He appeared in vaudeville between 1911-1914, then joined the staff of music publishers, where he worked into 1926. He wrote the Broadway stage scores for "The Newlyweds and Their Baby", "The Matinee Idol", and "Adrienne" (for which he also wrote the libretto).
