Taylor Swift came prepped to bring it at the 2014 American Music Awards.
The Sunday awards ceremony delivered on five-out-of-five key Taylor Swift-isms: a pseudo-midriff-baring dress, a killer performance, wild dancing in her seat, bonding with gal pals, and an eloquent acceptance speech.

Swift was presented with the Dick Clark Award for Excellence by Diana Ross (sadly without any inappropriate touching), and in less than two minutes at the podium she managed to tackle feminism, innovation and a streaming debate/I love my fans double whammy. Read the whole speech below:
I'm so blown away to have just received an award from Diana Ross who, just over the course of her career stood up for herself so many times in a time when it was not popular for a woman to stand up for herself. I'm so honored. Thank you for coming, you're beautiful.

One Direction may have won the night's biggest award, but Taylor Swift stole the show.
Looking back on Sunday night's 2014 American Music Awards, one thing stands out from the cacophony of stellar performances and heartfelt acceptance speeches: it was ladies night for sure. Between Swift, Iggy Azalea, Jennifer Lopez and Charli Xcx, every number that swept the audience off their feet was delivered by a female artist.
The star-studded, performance-filled celebration – which often seemed more like a huge concert than an awards show – opened with a spectacular live rendition of Swift’s latest hit "Blank Space," which set the fun, fast-paced tone for the rest of the (three-hour) evening.
Later in the night, Taylor was honored with the Dick Clark Award For Excellence – presented by music legend Diana Ross – and she gave a heartfelt speech that showed how much she really cared for and appreciated the fans who made her most recent album 1989 a record-shattering success. "I love...

Although Katy Perry spent the American Music Awards on the other side of the Pacific, the Prism singer was still the night's biggest winner, taking home three trophies to lead the pop field. One Direction also scored three AMAs, while Iggy Azalea and Beyoncé each won in two categories. Taylor Swift was the recipient of the first Dick Clark Award for Excellence, which was presented to her by Diana Ross.

‘Cause the Taylor’s gonna play, play, play, play, play! On Sunday, Nov. 23, Taylor Swift had the time of her life at the 2014 American Music Awards. Kicking off the show with her wide-eyed, fire-tossing performance of her new no. 1 single “Blank Space,” Swifty had only just begun. Surrounded by her gal pals Lorde, Selena Gomez, and Karlie Kloss, the Dick Clark Award of Excellence winner, 24, grooved in the audience — per usual — throughout the entire show. When her New Zealander pal, 18, took [...]...

Well, it was another triumph night for Taylor Swift. Not only did the "1989" superstar open the 2014 American Music Awards with a showstopping performance of her new single "Blank Space," she took home the inaugural Dick Clark Award of Excellence. What is the Dick Clark Award of Excellence? Beats me, but it'll sure look great in one of Taylor Swift's six houses. In any event, tonight's ceremony was truly a star-studded affair, with One Direction, Iggy Azalea, Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande, 5 Seconds of Summer and even Diana Ross turning out for a night of dazzling performances. So who brought the goods and who fizzled on the Ama stage? Check out our rundown of the best and worst moments from the ceremony below. ...

Sunday's American Music Awards were pretty much just like your standard concert experience. Taylor Swift danced in the audience, Pitbull hosted and every artist you discreetly (read: not at all discreetly) sing along to in your car performed. You know, standard concert stuff. If we ran the AMAs, we'd hand out an award for Hardest Red Carpet Worker to FergieAlthough, fear not Kris Jenner: We know Kendall is also a very hard workerBut perhaps no one got their hands dirtier than Dick Clark Award for Excellence recipient Taylor Swift, who opened the showThe notable candy lover and kitten enthusiast...

Taylor Swift's night at the American Music Awards tomorrow is going be, well, major! Not only is she opening the show with her debut television performance of "Blank Space," but she will also receive the first ever Dick Clark Award for Excellence. And now I can exclusively reveal that she will be presented with the award by none other than music legend Diana Ross! We can't wait to see these superstars on the stage together. The Dick Clark Award was created to honor "someone whose spirit and excellence capture the visionary passion that Dick Clark himself incorporated into everything he did." Swift will also be celebrated as the only artist in history to have three...

I love visiting New York City, and New York Comic Con is one of my favorite shows. I always have a great time, and this year was no exception. One other thing that remains consistent every year I go is that it all goes by in a total whirlwind blur, and I can barely remember all the things I saw and did, or when they occurred.
But for you, my faithful readers who may not have been able to attend, I’ll try to remember some of the best parts of the weekend, and, as Inigo Montoya would say, “sum up.” So here we go! In no particular order, some of the coolest experiences I had in NYC:
I saw First Date, the Broadway musical starring Zachary Levi, and it was fantastic. I also interviewed Zac at The Nerd Machine booth during the con – so stay tuned for my review...

Here’s a treat for you, “American Idol” fans.
When news broke of Dick Clark’s death yesterday, the Internet was abuzz with tributes — many including YouTube videos featuring some of Clark’s finest, funniest, or most memorable moments.
This one, however, might be one that Randy Jackson would like to forget. First of all, he’s playing bass for… Michael Bolton??? (And not the cool Michael Bolton from “Office Space.”) Second of all, look at that hair! It’s as if he had it styled to look like a Green Bay Packers “cheesehead” hat, which isn’t a good look on anybody.
And, sadly, it also explains why Randy said he actually liked Sanjaya’s “fauxhawk” during Season 6 of “Idol.”
Check out Randy Jackson’s current hair style — or lack thereof — tonight on the “American Idol” elimination show at 8/7c on Fox.

Get out your noisemakers and silly hats, New Year's Eve is just around the corner. You either love it or hate, it, but let’s get real, you know when it comes down to it, no matter how much you resist, you're going to end up doing something on the last night of 2011.
Now, you could hit up that house party in town and hope the girl you've been eying runs up to you for a smooch when the big hand is on the little hand at midnight, or you can be smart and knock her socks off by taking her to one of the hottest parties in the country. What do you have to lose? After all, if the Mayans are right, it'll be your last Nye on earth anyway. So saddle up, take a stand against "Dick Clark's Rockin' New Years Eve" and...

Tradition holds that the only thing we're supposed to watch on New Year's Eve is an assortment of minor celebrities doing their best to entertain us before the ball drops in Times Square -- but as any self-respecting film buff knows, there are any number of movies whose plots revolve in some way around the changing of the calendar year, and quite a few of them are a lot more entertaining than any "New Year's Rockin' Eve." (Sorry, Dick Clark.) For this week's Total Recall, we decided to take a cross-section sampling of New Year's flicks from various genres, touching...

Black Eyed Peas' member Stacy Ferguson a.k.a Fergie will be collaborating with Slash for his solo debut album. Breaking the news to the media is his wife Perla Hudson during an interview with The Rockerrazzi.
Beside Fergie, another artist mentioned to be the former Guns N' Roses' guitarist's collaborator is Ozzy Osbourne. "It's going to be Slash and friends, with everyone from Ozzy (Osbourne) to Fergie," Perla said in a statement.
When asked about Slash's feeling over Guns N' Roses' latest LP "Chinese Democracy", Perla stated that he "feels great about it." She explained, "He feels great about it ('Chinese Democracy'). It's long-awaited. Our kids like it but they also like Elmo, so that goes without saying."
In related news, Fergie will take a hosting job with Ryan Seacrest at Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve. Aired on ABC on December 31, the event will feature performances from Ne-Yo,...
