Bill Pardy (Nathan Fillion, Firefly, Castle), and his team to stop the spread of rampant devastation – and shocking mutilation – before it’s too late. This outrageously funny horror film also stars Michael Rooker (Guardians of the Galaxy, The Walking Dead), Elizabeth Banks (The Hunger Games, Pitch Perfect) and Gregg Henry (Body Double, Jason Bourne).
The full list of bonus Features include:
New Audio Commentary with writer/director James Gunn and actors Nathan Fillion and Michael RookerNEW The Genesis of Slither – an interview with writer/director James GunnNEW The Other MacReady – an interview with actor Gregg HenryAudio commentary with James Gunn and Nathan FillionDeleted and extended scenes with optional commentary by James GunnVisual Effects: Step by StepSlithery Set Tour with actor Nathan FillionThe Sick Minds and Slimy Days of SLITHERBrewing the Blood – How to Make BloodBringing Slither’s Creatures to LifeLloyd Kaufman’s Video DiaryGag ReelWho is Bill Pardy? featuretteTheatrical Trailer

The annual pilgrimage to the Beacon Theatre became a winter event that my friends and I relished each and every March, something to brighten up the dull blues of winter. The Allman Brothers Band were more than just a "jam" band. And while they defined the Southern Rock ethos and kick-started the whole jam band movement, they were more than that. Yes, they were improvisational monsters, but they also wrote and played highly melodic music, music that stands the test of time; and they owned the covers they performed as well. Only The Grateful Dead could rival them as a live act with staying power, albeit cast in a different Americana psychedlic haze.
Yes, they had weathered the storm of plenty of internal band drama during the '70s, '80s and most of the '90s. They lost their lead guitarist guru Brother Duane Allman in a motorcycle accident...

After an unverified Facebook post fueled rumors that rock legend Gregg Allman has entered hospice care, he let “everyone” know he is A-ok. “Hey everyone. I just wanted y’all to know that I’m currently home in Savannah resting on my doctor’s orders,” the singer-songwriter said in his own Facebook message, labeled “A message from Gregg.” He went on: “I want to thank you for all the love that you are sending. Looking forward to seeing everyone again. Keep Rockin’.” The 69-year-old rocker has been battling largely undisclosed health issues in the past few years, keeping many of the details surrounding the.

It sounds like an unenviable task: Make a show about suicide that handles the subject matter sensitively, while also being entertaining. Netflix’s “13 Reasons Why” strikes that delicate balance, and according to its young stars Dylan Minnette (“Prisoners”) and Katherine Langford, all credit goes to the powerhouse creative team behind this gripping drama.
Based on Jay Asher’s young adult novel and created by Tony-winning playwright Brian Yorkey (“Next to Normal”), with “Spotlight” director Tom McCarthy as executive producer, “13 Reasons Why” tells the story of 16-year-old Hannah Baker (Langford), a vibrant young girl who shocks everyone who knew her when she takes her own life. In lieu of a suicide note, Hannah leaves behind 13 cassette tapes, with each side detailing a reason and person who led her to suicide. As the tapes get passed around to the people named, a shy boy named Clay Jensen (Minnette), who had a crush on Hannah,...

It took two obscure poets for Sarah Treem to accept that her show was a love story. The showrunner discovered 20th century writers Linda Gregg and Jack Gilbert, who wrote from differing points of view about their relationship, just as she and her writing staff were developing the major story arcs for Season 3 of the Showtime drama, and she was realizing how her perception of the show had changed.
“[Gregg]’s writing about their divorce and [Gilbert]’s writing about their divorce, and it’s really like our show, in that you would never believe that it was the same story,” she said to IndieWire during the Television Critics Association press tour. “It’s like, ‘Oh right, it’s a love story.’ It’s not a fairy tale love story, but it’s still a love story.”

