Hugh Jackman has played Logan aka Wolverine in seven different films. It’s an impressive number that will shortly increase with a third solo Wolverine film and possibly X-Men:Apocalypse, although at the time of writing he has yet to be officially cast. A few other names are snapping at the heels of Jackman, notably the cast of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. If you include the forthcoming Avengers: Age of Ultron, Chris Evans has played Captain America four times (five if you include his appearance as Loki using magic to look like the first Avenger in Thor: The Dark World), Scarlett Johansson and Chris Hemsworth have portrayed Black Widow and Thor respectively four times each whilst the King of the McU, Robert Downey Jr. has made an impressive six appearances as Iron Man/Tony Stark (including his post-credit appearance in The Incredible Hulk).

Ellen Page has entered negotiations for Queen & Country.
The Juno actress will star in the adaptation of veteran writer Greg Rucka's espionage thriller comic, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Page will take on the role of MI6 operative Tara Chace whose cover is compromised after she carries out an assassination.
Oni Press published the series, which featured work from various artists including Scott Pilgrim's Bryan Lee O'Malley, Battlepug's Mike Norton, Carla Speed McNeil, Brian Hurtt and Chris Samnee.
Ryan Condal has written the script after previous attempts by Rucka and John Rogers.
Page was most recently seen in Touchy Feely and The East.
She will reprise another comic book role next year as Kitty Pryde in X-Men: Days of Future Past.
20th Century Fox is heading the Queen & Country adaptation.

Picking ten artists out of the vast array of talent working in comics today is an impossible task. These artists were chosen based on the uniqueness of their style compared to the “house” style of Marvel and DC, their ability to create character, setting, and plot through their art, and also on the quality of the covers that they’ve done. All of the artists on this list have regular interior work so artists like J.H. Williams, Bryan Lee O’Malley, and Alex Ross can’t be found here (even though Alex Ross’ Justice League is the cover image). Without further ado (and in honor of the late Wizard magazine), here are the top ten hottest current artists in comics in no particular order.

This year, at the Grauman’s Egyptian Theater in Hollywood, Entertainment Weekly and the American Cinematheque teamed up for the inaugural CapeTown Film Festival, and hopefully this festival is here to stay. The past week, I’ve gone to a few of the screenings, joining the hordes of fanboys and girls cheering for their favorite picture(s).
The lineup has been stellar, featuring classics both old and new. On Tuesday, EW staged an early screening of Iron Man 3 before the U.S. premiere date of May 3rd, with Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige in attendance. The next day was Edgar Wright Day, with Shaun Of The Dead and Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World being shown, with Edgar Wright joined by stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Brandon Routh, Satya Bhabha, and Scott Pilgrim creator Bryan Lee O’Malley. On Thursday, John Carpenter’s The Thing terrified the sold out crowd with a 35 mm print,...

If you’re a fan, friend, or Evil Ex of Ramona Flowers, it’s a good time to make a Pilgrimage to Hollywood.
Scott Pilgrim vs. the World will get a next-level celebration on May 1 when the Entertainment Weekly CapeTown Film Festival in Los Angeles reunites filmmaker Edgar Wright with two of the film’s stars — Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Jason Schwartzman — and Bryan Lee O’Malley, the Canadian cartoonist who has followed Pilgrim’s progress (or lack thereof) over six bestselling graphic novels.

Breaking into the comic book industry is like breaking into Fort Knox with a blindfold on. It takes grit, determination and above all else, talent. While the vast majority of mainstream comic book publication takes place in the good old U.S. of A., there is a sleepy little country lying just to the north that’s ripe with talent; Canada. In fact, there are several well established Canadian’s making waves in the comic book industry today. Here is part one of the Canuck’s making Canada a house-hold name in comics:

What does a New York Times best-selling series, an Eisner Award, two Harvey Awards, a movie and a game based on your work get you? A comfortable seat to lean in while the royalty cheques pour in, of course. But what does London, Ontario born writer/artist Bryan Lee O’Malley do? You...

On the 7th of May, one of the greatest days for fans of comic books, manga and graphic novels will arrive, for across the world it is Free Comic Book Day!
With so many comic book films set to be released this summer (including Thor, X-Men: First Class, Green Lantern, Captain America: The First Avenger and Cowboys and Aliens), I thought that this would be a good opportunity to list my top five comic books that would make great films and could offer something new for the genre.
Are there any comic books that you would like to see turned into a film? Feel free to let us know by commenting below!

There has seen a boom in big screen comic book adaptations recently and they’ve proved more popular than ever in 2010. With the likes of Kick Ass, Scott Pilgrim and Red this recent trend seems set to stay. To celebrate the Blu-ray and DVD release of Jonah Hex on December 27th, we decided to take a look at the Top 10 Comic to Film Adaptations.

‘Tis the season for picking favorites — for taking stock of the year that was and expressing ourselves with lists. Like every pop culture junkie, I have a list for everything — movies, TV, books, music, comics, videogames. But I’m also a big geek, with a fancy for what the industry and more sophisticated nerds call “genre entertainment” — superhero, sci-fi, horror, and fantasy stuff, worlds of wild and weird wonder marked by extraordinary creativity and mind-stretching ideas that can inspire intense engagement, deep discussion with friends, and in some instances, multiple 6,000 word essays each week exploring every nook and cranny, real and imagined,...

Edgar Wright’s Scott Pilgrim Vs The World is filled with allusions to movies, comics and videogames – here are just a few of its hidden treasures…
One of the most fun parts of Scott Pilgrim is finding out how deeply ingrained you are in the target audience by trying to catch every reference, allusion and shout-out in the film. Some are obvious, some less so – here, we’ve compiled a few from almost every medium referenced in the film. Are you geek enough to have spotted them all?
1. X-static
In the movies, like the comics, Scott wears a round ‘X’ insignia on his arm, but unlike the comics, he’s never pressed to explain its relevance. Even before they’ve read the first Scott Pilgrim book, hardened geeks will know that, obviously, Scott wears this logo because he went to Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters. The patch does still...

This is the one day where the comics and films align properly at Comic-Con, mainly because you get the Marvel and DC presentations of their upcoming features. That's right, this is the awesome Saturday schedule for Comic-Con, and it's about time.Need your fix of the "Green Lantern"? Well it depends on what kind of medium you want the DC creation in. Of course you can attend the massive Warner Bros Pictures panel that not only shows off "Green Lantern" but Zack Snyder's "Sucker Punch" and "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows". If you want it more along the comic sector, then you can go to panels like Green Lantern: Emerald Empire. That's not the only thing that DC is dishing out. Man, you look at this list for Saturday and you think that DC has complete dominance at least animated and comic-wise on the Con. They're doing...
