If you're a resident of the Los Angeles area and a horror fan, then no doubt you're familiar with the Hyaena Gallery located at 1928 Olive Avenue over in beautiful Burbank, California. In the last several years, the gallery along with it's stable of artists have made a name for themselves not only for their unique dark art, but for paying tribute to all the things we love about the horror genre. When they're not showcasing original pieces from their roster of artists, they sometimes focus on theme specific shows such as the 'Scream' exhibit and the 'Psycho' legacy shows they've hosted in prior years back. But right now, for the entire month of March, they're paying tribute to one of the horror director greats. Wes Craven.
"The Wes Craven tribute exhibit was actually something I've been wanting to do at the gallery for quite some time," explains Hyaena Gallery owner and curator Bill Shafer.

Today’s feature includes details on a Wes Craven art exhibition, the first sighting of Megafoot, a 100 zombie films graphical print, first photos from Australian Horror film, Barrow, an interview with actor, writer, and filmmaker Sean Stone, and much more:
The Horror Legacy of Wes Craven Exhibit Details: “Wes Craven has been feeding our collective horror consciousness since 1972, when his first feature, “The Last House on the Left,” debuted. That film was gritty, raw and terrifying, it still causes a guttural reaction some 40 years later. In his career, Wes has created some of the most memorable moments in horror cinema, from the torture scene in “The Serpent and the Rainbow,” to the Johnny Depp’s explosive scene in “A Nightmare on Elm Street,” to the first glimpse of Michael Berryman’s savagery in “The Hills Have Eyes.

What a perfect announcement to make during "Slaughter Week!" Recently during a Scream 4 art/prop expo, yes that was an actual thing, FX artist Gary Tunnicliffe told B-d that Scream 4 will be the goriest film yet. Does that mean were talking over the top Hatchet style deaths here?...
No Hatchet madness here as the FX guru stated that the film would be more in lines with Tarintino's Kill Bill's rather than the over-the-top style. A comparison to Kill Bill is not bad if only they truly mean it. Awfully bold if they do not deliver. Tunnicliffe also goes on to say that there will be a few "extremely" lengthy death scenes along the lines of the infamous opening scene from the original Scream.
Also offered up via Tunnicliffe's protege Skip Crank there are special cameos in the movie that we the audience will have no idea about.

Oh yeah! The word is that Scream 4 will be the bloodiest entry in the horror franchise so far and this makes my black heart happy. Would it be too much to ask for an R rating? Anyway Skip Crank ('Scream 1-4') and special FX makeup artist Gary Tunnicliffe (in his first venture) both told Bloody-Disgusting that Wes Craven didn't skimp on the red stuff at all. Check out what they had to say below. Crank says; "You know, like the poster says, 'new decade, new rules, We got a little bloodier on this one, a little bit more intense". Tunnicliffe then added this; "Every time I walked on set, the camera crew would go, 'oh, no. All [of them] would look down and see what shoes they were wearing that day. Like, 'are my sneakers going to get ruined?' And then of course they would begin binding [everything in] plastic…...

During B-d's visit to a Scream 4 exhibit at Hyaena Gallery in Burbank, CA that featured actual props from the franchise - as well as works from a coterie of artists commissioned to create 'Stab'-inspired pieces to be featured in the film - reporter Chris Eggertsen managed to catch up with prop master Skip Crank ('Scream 1-4') and special effects makeup artist Gary Tunnicliffe (in his first franchise outing) to see what he could get out of them regarding the closely-guarded sequel. Turns out Craven didn't skimp at all on the red stuff, as both men promised this would be the bloodiest entry in the series yet! Crank also indicated there will be some very exciting cameos in the film that no one outside the production has any idea about. Check inside for all the gory details.`...