Clark Gregg, star of ABC’s Agents of Shield, recently hinted at an ABC/Neflix crossover for the Marvel small-screen properties, which is good news for all the people who are disgruntled that there are no characters from the Netflix shows or Agents of Shield due to appear in any McU film in the near future. Could TV’s Agents of Shield be planning a crossover with the Netflix shows?
At NY Comic-Com last month, Clark Gregg--who stars as Agent Phil Coulson on Agents of Shield--had this to say on the subject of cross-overs between the McU properties of Netflix and ABC TV; “At some point, I think it will start to cross more. Now that we’re at 10 O’clock, we’re heading in a darker direction, which means it will fit a little bit better with the other properties. So there’s going to be lots...

Seeking out the ghosts who have become regular characters on TV shows, the more memorable ones aren't terribly interested in scaring the heck out of us.
Not that you'd know that if you took to all the "reality" shows where hunters are out looking for ghosts and apparitions. Their stories are usually about murder and mayhem.
The ones down below? They want to help. Cheer people up. Point lost souls in the right direction. Take a look!
1. Moira - American Horror Story: Murder House Moira was both young and hot and older and suffering depending upon when she was being seen and by whom. That's because she died at the hands of a less-than-trustworthy fella. She despises cheaters and sympathizes with women, especially those who are living with men who would fall for her sexy side. I can dig it. 2. Dennis - Angel Dennis Pearson was murdered by his mother in Cordelia's apartment,...

Thanks to a brand spanking new official synopsis for Marvel's Agent's of S.H.I.E.L.D. we now know exactly when to expect to meet Robbie Reyes, aka Ghost Rider. And the wait won't be long.
When fans initially heard that the premiere of the fourth season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was titled "The Ghost," some thought it would have something to do with Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg). Turns out, that title has everything to do with Ghost Rider (Gabriel Luna), and it looks like the character is going to loom very large this season.
But that's not all. Included in the official synopsis for the new season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is some interesting casting news. We've known for some time that Robbie's brother Gabe will be an important part of the story, but we didn't know who'd be playing him. Turns out that ABC tapped Fear The Walking Dead...

There are endless ways to adapt Shakespeare to film, but it’s safe to say nobody’s doing it today with greater innovation than Matias Piñero. In four of his five spry features to date, the Argentine has depicted contemporary stories of young people facing a variety of challenges intertwined with Shakespearean texts. Piñero weaves the source material through his narratives in clever, unexpected fashion, from the romantic entanglements amid a rehearsal of “Twelfth Night” in “Viola” to the podcast adaptation of “Love’s Labour Lost” in “The Princess of France.” His latest, “Hermia & Helena,” finds a young woman adrift in New York while working on a translation of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.” It’s the director’s first English-language production, but that’s not the only big change in his most intriguing effort to date.
“Hermia & Helena” dwells less on the parallels between a classical text and modern...

Special effects legend Ray Harryhausen, whose dazzling and innovative visual effects work on fantasy adventure films such as Jason And The Argonauts and The 7th Voyage Of Sinbad passed away in 2013 at age 92. In 1933, the then-13-year-old Ray Harryhausen saw King Kong at a Hollywood theater and was inspired – not only by Kong, who was clearly not just a man in a gorilla suit, but also by the dinosaurs. He came out of the theatre “stunned and haunted. They looked absolutely lifelike … I wanted to know how it was done.” It was done by using stop-motion animation: jointed models filmed one frame at a time to simulate movement. Harryhausen was to become the prime exponent of the technique and its combination with live action. The influence of Harryhausen on film luminaries like Steven Spielberg, George Lucas, Peter Jackson, and...

Coulson’s latest mission is a real drag.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. star Clark Gregg slips into his finest stewardess duds for an unforgettable — and, honestly, really impressive — performance of Britney Spears’ “Toxic” on Thursday’s episode of Lip Sync Battle (Spike TV, 10/9c).

