Everybody's making bad decisions in Fear The Walking Dead this week, putting themselves and others in mortal danger...
This review contains spoilers.
2.13 Date Of Death
In the real world, decisions can have weight, but they don't always become a matter of life or death. Picking the kind of car you want to buy is essentially meaningless; sure, there are some differences, but most cars are going to get you back and forth to work without lowering yourself to the indignities of public transportation. However, the kind of car you pick in the world of Fear The Walking Dead can mean the difference between living and dying. Will making bad choices for good reasons be a death sentence? Or will making bad choices for good reasons be a death sentence for someone's humanity?
Madison, as we've seen, is making terrible choices left and right, and the results come home to roost immediately.

Fear The Walking Dead revisits a plot familiar from its parent show in its latest episode, but handles it even better...
This review contains spoilers.
2.6 Sicut Cervus
One of the problems that Fear The Walking Dead is going to face is that it's several seasons behind the parent show. That gives the spinoff a little more breathing room to include some luxuries, like television and electricity/water, but it also means that it is going to have to work harder not to accidentally recycle plot lines form the original series. Or, in some cases, they can recycle the plot but do it better than in the original series.
The second season of The Walking Dead is the farm season. The gang spent a whole season just hanging out on Hershel's farm while looking for Sophia. Well, in case you've forgotten, Sophia was there on the farm with them,...

All things come to an end and the true death arrived for HBO’s True Blood earlier this year. This week, HBO Home Entertainment offers up The Complete Seventh Season along with a mammoth complete series box set. In looking back on the series, it probably hung around a little longer than necessary, especially as things spiraled from over-the-top to insane crazy after series creator Alan Ball left.
The seventy episodes veered further and further from Charlaine Harris’s The Southern Vampire Mysteries novels and even she wrapped up her prose stories recognizing the time had come.
Bon Temps is under attack as things open up, picking up where season six dropped us. The Hep V Vampires are running amuck as many of our favorite supporting characters have been threatened. Pam continues her hunt for Eric leaving Sookie as the calming voice of reason and she’s not feeling all that steady.

True Blood fans aren't the only ones wanting more of the recently departed series. The HBO drama's seven seasons concluded on Aug. 24 with a finale that disappointed some Truebies, but there are more stories the cast and showrunner Brian Buckner wish the show had explored, they tell The Hollywood Reporter. Joe Manganiello says he understood that Alcide had to die. Sookie (Anna Paquin) was not going to end up with her werewolf love interest, but having her break up with him would make viewers dislike her. "You've got to kill him," Manganiello tells THR. He says that when he got the news, he told

This story contains spoilers for True Blood 7.10, the series finale.

So, the final episode of vampire drama True Blood ended in a way many fans might not have expected – with Anna Paquin’s Sookie opting for neither man from the show’s central love-triangle.
Instead of Bill or Eric, Sookie ended up with an unnamed and unseen suitor, played by stuntman Tim Eulich. Despite this completely being her character’s choice, and arguably a nice subversion to expectations, certain sections of the internet were left disappointed by the decision.

The biggest mystery of the True Blood series finale has been answered. Warning, spoilers! Sookie Stackhouse married a stuntman! At the end of True Blood, viewers were treated to a flashforward of a married—and pregnant—happy Sookie (Anna Paquin) at a Thanksgiving dinner. Her mystery man was never revealed, but he was played by stuntman Timothy Eulich. After Bill's death, Sookie went on to fulfill his wish and live a normal life. Executive producer Brian Buckner explained that he felt it was "irrelevant" to know who Sookie ended up with. The following interview contains many spoilers about the True Blood series finale. Proceed with caution — or come back after you’ve gotten around to watching the episode. Who was that man sitting down for Thanksgiving dinner next to a pregnant Sookie Stackhouse in the series finale of True Blood? All we know is that he has a beard and seems to be making our favorite telepathic waitresses happy, so we’ve taken to calling him Mr. Faceless Beard Guy and Mr. Sookie Stackhouse. Showrunner Brian Buckner told reporters yesterday that the character was intended to be an everyman whose identity was irrelevant; he also said that, to cast the role, they chose “the man with the best arms from our stunt crew.” It turns out that those anonymous arms belong to actor/stunt performer Timothy Eulich, and Vulture tracked him down for a quick chat about getting the gig and...

