Brandon Davis has been charged with drunk driving in the single car wreck back in October that landed him in the hospital and totaled his Mercedes. Our law enforcement sources say Davis' blood alcohol level was almost twice the legal limit. He was arrested at the hospital while doctors tended to his injuries. Davis, heir to the Marvin Davis oil and entertainment fortune, would ordinarily be placed on probation, but his prior record could change that.

A version of this story first appeared in the May 16 issue of The Hollywood Reporter magazine. The growing boycott of The Beverly Hills Hotel has left event planners scrambling for new locations, forced Hollywood's boldface names to test other lunch spots and even led to speculation that Hassanal Bolkiah, the Sultan of Brunei, might be forced to sell the fabled property he has owned since 1987. "I know and love the people who work there," says Barbara Davis, whose late husband, Marvin Davis, sold the hotel to the sultan for $185 million and who hosts several charity events

News Corp will remain name of publishing sector, while entertainment retains connection to well-known film brand
Rupert Murdoch has decided that when he splits News Corporation into two separately listed companies later this year, the entertainment division should be called 21st Century Fox.
It is a neat twist on the name of the Hollywood movie studio that proved to be one of the foundations of Murdoch's global media empire, Twentieth Century Fox.
That iconic name retains a hold on cinema-goers because all its films open with the familiar searchlight logo and its accompanying fanfare.
More prosaically, but sensibly, the publishing division, which includes all of the company's newspaper titles, will retain the News Corp name when the company's separation occurs in July.
Murdoch explained the thinking behind his choice in an email to employees: "After much exploration, and valuable input from our executive team, we've chosen the name 21st Century...

Sumner Redstone‘s health is an ongoing concern in business circles, and he raised new questions this month when he said that he wouldn’t show at Viacom’s shareholders’ meeting. Troubled U.S. oil heir Jason Davis has slammed his relatives in a bitter statement following his recent drugs bust, suggesting a member of his own family planted narcotics in his home.
The grandson of billionaire businessman Marvin Davis was arrested in Newport Beach, California on Thursday night. He is now facing a charge of possession of a controlled substance and has been released on $20,000 (£13,330) bail, reports TMZ.com.
According to the website, Davis fired off a statement after his release in which he accuses his family of calling cops and releasing details of his arrest to the press in a bid to boost their own public image.
Davis says, "I am shocked that my family would once again alert the police, and media, about a personal family matter simply to promote their own public image. You don't see Charlie Sheen's family calling the cops on him."
And he believes the drugs found by cops may have been part of a cruel set up, adding, "Authorities are investigating whether a certain family member planted the drugs in my home."
Davis' arrest came a day after he appeared on a live reunion episode of Celebrity Rehab, on which he starred last year in a bid to get professional help for his addictions. On the show, which aired in the U.S. on Wednesday, he insisted he had been clean since completing treatment.

Attention celebrity news readers -- Brandon Davis, the 31-year-old oil heir grandson of Marvin Davis, former boyfriend of both actress Mischa Barton and heiress Paris Hilton and utterer of the infamous Lindsay Lohan "fire crotch" comment, is not dead.
TMZ and Perez Hilton both mistakenly reported Saturday (Sept. 25) that Davis died in a gas station explosion in Las Vegas. Remains were found and identified as Brandon Davis -- but it was a 26-year-old Las Vegas resident, not the oil heir.
Our condolences to the family of the actual victim, since the explosion happened almost a week ago and the remains were just found yesterday. How horrible.

Mainly, because the Haunted Mansion is one of my geek obsessions and the Eddie Murphy movie laughed at the very intriguing and Existing plot threads embedded in the Disneyland ride. Despite Walt Disney’s numerous faults (naming names during McCarthyism to bring up the obvious), I like the idea of a man who had enough balls to devise a theme park that went far beyond a carnival, a traveling fair or cheap amusements.Disneyland as an idea, stripped of what it means to be sold childhood memories,...
