Based on true events – no seriously, there was a “Great Emu War” back in 1932 – the upcoming horror movie The Emu War looks to recapture the same bad-good energy of the Birdemic films. If that sounds up your alley, we’re happy to serve up the trailer this morning.
An emu mob fights back against Australian soldiers in this “unapologetically silly, ultra-low budget war epic,” and you can watch the official trailer for The Emu War down below.
In the upcoming movie, “Based on the infamous Great Emu War of 1932, a rag tag platoon of soldiers are driven into a brutal and bloody battle against Australia’s deadliest flightless beasts. Haunted by the kidnapping of his son at the hands of the Emus, Major Meredith leads the platoon behind enemy lines in order to kill the emus Leader the Queen Emu.”

When it comes to Lay’s potato chips, it’s long been hard to eat just one. On Friday on ABC, it may also be hard to watch just a single commercial for the popular snack.
Disney has sold one third of all of Friday’s national advertising inventory on ABC to PepsiCo’s Frito-Lay so that the snacking giant can run — and run again — eight different commercials for Lay’s potato chips that show actor Stephen Tobolowsky going through a scenario similar to that from the 1993 comedy “Groundhog Day” in which he is stuck repeating his actions in a time loop — with a different flavor of Lay’s in each run-through (and a growing sense of desperation).
The plan marks the first time that Disney has teamed up with a single client for a day-ong sponsorship. The Frito-Lay ads will also surface on Hulu.

James Cameron described post-production on “Avatar 3” as “hectic” during a recent New Zealand press conference moderated by 1News chief correspondent John Campbell. Cameron used the discussion to celebrate New Zealand as his main production hub, announcing his plan to make movies there “indefinitely” and revealing that he will finally become a New Zealand citizen in 2024. Cameron has been working in New Zealand since 2005, when the first “Avatar” movie started development.
“We’re into a very hectic two years of post-production right now,” Cameron confirmed when asked about the third “Avatar” movie. “So it will be Christmas of 2025.”
Disney announced in June that Cameron’s three upcoming “Avatar” sequels were being pushed back on the release calendar yet again, extending the franchise into 2031. The studio, which acquired the franchise after its merger with Fox, had originally planned to release Cameron’s additional “Avatar” sequels two years apart from one another,...

Some of the food and drink served in the next season of the frenzied FX family restaurant comedy “The Bear” may just be a lot easier to recognize.
After getting queries from more than 40 different advertisers after the program’s first season on Hulu, Disney has come up with ways to mix Madison Avenue more closely into the recipe of the program. Viewers are likely to see Stella Artois, Coca-Cola and American Express’ Resy online-reservations service develop a closer relationship to the series, with products showing up in scenes and customized promotional content placed alongside the program.
The goal, says John Campbell, Disney Advertising’s senior vice president of entertainment and addressable solutions, is to “allow brands and clients to get closer to the intellectual property, closer to the talent.”
