- Eugen Burg was born on January 6, 1871 in Berlin, Germany. He was an actor and director, known for Der wird geheiratet (1921), The Hound of the Baskervilles (1915) and Alles aus Gefälligkeit (1916). He was married to Emmy Raabe-Burg. He died on November 15, 1944 in Theresienstadt Concentration Camp, Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia [now Terezín, Czech Republic].

- His daughter Hansi Burg was the longtime companion of his most famous acting student Hans Albers.
- After the Nazis disqualified him professionally, he -like his daughter Hansi- tried to flow Germany, but was deported to Nazi concentration camp Theresienstadt, where he died at the age of 73. Meanwhile, Hansi managed to escape to England and later returned to Germany.
- One of the earliest impersonators of Sherlock Holmes on screen, he played the famous detective in _ Das dunkle Schloß (1915)_qv).
