Owen Wilson appears to be channeling his inner Bob Ross in the first trailer for IFC Films’ upcoming comedy Paint.
Director Brit McAdams’ film is set for release on April 7 and stars Wilson as Carl Nargle, the beloved host of a long-running instructional painting series on Vermont public television. Trouble arises when a younger painter played by Ciara Renée is hired to attract a different demographic, exacerbating Carl’s deep-seated insecurities about his own artistic talents.
“You’re entitled to your favorite TV show — that’s what makes this country great,” a frustrated Carl begrudgingly admits in the trailer just before he is seen hurling a can of paint at a wall.
The footage also shows Wilson’s character receiving plenty of attention from female supporters, including an awkward moment involving a fondue outing with one particularly devoted fan.
Paint’s cast includes Michaela Watkins, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Lusia Strus and Stephen Root.

Bob Ross now has his very own Aline Dieu. The teaser trailer for IFC’s upcoming comedy film “Paint” has been released, featuring Owen Wilson as “Carl Nagyl,” a fictional character that more than slightly resembles beloved television icon Ross.
Like Ross, who hosted PBS’ instructional art program “The Joy of Painting” from 1983 to 1994, the fictional Nagyl is a permed public television host of a program teaching viewers how to paint, with a knack for soothing narration.
While the late Ross’ image and show are the clear inspiration for Nagyl, the film itself tells a completely original story, one that portrays Nagyl as a womanizing, fame-obsessed man behind his gentle onscreen persona.
Although Nagyl is initially riding high as one of the top talents of his public Vermont TV studio, the film finds him hitting a rough patch in ratings, prompting the studio to bring in a new younger artist...

IFC has dropped the trailer and art for its upcoming comedy “Paint,” and leading man Owen Wilson goes full-on Bob Ross mode in it.
The film stars Wilson as Carl Nagyl, Vermont’s top TV painter who has everything going for him, from a fanbase to a van and even a perm, until a younger artist takes his spotlight. Nagyl is reminiscent of beloved TV icon Bob Ross, who led PBS’ instructional TV program “The Joy of Painting” from 1983 to 1994. He passed away in 1995 at 52 years old.
Wilson leads the film, having been previously featured in “Zoolander,” “The Royal Tenenbaums,” “Bottle Rocket,” “Loki” and “The French Dispatch.” The actor also has the upcoming film “Haunted Mansion” on his docket with Jamie Lee Curtis, Jared Leto and Winona Ryder.
Joining the Oscar-nominated star, the “Paint” cast includes Michaela Watkins, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Ciara Renée, Lusia Strus, Stephen Root and newcomer Lucy Freyer.

Exclusive: Lucy Freyer has joined the cast of Brit McAdams’ Paint, starring Owen Wilson, Michaela Watkins, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Ciara Renée, Lusia Strus and Stephen Root.
The comedic feature centers on Carl Nargle (Wilson), who has hosted Vermont’s #1 painting show for nearly three decades. While Carl’s signature whisper has long kept viewers from Pittsfield to St. Albans breathlessly hanging on his every stroke, the station eventually hires a younger, better painter who steals everything (and everyone) Carl loves.
In the film, which is currently in production, Freyer plays the eager and impressionable Jenna, an employee at Carl’s studio who is also his latest girlfriend. Like the women before her, she’s captivated by Carl’s gentle charm, but is starting to realize that she’s doing things she doesn’t believe in just to gain his affection.
McAdams wrote the script for Paint, which made The Black List.

