Us drama Castle returned to Seven with season five premiering to preliminary overnight metro ratings of 753,000 last night .
The new episode aired at 7.45pm after Seven’s number one show The X Factor which won the night and rated 1.417m and 14th in total viewers according to OzTAM.
In its timeslot, Castle was third for total viewers, beaten by ABC’s Four Corners on 897,000 and Nine’s The Mentalist on 849,000, but beating Ten’s Can of Worms which rated 567,000.
In the key advertising demographics of 16-39, 18-49 and 25-54, Castle was third in its time slot behind The Mentalist and Can of Worms.

It’s a boy for Alexis Stewart!
Martha Stewart‘s daughter welcomed her second child, a son named Truman, who was born via surrogate on Tuesday, March 6, People confirms exclusively.
Truman arrived just in time to help big sister Jude celebrate her first birthday on Thursday.
Stewart, 46, struggled for five years to become a mom to Jude, who was also born via surrogate, arrived March 8 of last year.
“Getting Jude was lucky,” she told People at the time. “I’m happy, but this has been rough.”

Years Ago, we had a running joke at Fast Company: What if we tallied up all the game-changing ideas CEOs claimed had come from their 13-year-old kids? We could do a story on how middle schoolers were the secret sauce in America's innovation recipe!
Meant as a spoof of isn't-my-child-a-cute-genius-itis, the joke actually had a dash of merit. Of course middle schoolers would be our future innovators -- they would grow up, after all, and that space between their earbuds would become the seedbed for the businesses of the future.
Or maybe not. An alarming study released last year found that American kids' scores on tests measuring creativity have been steadily declining since 1990. The drop has serious implications for our nation's competitiveness. A 1999 Department of Labor report outlining skills needed...

The Art Directors Guild (Adg) gathered for the 14th Annual 'Excellence in 2009 Production Design Awards' February 13, @ the International Ballroom of the Beverly Hilton Hotel, Beverly Hills.
Established in 1937, The Art Directors Guild (Iatse Local 800) represents 2,000 members from the Us, Canada and internationally, as Production Designers, Art Directors, Assistant Art Directors, Scenic, Title and Graphic Artists, Illustrators, Matte Artists, Set Designers and Model Makers.
Over 700 attended the event, presided by Adg Chairman Thomas A. Walsh, with comedian Paula Poundstone hosting, starting off with a short film by director Cindy Peters.