"TV shows are hard" is how True Blood showrunner Brian Buckner begins his explanation of the difficulties inherent in writing a series finale, and from the sound of it, that's an understatement. Could there have been a more complicated and thankless task than concluding a show like True Blood, with its wildly disparate story lines, characters, and tones, not to mention its sliiightly passionate fanbase? And that's to say nothing of the undeserved backlash it's had to deal with these last few seasons. So if Buckner sounds a bit beleaguered the morning after his divisive series finale, "Thank You," closed the coffin on a seven-year legacy, it's for pretty good reason. "I've done a little bit of reading today."In addition to explaining that actor scheduling prevented certain characters from sharing screentime (think Eric and Pam's often-isolated scenes from the rest of the show) to the intentionally unimportant identity of...

(Spoiler alert: Don't read this if you haven't seen Sunday's series finale titled “Thank You.”) “True Blood's” series finale on HBO on Sunday presented a whirlwind of closure for the characters fans have fallen in love with over its seven seasons. Everyone reached a happy ending that included love and family, which was revealed when the remaining characters reunited for Thanksgiving years later. [Warning: Spoilers ahead from the series finale of True Blood, "Thank You."] The biggest question remaining from True Blood's series finale on Sunday might be who Sookie (Anna Paquin) ended up with romantically: She is pregnant in the flash-forward epilogue, and while viewers see her husband, his face is never revealed. It was a decision the show's writers made, showrunner Brian Buckner says, to keep Sookie at True Blood's center. True Blood, Season 7, Episode 10, “Thank You”
Written by Brian Buckner
Directed by Scott Winant
Aired Sundays at 9pm Est on HBO
On this week’s (final) episode, Bill makes a difficult request of Sookie, Jessica and Hoyt make a plan for their future, and Pam and Eric start a new business together.
After such a solid final season, True Blood‘s finale is almost a disappointment. Too many storylines feel forced or rushed, and the ending, though happy, rings a little false. Of course, the show didn’t exit without releasing a few more shocking surprises–including a pivotal moment that involves the death of a major character since series’s beginning.
Honestly, not many scenes stand out in the series finale (save a bloody Eric head-bobbing in his car). “Thank You” mainly serves as a chance to wrap up as much story as possible, and the effect is a...

We’ll be talking here about the events in tonight’s series finale of True Blood. If you haven’t already watched “Thank you,” come back later, because we don’t have the power to glamour your memory away ... yet.Who was that guy? After all these years of rooting for Sookie to end up with either Bill, Eric, Alcide, or even Sam, we got a guy wearing a brown shirt and a beard. We don't even get to see his face? Perhaps the point was that she got to have a so-called "normal," human relationship, the kind Bill said he wished she could have, along with sunshine and children and puppies. But who's to say — well, other than True Blood showrunner Brian Buckner, who also wrote "Thank You" — that this mystery man is not part fae, a shifter, a were, or some other supernatural? After all, Bill's idea of...

Airs Sundays at 9pm Est on HBO
On this week’s True Blood, Jessica runs to Hoyt for comfort, Brigette spends the night with Jason, Pam gives Sarah a makeover, and Eric negotiates the peace between Sookie and Bill.

We really wanted to bring Anna Camp back, and Sarah Newlin was still out there. We didn’t really want to create a whole new Big Bad for this season. Instead of having the story spiral out,...

The ten episode third season of History's "Vikings" has scored a Comic Con teaser trailer ahead of its return in early 2015. Ragnar appears to be taking on the might of King Charles of France in the new season, and series creator Michael Hirst has suggested Vikings may eventually hit America.
The first trailer has arrived for the second season of The CW's Vampire Diaries spinoff "The Originals". Daniel Sharman ("Teen Wolf") joins the series as Caleb who gets to have flirty interactions with Davina. Claire Holt also returns as Rebekah within the first three episodes which are set three months after the first season finale. The main theme of this season is said to be the "sins of the past coming to haunt us in the present".
Only a handful of episodes remain in HBO's sexy vampire drama "True Blood" and the cast members reunited for a last time at Comic-Con early Saturday evening.

We're half-way through the final season of HBO's "True Blood," so this is as good a time as any for a celebratory Comic-Con send-off. Saturday's (July 26) Ballroom 20 panel is being moderated by the same guy who has moderated nearly all of the previous "True Blood" panels, so... I guess we know what to expect! Anyway, it's one vampire to another, as I just wrapped my live-blog for "The Vampire Diaries." Woo. 5:04 p.m. We begin with a clip reel of "True Blood" stars saying "Good-bye." And now they're going to do it in person. 5:06 p.m. Our panel: Nathan Parsons, The Lovely Deborah Ann Woll, Nelsan Ellis, Carrie Preston, Chris "Comic-Con Virgin" Bauer, Anna Camp, Brian Buckner, Kristin Bauer Van Straten, Rutina Wesley, Sam Trammell, Stephen Moyer and Anna Paquin. The loudest reaction, by a wide margin, was for Kristin Bauer van Straten, if you're curious. 5:07 p.

