We’re only about two months away from the debut of the brand new Creepshow anthology series on Shudder, and this writer could not be more excited. A brand new trailer debuted during Comic-Con this weekend, and while in San Diego, Daily Dead had the opportunity to speak with showrunner and executive producer Greg Nicotero about what we can expect when it debuts on September 26th.
During the roundtable interview, Nicotero discussed how the Creepshow series will continue to celebrate practical effects and the comic book spirit from the original films, and that he’s worked in tons of Easter eggs into each episode that horror fans are going to want to keep their eyes peeled for. It’s a damn good week to be a Stephen King fan, that is for sure, because we have two must-own Blu-ray releases coming out on Tuesday, perfect for some inspired Halloween-time viewings. First up, Scream Factory has put together a Collector’s Edition of Creepshow that is just utterly phenomenal, and there’s also the long overdue Blu for Maximum Overdrive that’s coming out as part of the Vestron Video Collector’s Series.
As if that wasn’t already enough, Brian De Palma’s Sisters joins the ranks of The Criterion Collection this week, Night of the Demons is getting the Steelbook treatment, there’s an unrated version of Fede Alvarez’s Evil Dead that arrives on Blu, plus there’s a special edition of Deadbeat by Dawn to look forward to as well.

Horror fans in Syracuse will travel to "a place where the dead speak" this April at the 13th annual Salt City Horror Fest. Pet Sematary co-star Denise Crosby will be on hand at The Palace Theatre for a special screening of Mary Lambert's 1989 Stephen King adaptation, with C.H.U.D. II: Bud the Chud, Creepshow 2, and Terrorvision among the other 35mm screenings featured at the event.

If you've seen little productions like Day of the Dead, In the Mouth of Madness, From Dusk 'Til Dawn, Scream, The Cell, Masters of Horror, The Mist and most recently The Walking Dead than you are very familiar with his enormous body of work.
