ABC is set in their decision to move ahead with a season of The Golden Bachelorette after the success of Gerry Turner’s The Golden Bachelor season. The network announced they would be moving forward with the series in February, but they have yet to announce who will star as the first-ever golden bachelorette. Several names have been thrown into the ring, including a couple of celebrities and a handful of contestants from Turner’s season.
Fans of the series have tossed around Kathie Lee Gifford’s name while discussing potential golden bachelorettes. Gifford insists she hasn’t been approached about the series but has discussed it with her family. This story about Jeff Bridges and “The Old Man” first ran in the Drama Series issue of TheWrap’s awards magazine.
Over seven decades, Jeff Bridges has demonstrated an uncanny ability to disappear into characters while still seeming like himself — whether it’s a fawn-eyed extraterrestrial (“Starman”), a chill Zen master (“The Big Lebowski”) or an alcoholic country singer (“Crazy Heart),” a performance for which he won an Oscar. Now Bridges mesmerizes as Dan Chase, a rogue CIA operative pulled back into the game to protect his daughter in FX’s slow-burn espionage thriller “The Old Man,” which has weathered a rough road to completion.
Production shut down during the pandemic and again when Bridges was diagnosed with lymphoma in the fall of 2020. He underwent chemotherapy, then spent several months in the hospital after contracting Covid-19. He is now in remission and healthy, and “The Old Man” has become FX...

“Dave”- Dave Burd as Dave. Cr: Byron Cohen/FX On his show Dave, Dave Burd walks a fine line between fact and fiction when it comes to his Lil Dicky character. Of course, he’s not just a character — he’s Burd’s rapping alter ego, who’s had some success with his 2015 album and some hit singles. But while the temptation is there to simply retell the Lil Dicky story for the screen, Burd says that, for the show’s sake, the fictionalized version is actually much more interesting. Nathan Fillion has appeared in two beloved ABC shows — Castle and The Rookie. Castle aired for eight seasons on the network and ended in 2016. The Rookie premiered in 2018 and is in the middle of airing its fifth season. And Fillion is dedicated to paying homage to his previous show in his new one. Unfortunately, fans shouldn’t anticipate one Castle star to appear in The Rookie.

One of the main reasons Castle was so popular during its heyday was because of the “will they/won’t they” slow-burn relationship between Richard Castle and Kate Beckett, played by Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic.
Of course, everyone also loved the other side characters, especially Jon Huertas’ Javier Esposito and Seamus Dever’s Kevin Ryan.

Dave “Lil Dicky” Burd returns to television with season 3 of his Fxx/Hulu series Dave. This season, Lil Dicky is on tour a quest for love and gets into plenty of genital-joke-filled shenanigans along the way. Featuring an incredibly talented cast and team of creatives behind the scenes who give the storytelling dimension, Dave Season 3 gets a 4.5 star review. Here’s what made the third season of the rapper’s Fxx series excellent.
‘Dave’ Season 3 is excellent | Showbiz Cheat Sheet ‘Dave’ cast reverts back to the basics in season 3
Season 1 of Dave was about Burd’s initial viral success and his quest to achieve long-lasting fame. In season 2, that fame quickly went to the rapper’s head. As a result, fame compromised some of the most important relationships in his life, especially his girlfriend Ally (Taylor Misiak).
Dave Season 3 strikes a balance between the versions of Lil Dicky we saw in the first two seasons.

The American adaptation of The Office outlasted its U.K. counterpart by seven seasons. Now all 9 seasons of The Office are available on Peacock, but when it began in 2005, many of its stars thought they’d be out of work shortly after. The Office star Jenna Fischer credits one movie with saving the show.

The Office paved the way for many shows to employ the documentary style to comedy. Parks and Recreation used it in the local political milieu. Modern Family used it to bring new dynamics to the sitcom. Abbott Elementary still uses it in the teacher comedy. The Office cinematographer Randall Einhorn was instrumental in developing that style, which could be easy to take for granted on the show.

The Office was a landmark in must-see TV, but revolutionary? That’s what Rainn Wilson called The Office when the show began. The odds that “Jimmy Kimmel Live” would still be here, 20 years after its launch on Jan. 26, 2003, were astronomically low. The network hadn’t done a traditional late-night talk show since the short-lived “Into the Night With Rick Dees” in 1991, and the time slot’s previous inhabitant, “Politically Incorrect,” had been canceled due to declining ratings — and controversy over 9/11-related comments host Bill Maher had made.
Those early reviews were rough and the show struggled in its early months to book guests. And soon, Kimmel’s biggest backer at the network, then-abc chairman Lloyd Braun, was out the door.
But there was a glimmer of promise from the start: Early on, ABC execs said they were encouraged by the show’s first week national ratings, especially among young male viewers..

