- Born in Louisville, Kentucky on July 1, 1906, Norman Breedlove was an avid deep sea fisherman, who loved both sailboats, and powerboats which he designed and built himself. Breedlove was very good at designing and then engineering his ideas into workable objects and often helped the Production Crews design movie sets. He was also quite good at making things look good and work, for example, he designed the awesome working sawed-off shotgun "trouble-shooter" toted by his friend Nick Adams (as Johnny Yuma) in his TV show, "The Rebel," on which Breedlove also provided Special Effects.
Married Hollywood actress/dancer Portia, In 1937 they had one child, Craig Breedlove, who was the World Land Speed record holder until 1983. Craig broke the world Speed World Record a total of five times, and was the first man to break 400mph, then 500mph and lastly 600mph miles per hour in his Spirit of America jet powered car.
Married stage and screen actress/singer/dancer Mary R. Stewart in November of 1946, and they had one child, Georgina Breedlove.
