Blonde, blue-eyed Hollywood leading lady, initially trained as a dancer. On stage as one of the dancing Paxton Sisters (under her original name Virginia Paxton). Coaxed into acting on screen by Darryl F. Zanuck. Best remembered dancing opposite Fred Astaire in Holiday Inn (1942).
Younger sister, Joey Augusta Paxton, was Miss North Carolina 1941 and a
runner up to Miss America.

Is often credited as being Miss California 1937, as "Phyllis Randall". This was actually actress Virginia Vale who was Miss California 1937.