Between his shimmying, the use of props and all that hairography, you have to wonder if this is what Coulson has been training for all this time. And if that reaction from Hayley Atwell — the Agent Carter star serves as Gregg’s competition — is any indication,...

For most people, it would be an honor to be portrayed by Nicole Kidman in a movie. But Pamela Smart doesn't think so - and says that Kidman's performance in the 1996 movie To Die For is embarrassing and inaccurate. In 1990, Smart was a working as a media coordinator at a high school but dreaming of becoming a journalist. But she was later convicted of conspiring with her teenaged lover that year to kill her husband, Gregg Smart. The teen, William "Billy" Flynn, pleaded guilty to second degree murder and testified against Smart. She is serving a life sentence at Bedford...

Let’s talk remakes again. Our series continues as we look at a remake which is just as good--and maybe better--than the original. Cinelinx goes ape this week as we look at the 1998 remake of Mighty Joe Young.
As cinematic simians go, Joe Young is not as well remembered as King Kong or Caesar from the Planet of the Apes films, but the original 1948 film has enough of a cult following to rate a remake, which came out exactly 50 years later.
The 1948 version of Mighty Joe Young was made by some of the same people as the classic King Kong (1933) was. It had the same writer (Ruth Rose), one of the same lead actors (Robert Armstrong) and the guy who did the Kong SFX (Willis O’Brien.) Fun Fact: O’Brien trained FX legend Ray Harryhausen, who also worked on this film as Willis’ First Tech. But I digress. The...

With one more episode to go until the Christmas break, Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. is stepping it up a notch…
This review contains spoilers.
3.9 Closure
Well, that escalated quickly. What began with a romantic evening in that made me really fancy a burger, this week, ended with an impromptu skydive through a castle into a portal and onto an alien planet. Indeed, Coulson’s actions in the final minutes of Closure were the kind of events you could imagine Jason Statham recalling in Spy.
Closure, truly, was a testament to what can be achieved in an hour of network telly. The next time Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. starts treading water with a nothing-really-happens filler episode, I’ll doubtlessly type out something along the lines of “remember the time that Rosalind got murdered, Coulson went on a revenge rampage, robbed a bank, put a gun to Ward’s brother’s head,...

Bella Thorne just put an unnamed Hollywood mean girl on blast, and now the Internet is working hard to uncover her identity.
The Midnight Sun actress dished about this real life Regina George in Seventeen Magazine's December 2015/January 2016 issue. While she chose not to name the bully, she did leave a trail of clues.
"She's in the business, and she's very, very mean. I stay away from her at all costs. I never say hello to her," Thorne, 18, told the magazine.
"Her siblings are not mean like she is. It's just her," she adds. "One of the reasons I don't...

It’s fair to say that Noel Fielding is one of the more surreal comedians that has come out of the UK. Surreal but never boring. Coming to most people’s attention with The Mighty Boosh, then going a little too odd with Luxury Comedy it is fair to say he can be hit and miss at times. An Evening with Noel Fielding though is some of his best work. (Oh and Luxury Comedy got a lot better in the second season when it started to make more sense).
An Evening with Noel Fielding is a stand-up comedy act, but with added weirdness from some of the characters he’s created such as The Moon, and my personal favourite Fantasy Man. With a style of comedy that goes “meta” at times, it’s a show that while surreal actually works well.

Spoilers for Star Trek and Star Trek Into Darkness lie ahead.
Like their forerunners, the two latest Star Trek films, in their semi-rebooted, alternative universe, are replete with famous faces from outside the franchise, surprising cameos and multiple little touches that raise a smile.
With the third film in the rebooted series coming next year, the 50th anniversary of the debut of Star Trek on TV in 1966, let's take a look at a few of the geeky nods in Jj's Trek films.
1. Star Trek Nemesis left a lot of dangling threads, on purpose, as a story treatment for a direct sequel was already being worked on. Unfortunately due to some less than stellar decisions by executives, the release date of the film was repositioned and the decision...
