The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts today announced casting for its production of First You Dream The Music of Kander amp Ebb in the Eisenhower Theater June 8 to July 1, 2012. The musical revue will star Heidi Blickenstaff, James Clow, Alan H. Green, Leslie Kritzer, Patina Miller, and Matthew Scott. Originally produced at Signature Theatre in Virginia and co-conceived by David Loud and Eric Schaeffer, the production features music by John Kander, lyrics by Fred Ebb, and will be directed by Eric Schaeffer. Jon Kalbfleisch will conduct the 22-piece Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra. Press opening night is Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at 730 p.m.

Every August for the last four years, Lorna Luft has called her agents to remind them that it's time to start booking her into a year-end production of the stage version of Irving Berlin's "White Christmas." Since 2004 this theatrical adaptation of the beloved 1954 movie has been a seasonal staple in regional theaters—and even made stops on Broadway in 2008 and 2009. Luft, who played in the show's United Kingdom premiere and other productions, wouldn't miss appearing in it somewhere at the holiday season. After all, the unique performance period always spans her birthday (Nov. 21), Thanksgiving, and Christmas Eve.
