Grey's Anatomy star T.R. Knight will keep his mouth shut on Friday when he takes part in the 12th National Day of Silence ceremony in Los Angeles.
The openly gay actor, who claimed he was forced to 'come out' in 2006 after a fight on the set of the hit medical drama, will join gay rights activists for the long silence at the Miguel Contreras Learning Complex.
Sponsored by the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (Glsen), the initiative is held to help combat bullying and harassment of teenage gays in schools and colleges.
Friday's Day of Silence has been dedicated to 15-year-old California student Lawrence King, who was shot to death in February by a fellow student.

MADRID -- Spain's startup television broadcaster, La Sexta, announced its top management team Tuesday, cherry-picking names from the fledgling channel's main shareholders, just weeks before its planned launch. Jose Miguel Contreras, a veteran of the Spanish TV industry and one of the founding partners of La Sexta's parent company Grupo Arbol, will serve as chief executive of the new company. La Sexta, due to launch by the end of March or early April, is owned by Spain's newly merged TV production titans Grupo Arbol and Mediapro, Mexican TV giant Televisa, and production houses Drive Entertainment, El Terrat and Bainet.
Hollywood's casting directors will be joined by prominent actors and International Brotherhood of Teamsters leaders at a press conference today to publicize the casters' desire to form a union. The briefing at the Writers Guild Theatre in Beverly Hills is intended to put pressure on the Alliance of Motion Picture & Television Producers, which so far has refused to recognize the 500 casting directors as a collective bargaining unit. If the issue is not resolved, it could lead to a work stoppage that, with the support of Teamsters truckers, could affect production nationwide. Confirmed attendees include Marcia Gay Harden, Lily Tomlin and Halle Berry as well as Teamsters vp Jim Santangelo, Teamsters Local 399 secretary-treasurer Leo Reed, AFTRA president John Connolly, SAG secretary-treasurer James Cromwell and Miguel Contreras, executive secretary/treasurer of the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor.
