So there’s this horror movie competition that takes place on Facebook every October, and this is my first year participating. I’m still a little lost, so bear with me. I have watched more than this, but these are the movies I watched during the week of Oct 4th – October 11th, the first official week of The Madness. I hope I can squeeze some more in this week, but having a 4 year old makes that tough to do. I think I had a pretty good week considering all obstacles. Plus, I saw some great stuff this week. Some revisits that I try to do annually, as well as some new movies, not released to theaters yet.
Late Phases (2014) – 2 pts
Director: Adrián García Bogliano
Easily misunderstood, but still solid. We don’t get much in the way of werewolf horror, so it’s good to support it when we do.

If you’ve paid attention to any of the goings on here at The Liberal Dead, you’ve probably heard at least one of us mention a little film called “Some Guy Who Kills People.” Around the time that review copies of “Tucker And Dale Vs. A good friend of Tld(Christian Burgess) asked me if I was able to see “Some Guy Who Kills People” yet, to which I of course responded, “no, but please tell me more.” How could I not pursue a movie with such a title? Once I learned that Kevin Corrigan was in the lead role, I was sold. Corrigan I feel, is one of the most underrated actors working today. I was a huge fan of...

Some Guy Who Kills People, is a film that’s taking everyone lucky enough to see it by surprise. Suggested to me in a conversation with Christian Burgess, after expressing my adoration for Tucker And Dale, “Some Guy” had something that other films of the kind generally lack. It had heart, and the talent to back it up. One of the major contributing factor of this, in a perfect marriage with the performances of a wonderful cast of talented actors, was the amazing script. Recently, Ryan Levin, the man responsible for the script, sat down with Jeff and myself for a conversation about the process of bringing “Some Guy” to life, and the extremely positive reception that the film has been met with. Listen to said interview below, and be on the lookout for news in regards to the DVD/Blu Ray/VOD release of the film. If you’re an iTunes user,...
