According to new reports, Dan Trachtenberg will direct New Line's screen adaptation of the DC Vertigo comic book series, "Y: The Last Man", from a script treatment by Matthew Federman and Steven Scaia ("Warehouse 13").
Debuting in 2002, the series was published in sixty issues by Vertigo and collected in ten paperback volumes :
"July 17, 2002, a plague simultaneously kills every living mammal possessing a 'Y' chromosome — including embryos, fertilized eggs and sperm.
"The only exceptions appear to be New York residents 'Yorick Brown', a young amateur escape artist and his male Capuchin monkey, 'Ampersand'.
