I didn't go into Shark Night 3D expecting another Jaws. I was hoping for something closer to Deep Blue Sea, but what ended up on screen was more akin to Jaws: The Revenge. This was evident during the opening credits, as a montage of real shark footage included a brief shot of an animatronic shark from Deep Blue Sea. And the shot was reused during the end credits. Not a good sign.
Of course, we have an opening attack before getting to our main characters, and it's a charmer. A girl is frolicking in the lake with her sleazy boyfriend, who removes her top against her expressed wishes, tosses it further off shore, then goes off to get a sandwich. Instead of following and kicking his ass, she swims out, retrieves her...
