Moranis, 67, who has kept a relatively low-profile recently made a surprise appearance and offered a nostalgic blast from the past when he appeared in a Mint Mobile ad alongside Ryan Reynolds.
The Honey I Shrunk the Kids star left Hollywood to focus on raising his children after his wife, costume designer Ann Belsky died of breast cancer in 1991.
Rick Moranis hasn’t made any appearances on film since the 2008 Canadian TV movie, Bob & Doug McKenzie's Two-Four Anniversary.
The actor reportedly became famous when he appeared in 1984’s Ghostbusters alongside Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray and Harold Ramis.
Ryan Reynolds, who owns Mint Mobile and also appears in the ad, took to Twitter where he shared the Mint Mobile clip announcing Rick’s cameo, telling 2020 to "suck it."

Rick Moranis’ long-standing Hollywood hiatus is over, as the actor is set to revisit his Honey, I Shrunk the Kids role.
The reboot, which will star Josh Gad as his character’s son years later, makes for Moranis’ first big-screen role since 1996’s Big Bully.
