Chris Beaumont(I)
- Actor
Born in Sussex, England, and raised on the south coast. Gained a B.A.
Hons in Drama from Bretton Hall College in 1981 and immediately started
work at The Connaught Theatre in Worthing, West Sussex. Has worked in
TV, Theatre and Film since that time as an actor, theatre director and
producer and is again seen to be working in the industry after a ten
year sabbatical running his own music and theatre venue cunningly
disguised as a pub in Brighton, England. With his theatre production
company, Hanover Productions (1996-2003), Beaumont produced and/or
directed five shows including: (1997) "2nd Honeymoon - The Musical"
based on the iconic cult album of the same name from Liverpool based
band Deaf School; (2001) "Brighton Rock" adapted by Terry James from
Graham Greene's classic novel; (1999) "Pistols" by Malcolm McKay;
(2002-3) "The Man With The Golden Pen" written by and starring Mark
Burgess as Ian Fleming; (2000) "Withnail and I" - the first and
probably only ever stage adaptation of Bruce Robinson's legendary film
starring Richard E Grant. Mark Burgess playing the lead role in
Beaumont's production which won awards at the Brighton Festival. Having
worked mostly in theatre during the first twenty two years of his
career he is now able to concentrate on more TV and film work.
