Since releasing on PC in February 2016, Stardew Valley has racked up critical praise and substantial sales numbers. Console gamers have been kept in the dark, but fortunately, good news has arrived. Creator Eric Barone has announced that the farming simulator will be coming to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in December.
Inspired by the long-running Harvest Moon franchise, Stardew Valley is about learning how to live the farming life. After inheriting their grandfather’s old farm, players are tasked with transforming the dilapidated piece of land into a bustling source of prosperity. Of course, there’s more to this lifestyle than just tending to crops and animals. You’ll be able to explore the surrounding town, get to know your neighbors, and even start a family with your sweetheart.
Even when acknowledging Marvelous’ popular series, Stardew Valley is somewhat of an anomaly in today’s gaming landscape. In talking about the port,...

After taking the PC market by storm, with 830,000 downloads and lots of great word of mouth, the retro-inspired farming game, Stardew Valley, may be on its way to consoles.
During a discussion with Mvc, Stardew Valley developer Eric Barone stated that he’s currently attempting to get his hit game to consoles, though nothing is set in stone.
“I’m currently in discussion with several companies that are interested in helping me bring Stardew Valley to consoles,” said Barone.
It would certainly be nice if Stardew Valley migrated its crops to the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and/or Wii U, because there’s surely a market for it. After all, not only has it received good reviews, but it’s also drawn comparisons to the great Harvest Moon games of yesteryear, of which I was a big fan. After all, it’s a game based around cultivating one’s own crops,...
