- Niels Carstens is a Danish cinematographer with a long career in film and television. He started as an amateur film photographer, but had a breakthrough in the mid-1950s with documentaries, including "Mellem floder og urskove" about Africa. In 1956 he was hired by national Danish television as a correspondent in Northern Jutland as well as by production company Laterna Film where he worked on several shorts and features, including footage for Astrid Henning-Jensen's famed Boy of Two Worlds (1959). He then worked for Per Holst Film and Ib Dam Film before taking a position in Danmarks Radio's television department in 1965, working as a cinematographer and technical developer during the years of the transition from black and white to color television.- IMDb Mini Biography By: Peter Brandt Nielsen
