Although Jeopardy! has an amazing lineup for the Jeopardy! Invitational Tournament, it is shocking a few heavy hitters were excluded. Some of the big names in the game’s history like, Brad Rutter and Julia Collins weren’t on the participant list.
Inside Jeopardy! Podcast Talks About The Current Lineup For Jit
On the Inside Jeopardy! podcast, Michael Davies and Sarah Whitcomb-Foss talked about Jit in the latest episode. “Everyone listening, you now get to have the same pre-jit excitement we had in Jeopardy! production time before we made the Jit,” Micheal says. =Answer: This bearded bartender from New York just won $65,600 in a single day on “Jeopardy!” Question: Who is Austin Rogers, a guy the Internet is absolutely loving? Rogers win on Monday doesn’t beat the all-time single day record on “Jeopardy” held by Roger Craig, a 33-year-old University of Delaware graduate student who back in September of 2010 won $77,000 in a single day. But it’s still an impressive way to continue a now 5-day winning streak that, so far, has earned him $188,700. Rogers’ win, like in previous episodes, was punctuated by his flamboyant persona and almost arrogant confidence (a sampling.

While I would much rather be reading new information regarding Joss Whedon’s Avengers sequel, I suppose I’m content learning new things about Disney Xd’s new animated series, Marvel’s Avengers Assemble. You can tell the series is taking a lot of cues from The Avengers film, what with the cast including Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Hulk, Hawkeye and Black Widow, the same super heroes we watched fight aliens in New York last summer. But Avengers Assemble has a whole lot more freedom to add more heroes from the Marvel universe and will do so early in the show’s run. Our first new member will be Falcon and, from the look of things, his first day isn’t an easy one.
According to THR, Bumper Robinson voices Falcon, beginning with the July 7 episode “Ghost of a Chance.” The video below gives you a brief preview of...

"I'll have a double Daily Double, Alex." That may not be what Roger Craig ordered on Monday night's episode of the "Jeopardy! Tournament of Champions" game show, but that's exactly what the computer science grad student from Delaware got served. It starts out innocently enough: Craig selects "Novels, $1200" and gets rewarded with a spiraling Daily Double. He bets it all -- $9000 -- and wins with the correct response of "Who is Anne Brönte." But this is when things get really crazy. Craig then selects the Daily Double again, in a wildly different category -- "Languages, $1600" -- and repeats it all over again to the other contestants' amazement. Craig had previously made history by setting a new single-day record of $77,000 and by fashioning a computer program that helped him power through practice questions in a process he calls "Knowledge Tracking." But scoring on two back-to-back Daily Doubles? Even a genius couldn't program that kind of luck.

Want to watch the ballsiest 60 seconds of Jeopardy-playing in history? And yes, I say this sentence without a hint of irony. (Though, I’m also not counting Norm MacDonald’s Celebrity Jeopardy run as Burt Reynolds. But this one’s on that level.) Here’s Roger Craig (yes, Roger Craig) finding back-to-back Daily Doubles during Jeopardy’s Tournament of Champions this week, risking all of his money both times, and… well, watch the clip and see what happens: (via Reddit)...

Ken Jennings can sleep well again. The Jeopardy! record holder for earnings and consecutive wins will retain his title for a while longer after contender Roger Craig lost on the game show last night. You'll remember Craig as the spooky, affect-free graduate student who set a record last week for single-day earnings. He ends his Jeopardy! run with the third highest winning total ever and plans to celebrate: "I eat a lot of Ramen and pasta so I'm hoping to treat myself to sushi more often." It's the little things. It was a run for the books, but Ken Jennings' book remains on a different shelf altogether. Roger Craig, a 33-year-old PhD student who bested Jennings' record for one-day winnings last week, is now the third-biggest moneymaker in Jeopardy! history after banking $231,200 in seven days of competition, second only to David Madden ($430,400) and ol' KenJen. And third place is where Craig will stay after his run ended Tuesday when he blew a $2,300 lead in Final Jeopardy, leaving Jennings' seemingly unbeatable 76-day total of $2,520,700 safe for the time being. "I had no idea that I became the third highest winner until Alex Trebek announced it," Craig said afterward. "I was totally...

