Spends some of her free time hosting dinner parties for deploying (and returning) Marines and their families at her and her husband's restaurant in Palm Springs.
Her father was US Air Force Brigadier General Leland C. Shepard Jr., a
pilot who eventually became deputy chief of staff for personnel for the
Military Airlift Command.
Also teaches yoga.
Took a 14-year sabbatical from Hollywood, sold her L.A. home and moved
to Palm Springs before returning to get the coveted role of scheming
"Gloria Fisher Abbott" in The Young and the Restless (1973), replacing actress Joan Van Ark.
Hard drinking Vivien Leigh impersonator in San Diego production of "Orson's
Shadow".
Taught acting at the College of the Desert in Palm Springs and directed
and acted there in local theater.