Ellen Pompeo, one of the highest-paid actors on television, with a $20 million annual contract for her long-running role on “Grey’s Anatomy,” has sold a 1920s Spanish villa positioned high on an elevated double lot in the historic Whitley Heights neighborhood in the foothills above Hollywood for tad less than $2.8 million. Property records show the new owner as Sandra J. Brant, long-ago ex-wife of contemporary art-collecting industrialist Peter Brant; long-time partner and widow of vaunted writer, editor and culture critic Ingrid Sischy; and, as the former CEO and publisher of now-shuttered Interview magazine, a member of the art- and literature-centric international glitterati.
With many intact and restored period details such as stone balustrades and gilt-trimmed ceiling beams, the just shy of 2,500-square-foot two-bedroom and two-bathroom residence was acquired by Pompeo close to 13 years ago for $1.35 million. On May 10, collector Peter Brant hosted hundreds of art-world revelers at his Greenwich estate — he set up a big tent out on the polo field for them, gave them lots to drink, and fed them lots of lamb — to celebrate the opening of a show of work by artist Rob Pruitt. Brant hosts this field trip twice a year for this teeming mass of dealers, artists, collectors, journalists, critics, fashion types, and scenesters — oh, and a smattering of celebrities, too. (His dealer, Gavin Brown, is also known to be a tad mischievous: On Sunday, he hired party buses equipped with stripper poles, loaded them up with Prosecco, and unleashed two full loads of gloriously weird downtown art kids upon the tony countryside gala.) The show also included one of Pruitt's "flea markets," with the proceeds benefiting Bard College. This time the flea market was just full of...

Kendall Jenner has a new modeling gig! The 18-year-old reality star just landed a spot in Givenchy's Fall 2014 campaign. In the new promo photo, Jenner appears alongside models Mariacarla Boscono, Jamie Bochert and Peter Brant. Kendall's pretty hard to spot in this ad though, that's her in the bottom left corner! Luckily, she's a little easier to pick out in another sneak peek momager Kris Jenner posted on Instagram with the caption "To die for!"While the "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" star is definitely a model in her own right -- she's walked runways for Chanel and Marc Jacobs -- it does help to have friends in high places! Givenchy designer Riccardo Tisci created sister Kim Kardashian's stunning wedding dress just this year and hubby Kanye West is also a big fan of the brand too. Kendall also walked in the Givenchy runway show back in March.

Stephanie Seymour and Naomi Campbell certainly know how to put the super in supermodel! Both in their forties, the former catwalk queens proved their bikini bods are just as incredible as ever during recent holiday vacations. Seymour, 45, hit the shores of St. Bart's in a tiny floral two-piece that showed off her toned form over the weekend. Rocking wet strands and no makeup, the former Victoria's Secret Angel and Sports Illustrated model looked picture perfect as she logged a little fun in the sun with hubby Peter Brant. And this isn't the first time Seymour shown us how kind time has been to her figure. Earlier in her vacation, the bathing beauty suited up in a tiny seashell-print bikini that...

Stephanie Seymour showed off her svelte bikini body in St. Barts during a family beach outing on Saturday. The mother of four donned a bright patterned two-piece as she walked in the sand and bonded with her husband, businessman Peter Brant, and their daughter, Lily, in the water. Stephanie kicked off her annual Winter family vacation in St. Barts last week when she gathered with her little ones by a pool to get in a bit of bikini time. The supermodel mom walked around her terrace in a pink two-piece and later covered up in a matching sarong to write a note while lounging next to her King Charles spaniel. Stephanie and Peter have been taking their entire family to St. Barts for several years. Typically, they spend Christmas and New Year's Day in the warm comfort of the tropical locale alongside the many stars who float into the tony vacation spot.

She's been naked for Playboy ... and donned itsy-bitsy bikinis for Sports Illustrated ... so it's no wonder Stephanie Seymour wasn't shy when it came to trying on lingerie in Italy yesterday. The 45-year-old model grabbed some racy outfits while shopping at Agent Provocateur in Milan with her 66-year-old husband Peter Brant ... and tried them on right in front of the store window. It was awesome. Fyi -- Peter Brant is a paper mogul who happens to be a frickin' Billionaire!

