His U.S. Army-serving father was commissioned by the French to pose for
an oil painting of "the typical Doughboy" who served in France during
the war. The painting hangs today in the Louvre museum.
Retired to Palm Desert, California, he was very involved with the Save
a Pet and Animal Control project of Palm Desert.