Miley Cyrus has someone better than a fairy godmother to dress her — she’s got Dolly Parton!
The 24-year-old singer is Cosmopolitan‘s September cover girl, and she opened up to the magazine about Parton’s influence as her godmother. On top of having a go-to genius for voice lessons and song lyrics (if you’ve never heard Cyrus’ cover of Jolene, it’s time to listen), there’s another major perk to her relationship with the 71-year-old country star.
“Having access to her closet!” Cyrus joked.

She added, “Seriously, watching the way she treats people with love and respect.

There might be a tendency to think that, after attracting critical praise and a rapidly growing fanbase, that You're The Worst, Fxx's "anti-romcom romcom," might calm down a bit going into its third year. Sure, Stephen Falk's half-hour comedy made its name by having two self-admittedly horrible people — journalist and would-be novelist Jimmy (Chris Geere) and music publicist Gretchen (Aya Cash) — hook up after a wedding, then indulge in as much booze-soaked bad behavior as possible. But having already pushed the boundaries of its self-hating protagonists for two seasons,...

[caption id="attachment_48569" align="aligncenter" width="590"] Castle TV show on ABC starring Stana Katic and Nathan Fillion. (ABC/Byron Cohen.)/caption]
Will ABC cancel or renew Castle for a ninth season? Per Deadline, the network must decide on the fate of the crime drama series, today. According to TV Line, Castle star Nathan Fillion has already signed on. As previously reported, executive producer Alexi Hawley has prepared two endings for the Castle's season eight finale. The decision of which ending to use is behind the deadline.
Hawley will use an ending with a big cliffhanger, if ABC renews Castle for a ninth season. The alternate ending is a TV series finale, which will hopefully provide Castle fans with some measure of closure, if the long-running series is cancelled. Either way, the eighth season finale will be star Stana Katic's last outing as Kate Beckett.

It’s interesting to watch cable networks figure out who they are, especially when they aren’t networks that build their space with their name. Things like Syfy and ABC Family tell you where you are (though it doesn’t work as well for History or TLC – seriously, “Learning”), but a lot of other networks have to squirm around a bit to figure out what their skin really feels like. I’m sure that they have theories going in, but mostly they throw out a few shows, figure out which ones actually become popular, and then try to figure out more shows that “seem like they’d be on the same channel.” There’s a certain “radio station” mentality going on behind-the-scenes, because the people who run networks want people to be a fan of the network itself, not just a show or two.

Chuck began with a very special opening title, one fans will definitely appreciate especially since this was not the series finale and fans would love nothing more for familiarity come then. Perhaps the original opening awaits us in the finale episode? No matter, this week was the calm before the storm and an almost movie like opening set the tone perfectly for this week and the final episode. Embrace the movie like opening, people because this is it.
In “Chuck vs. the Bullet Train,” Sarah (Yvonne Strahovski) and John Casey (Adam Baldwin) are on a mission to rescue Chuck (Zachary Levi), to Chuck’s surprise, with the intersect in Sarah’s head. Chuck was understandably worried about this result but watching the two later bond over how awesome the intersect benefits are was quite a moment. There are not many people on the earth who have had the intersect in their head,...

Most Beatles fans know that when Sir Paul penned "Yesterday" he sang the dummy lyrics "Scrambled eggs. Oh my baby, how I love your legs." As you probably already know, Amber Tamblyn is joining House, and she was recently available for a Q & A interview. Her role is an interesting in the grand scheme of the show, and probably comes at a good time, as the show seems to me to need a bit of a new push.
It’s a great interview, and I for one am looking forward to the new dynamic. Amber had a chance to talk about several aspects of joining the show, as well as a lot of other things she has going.
Amber Tamblyn joins House for a multi-episode arc as Martha Masters, a brilliant but inexperienced third-year medical student whom Cuddy forces House to hire as a female team member in Thirteen’s absence. In the midst of a tight senatorial re-election race, the New Jersey incumbent’s campaign manager mysteriously falls ill with liver failure and temporary paralysis.

We won't see another new episode of The Office until March, so "Manager and Salesman" will have to be enough Scranton for the next few weeks. I'm just not convinced it was quite up to the task. Yeah, it was good in parts, with a few sublime moments thanks to Meredith, but Kathy Bates is too famous for a guest role on a show all about pathetic realism. Too many of the moving parts -- Jim and Michael, Erin and Andy, Dwight and Ryan, Jo and everyone -- just never quite synced up with each other. Bates' Jo Bennett came to Dmhq with two massive,...
