Michael is an actor, writer and producer. He grew up in the fervent city of Detroit Michigan, where his family was very active in community service, politics and entertainment. As a kid he grew up watching rehearsals and performances from the wings of the Detroit Music Hall. He attended University of Detroit Jesuit High School and Academy, further studied for his BFA at University of Detroit Mercy, LIR at Trinity College
Dublin, the Barrow Group, and with the great Susan Batson in NYC.
Michael wrote and performs in his one man show, An Adam Experiment, about the prolific, dynamic, charismatic Congressman and Pastor from Harlem, Adam Clayton Powell Jr, who fought hard against inequality and segregation for over 40 years.
His family has a mixed African-American ancestry comprised of free blacks from as far back as 1716.
Under the nickname "Detroit", Michael has worked across the country for many production companies as a Production Assistant, Production Coordinator, and Assistant Director.
While working as a Production Assistant, on Ugly Betty one of the directors loved Michael's off camera read with Vanessa Williams so much that he encouraged Michael to audition more.