As has become a tradition, this year's Sdcc presentation for "True Blood" included a look at "the weeks ahead" on the show - its Final five weeks to be exact - and you can check out the video here along with a few highlights from the panel.
Those in attendance included exec producer Brian Buckner and co-stars Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer, Sam Trammell, Nelsan Ellis, Rutina Wesley, Kristin Bauer van Straten, Deborah Ann Woll, Carrie Preston, Chris Bauer, Anna Camp, and Nathan Parsons.
"This season had to be about Bill and Sookie," said Buckner. "It’s not going to be exactly what you think it is, but this show started out and worked because of the chemistry they shared… I certainly felt that we had to come back to Bill and Sookie; how we’re coming back to them, we’re not telling you."

Saying goodbye sucks, especially to the vampires (and humans, fairies, werewolves, shape shifters, etc.) of True Blood. There were tears, naturally, and laughs, and talk of flattened toads, but the real reason you're reading this: the trailer. In the sneak peek below, get a look at what's ahead in the final episodes of True Blood. Grab the tissues and watch the trailer below. The hunt for Sarah...

Below are spoilers up to the most recent episode. True Blood hasn't been anyone's favorite show in a while. The once-addictive guilty pleasure is now a Hershey's Kiss from last year's Valentine's Day, a stale hunk of confection whose reappearance in your life inspires little desire to consume. And the show's writers -- led during the first five seasons by creator Alan Ball and these last two by Brian Buckner -- have no one to blame but themselves for the facts that viewership is half of what it used to be and critical reception has melted into a puddle of sticky sop as messy as a staked vampire. That's what happens after spending three seasons erecting bridges to no...

HBO is being stingy with its "True Blood" clips this season... none last week and only one for the upcoming Episode 7.05, "Lost Cause." But we'll take what we can get as we prepare for the show's final Sdcc panel on July 26th.
Episode 7.05 - “Lost Cause” (air date 7/20/14)
Exhausted from her recent travails, Sookie (Anna Paquin) finds herself the unwilling host of a festive mainstreaming party in Bon Temps. In search of an elusive adversary, Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) and Pam (Kristin Bauer von Straten) head to Dallas and attend a gala fundraiser.

Recently, TV Line chatted up True Blood Holly Cleary star, Lauren Bowles (left), and she revealed some, new, short teaser spoilers for the upcoming season 7 finale episode titled, "Thank You." It turns out that we'll see some absolute closure with some of the situations. However, their will be certain people whose lives seem like they could continue on, and more. When asked about it, Lauren explained to them: "That’s a good question, and you know what? It’s kind of both. Certain things are wrapped up — like, the final nail is put on the coffin — and for others, you see how certain people’s lives could continue. I keep joking with our showrunner Brian Buckner about doing a True Blood movie, and he just looks at me like he wants to kill me. And I just say, “Come on, all the HBO shows are doing it!" True Blood, Season 7, Episode 3, “Fire in the Hole”
Written by Brian Buckner
Directed by Lee Rose
Airs Sundays at 9pm Est on HBO
On this week’s True Blood, Sookie risks her life to save the missing townspeople, Sam confronts the Bon Temps mob, Pam tries to revive a disinterested Eric, Sarah Newlin returns, and another major character perishes.
From the very beginning of the show’s pilot, True Blood has done its best to explore the idea of belonging and fitting into a world that doesn’t want or accept you. Sure, the show originally used vampires as a metaphor for Lgbt rights, but, with the final season, the struggle to belong is much more rooted in the show’s supernatural and small-town environment.

It’s easy to forget, what with the constant flow of action-packed programming from HBO, just how special True Blood was when it premiered six years ago. (Let’s just call it Fang of Thrones.) Charlaine Harris’s wildly popular Southern Vampire Mysteries novel series became pulpy, sexy horror camp owing to the genius vision of Alan Ball — who, sadly, relinquished his showrunner status before last season. There have been detours and missteps along the way, but under the guidance of new showrunner Brian Buckner, True Blood received a new jolt of energy in season six, even if the finale itself left some viewers feeling drained. In preparation for the seventh and final season premiere this Sunday night, Vulture looks back at what was happening in Bon Temps when we last saw our motley crew of supernaturals, and the fearful humans who love or loathe them.
