- As a film actor, Daniels was best known as the racquetball-playing friend of Oliver Barrett IV Ryan O'Neal in the 1970 film Love Story.
- According to Meadow band mate Chris Van Cleave, in 1976, Cleave returned to New York City after a six-month tour of Jesus Christ Superstar and was to fly the next day to St. Croix and meet his wife. While in New York, he could not locate Daniels, whom he was hoping to be able to spend the night with. He called Daniel's ex-wife Sharon Storm, who told Cleave that Daniel's body had been found in the back alley of the apartment building he was living in. He had somehow fallen from the top of the building and after an investigation, it was ruled to be a suicide.
- In the early 1970's, singer Laura Branigan was attending the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City and working as a waitress until becoming part of a new soft-rock band, Meadow, with acoustic guitarists/vocalists Daniels and Chris Van Cleave, along with bassist Stephen Trees, replaced by Bob Valdez in 1973, which was the year Meadow released their only album, "The Friend Ship," on Paramount Records. The album and their showcase performance at Max's Kansas City garnered strong reviews from the music press, but a change in management at Paramount resulted in a lack of promotion from the label, with one new executives going so far as to deny that the band were available for magazine interviews and live appearances. This came to a head when Paramount told the influential magazine Rolling Stone that the band was not available for an interview. The band found this out and Daniels in particular confronted the Paramount A&R man in question in such a fashion that the incident ended Meadow's relationship with the label. The band soon broke up, after which Daniels' brief marriage also disintegrated. He sank into a depression and eventually committed suicide in January 1976.
