Alphas Sneak Peeks: Gaslight
The death of Anna last season on Alphas understandably caused Gary a lot of grief, confusion, and anger. A creature of habit, he had gotten used to having a friend in his life that seemed to understand his mindset and condition, so to have that taken away, even despite her not-so-nice motivations, was a shock to the system. To the point that at her funeral, which takes place in the next episode of Alphas, he feels the urge to speak up on her behalf regarding the platitudes the preacher extolled regarding her omnipresence. Gary's mind doesn't grasp the idea that people can live on through the ideas and impact on others, but he's not wrong in feeling a little uneasy about the way her cause of death has been swept under the rug a little.

This is great news. If you watched Syfy‘s Alphas during its inaugural season last summer, you likely enjoyed the treat that was Summer Glau in a terrific part, as an Alpha whose ability was to construct incredibly complex pieces of technology. It was a geeky part, and she played it with absolute style and grace.
Happily, Syfy has announced that she’ll be reprising that part for three episodes in the second season of the show, which premieres on Monday, July 23 at 10/9c. (Don’t worry, Lost Girl fans, your show is not going away, it’s just moving down the block to Fridays.)
Joining the lovely and talented Ms. Glau are a hobbit, a former NCIS director, and a lieutenant with the colonial forces, amongst others. Check out this great lineup:

The second season of “Alphas”, the Syfy Channel’s “X-Men”/”Heroes” show, doesn’t return until Monday, July 23rd (yes, just a few weeks away), but the network has announced a full slate of big-name guest stars that will appearing on the superhero show in its upcoming season. There are lots of familiar Syfy names, and some new, big names as well. And yes, also a new trailer. Guest stars and returning players will include: Sean Astin plays Roland, an Alpha who has a bizarrely absorptive brain, which allows him to assume the memories of anyone close to him and then replay them like a tape recorder. C. Thomas Howell portrays Eli Aquino, an intense Alpha with super-speed who is bent on revenge. Lauren Holly guests as Senator Charlotte Burton, a government official with mysterious ties to a member of the Alphas team. Summer Glau reprises her season one role as Skylar Adams,...