As Americans across the country reacted to news about President Barack Obama's reelection, one young member of the 1 percent took to Instagram to make a very public, very unwise joke.
It all started when Peter Brant II, the 18-year-old son of publishing mogul Peter Brant Sr. and supermodel Stephanie Seymour, began exchanging mocking text messages with friend Andrew Warren, Jezebel reports.
Warren, whose location on Twitter is listed as "NYC/Hamptons," joked that the election results were going to make him "poor," to which Brant replied, "I have a contingency plan. Kill Obama hahaha." The remark was then followed by a joke about women's rights.
Not wishing this witty exchange to remain just between the two friends, Brant took a screenshot and posted it to his Instagram. Comments were mixed, with someone feeling the joke was hilarious, and others feeling very much the opposite.
Warren took to Twitter to defend himself on Wednesday.

Stephanie Seymour showed off her supermodel figure on the beach in St. Barts yesterday. She's there on her annual holiday vacation with family, including on-again husband Peter Brant, and their kids. Stephanie raised a few eyebrows during last year's trip, when the bikini-clad model kissed and cuddled with her 17-year-old son Peter Jr. on the beach, though they were quick to shoot down any detractors saying that they are simply very close. Later in the year, Stephanie said that she had been feeling insecure over a 10 lb weight gain, so played up the affection with Peter Jr. to detract attention from that. Since then, Stephanie says she's been working out and was looking fantastic as she enjoyed the tropical weather with friends. View Slideshow ›...

Forbes is reporting that the higher-ups at the Bentley car company are not particularly thrilled about Paris Hilton being photographed by paparazzi cruising around in a bright pink Bentley Continental Gt.
This $212,800 car is designed to appeal to younger drivers with (obviously) a lot of money, but Hilton isn't exactly the ideal spokeswoman. An insider tells Forbes that while the company appreciates that "celebrities and influencers" buy its cars, but "there's a certain element still buying it possibly for very different reasons: the follow-on crowd who just said, 'Well, so-and-so is driving the car, so I want one.'"
To counteract spokespersons like Hilton, Bentley's recent marketing campaigns have featured Carine Roitfeld, the former editor of Vogue Paris; polo player/model Nacho Figueras; and Peter Brant, an art expert/collector.

Veteran supermodel Stephanie Seymour recently called police after an argument with her teenage son.
The 42-year-old beauty, who last year reconciled with her estranged husband Peter Brant and called off their divorce, fell out with 18-year-old Peter Jr. after allegedly cancelling a 4 July family visit.
Local police lieutenant Richard Cochran, of Greenwich, Connecticut, has now confirmed cops were called, but the incident was deemed to be a civil matter.
He tells the New York Post's gossip column Page Six, "The son was going to visit with the mom, and the mom cancelled... It was all civil in nature."...

Once and for all, Stephanie Seymour and her 18-year-old son, Peter Brant II, were not really engaged in a steamy lip-locking embrace. It was just role play. Yes. This whole thing just got a lot weirder. The 42-year-old model, who was snapped in January by sneaky photogs on a St. Bart's beach dressed in a bikini while strolling and kissing her eldest kid in what looked like a passionate clench, had dismissed the crazy talk about their affection on Oprah. Likewise, her son took to Facebook right afterwards to say they had "nothing to hide" and that not only is he not dating his mother, he wouldn't because he is openly gay. But now, Seymour is talking to Town & Country magazine, where she...

Former supermodel Stephanie Seymour and her husband Peter Brant are undergoing intensive therapy sessions as they attempt to rebuild their relationship after calling off their bitter divorce battle.
The retired catwalk beauty became embroiled in an ugly court dispute with the publishing mogul in the wake of their 2009 split as they attempted to thrash out the details of their separation and custody arrangements for their three children.
They were both ordered to undergo random drug testing at the other's request, while Seymour also accused her partner of spying on her. But last year, the warring couple decided to end the court battle amicably and give their marriage another try.
Seymour has now revealed she reached out to Brant after becoming convinced the public spat was being fuelled by their legal teams and they are now seeing counsellors in a bid to get their relationship back on track.
She tells America's Town & Country magazine, "The 'dirty fight' is all about winning, not healing. It's fueled (sic) by people you're paying. It is the lawyers talking and not you... (I told him) 'Let's get rid of all of these people. I have more confidence in you, and I would hope that deep down you would have more confidence in me, that we can work this out'...