Roger Craig is in pretty elite company. The 33-year-old graduate student at the University of Delaware amassed a seven-day total of $231,200 in cash winnings on "Jeopardy!," the popular trivia game show.
Craig is now the third highest winning contestant on the show (excluding tournaments), behind all-time "Jeopardy!" champ Ken Jennings ($2,520,700) and David Madden ($430,400). Craig also earned the highest one-day total during his second game, where he earned $75,000 and beat a record held by Jennings for more than six years.
"I had no idea that I became the third highest winner until Alex Trebek announced it. I was totally shocked," Craig said in an interview following his final match. "It obviously helped by having set the highest single game record and by my large Daily Double bets."
Craig will earn a Ph.D. in computer science this fall. He plans to use the money to pay off school loans, buy a new car,...

I'm still reeling from Jeopardy! champ Roger Craig's nonchalant domination and record-setting victory last night, even if I'm a little disappointed in his ho-hum demeanor. The best game show moments happen thanks to competitors with zany personality quirks, or at least some darting pupils. In tribute to the freaky fun of this wonderful genre, let us revisit the five weirdest contestants in game show history.

Step aside, Ken Jennings. Your reign as Jeopardy’s highest one-day earner has been usurped! There’s a new sheriff quiz show genius in town. He goes by the name Roger Craig, and on last night’s episode, he took home $77,000, bringing his two-day total to $114,000.
KenJen made a name for himself when he won 74 episodes of Jeopardy! and took home a grand total of $2.52 million back in 2004. Adding onto his feats, Jennings also scored the highest-ever one-day total during his tenure on the show. Since then, no one has been able to topple the trivia king’s record or fame for that matter.

33 year old Delaware graduate student Roger Craig swiped a sweet $77,000 after Final Jeopardy, smashing the $75,000 record set by Ken Jennings during his infamous 74-show winning streak six years ago. Craig had racked up $47,000 in the first two rounds of the game and bet a whopping $30,000 on the Final Jeopardy category "Literary and Movie Title Objects." (Damn, if there was ever a category I'd go all out on, that would be it.)
The Clue: The inspiration for this title object in a novel and a 1957 movie actually spanned the Mae Khlung River.
The (correct) Answer: What is The Bridge on the River Kwai?
Boom. Money in the bank.

33 year-old Roger Craig has dethroned Ken Jennings as "Jeopardy's" highest one-day winner. Jennings had held the record of $75,000 since 2004. Craig, a University of Delaware grad student, surpassed that total, winning $77,000 on the Sept. 14 episode, bringing his two-day total to $114,000. However, Craig has a ways to go before reaching software engineer Ken Jennings overall winnings of $3 million. "Breaking Ken Jennings' record is simply amazing," Craig said. Move over, freakishly consistent Ken Jennings. On Jeopardy! last night, mild-mannered Roger Craig toppled Jennings' single-day earnings record of $75,000 with $77,000 in winnings. What, what! The 33-year-old graduate student locked down the record when he knew "the inspiration for this title object in a novel and a 1957 movie actually spanned the Mae Khlung River," was The Bridge on the River Kwai. Of course the two-day champion still has 72 more days to go before besting Jennings' overall winning streak, but fingers crossed. After the jump watch his completely benign celebration.

It's about time someone became toast of the water cooler again just for being really smart. Roger Craig, a graduate student at the University of Delaware (stay with us...), won $77,000 on tonight's episode of Jeopardy!, thereby besting the one-day record set in 2004 by software engineer Ken Jennings, who went on to win $3,022,700 in 76 appearances. But Jennings only snagged $75,000 in one day. Heading into Final Jeopardy, Craig had $47,000 and wagered $30,000 on the category "Literary & Movie Title Objects." Perhaps a film buff as well, the 33-year-old PhD candidate correctly guessed, "What is The Bridge on the River Kwai?" and made history. So now he has a two-day...
