Mandalay Pictures president Cathy Schulman and Tropic Thunder set designer John Chichester have joined the faculty at Chapman University’s Dodge College Of Film And Media Arts.
Every term Dodge College hosts an expert filmmaker to meet with and counsel 10 students under the Filmmaker-in-Residence programme. Schulman has been named Fall 2013 Filmmaker-in-Residence.
She recently completed production on Alex Aja’s Toronto entry Horns and Marjane Satrapi’s Voices and is currently producing the Gillian Flynn adaptation Dark Places starring Charlize Theron. Schulman won a best picture Oscar as one of the producers on Crash.
Chichester will be an associate professor and director of production design. He has designed and supervised films such as Star Trek Into Darkness, Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides and Spider-Man 2, among others.
