Serge Ioan Celebidachi was born on June 19, 1968 in Paris, France to Ioana Celebidachi, a successful abstract painter and Sergiu Celibidache, a renowned classical musician. Celebidachi is a French-Romanian writer and director raised in Paris, France. He left for the USA to pursue a B.A in Theatre & Drama at Indiana University (Bloomington) before returning to London for a Master in Film at the London International Film School.

Octav (2017), which received international festival distinctions and topped the Romanian box office for domestic films in 2017.
