Mike Davis is the publisher and editor of the online magazine, Lovecraft eZine. In a short time, Lovecraft eZine has become so popular that it caught the attention and approval of S.T. Joshi, considered by many to be The expert on H.P. Lovecraft. Mike took time out of his busy schedule to share some details about the eZine.
Lovecraft eZine has quickly become one of the most popular and well-respected online and print (Kindle) horror/science fiction mags – even earning S.T. Joshi's stamp of approval. How did the eZine come about?
I've been reading Lovecraftian anthologies for many years. I started to wonder if there were online magazines that published them as well, so I searched and didn't find any. I thought, well, I guess I'll do it then. I knew right away, though, that I didn't want Lovecraft eZine to just be a "fan zine". My goal...

With Halloween and Election Day, it’s a wonder that not too many filmmakers have sought to combine these two special days.
However, Mike Davis has remedied that situation with latest horror comedy President Wolfman, the film that doesn’t force you to choose between the lesser of two evil. It’s just plain evil!
President Wolfman is a “green” movie, recycling the ’70s schlockfest Werewolf of Washington starring Dean Stockwell and combining it with dozens of clips from public domain films to tell the terrifying story of the first ever Potus lycanthrope. But, can the shape-shifting president stop feasting on human flesh long enough to prevent Congress from selling the U.S. to China? One can only hope.

With his second feature now under his belt, filmmaker Mike Davis has definitively proven that his “Green” film movement is a coolly adaptable approach to making highly entertaining movies.
For those not in on it, a “Green” film is one composed entirely of public domain footage strung together with a new storyline. Davis perfected this technique with his first feature, the rollicking but not quite as dirty as it sounds Sex Galaxy, a futuristic romp sourced primarily of an old Russian sci-fi flick.

Los Angeles — Tom Hanks, Jay Leno, Holly Robinson Peete, Loretta Devine and Stevie Wonder were among those who helped celebrate the life of Michael Clarke Duncan during a nearly four-hour memorial service marked by heartfelt speeches, rousing gospel performances and photos of the always-smiling actor.
Hanks and Leno shared stories about "The Green Mile" star at Monday's service. Peete talked about meeting Duncan while he was still a celebrity bodyguard. Devine spoke of how the actor would do anything for a laugh.
Wonder appeared via video, solemnly playing piano and singing the opening verses of his life-affirming song "As" for the man he called "a gentle giant."
Duncan died Sept. 3 at 54, having never fully recovered from a heart attack in July. His physician, who revealed Duncan used a pacemaker, was among the speakers at the service at Forest Lawn Memorial Parks and Mortuaries in Los Angeles.
Former reality TV star the Rev.

The début feature from the writer of 2008's Sexy Galaxy, finally comes to DVD. Following in the footsteps of the diseased low-budget sexploitation film-maker, Russ Meyer, Pervert! serves up plenty of campy humour, eye-poppingly large-breasted ladies and Grindhouse cinematography.
Meat sculpture artist, Hezekiah welcomes his compulsive masturbator son, James (nick-named “Come Quick”), to his remote desert ranch where he can “learn how to become a man”. Widowed, Hezekiah, occupies his time with “two-bit whores with no family”, boasting his latest squeeze, Cheryl is “a woman who can satisfy him in ways [James'] mother never could.” Hezekiah warns James outside is not safe after dark before a series of strange sounds and sitings begin, prompting James to fear for his father's sanity.

Last spring, Judas Priest frontman Rob Halford was in the studio working on material for his new album Halford IV — Made of Metal (in stores this week) when things almost went very wrong.
Halford had noticed his guitarist, co-writer and producer Roy Z was chugging coffee like Gatorade to stay awake after a late night. "Two hours later, we're working on a track and he turns to me and goes, 'Whoa, I have to stop and take a break. My heart's racing. I'm really freaking out here,' " Halford recalled.
Fearing he was having a heart attack, Roy called 911 and an ambulance screeched into the studio parking lot, lights flashing.

Michael Jackson's home has been put up for sale. The Holmby Hills mansion where he died from acute Propofol intoxication in June 2009 is on the market for $29 million and comes complete with 1,26 acres of land.
The King of Pop was renting the vast property in Bel Air, Los Angeles, for $100,000-a-month with his three children, Prince Michael, 13, Paris, 12, and eight-year-old Prince Michael II, also known as "Blanket", while he rehearsed for his "This Is It" London residency.
However, the $29 million price tag is a significant reduction from when the home was first put up for sale in 2008 for $38 million by owner Hubert Guez, who is chief executive of the Ed Hardy fashion brand, prior to the "Thriller" singer's death.
The gated French Chateau-style estate boasts seven bedrooms and 13 toilets, as well as a gym, screening room, spa facilities, a seven-car garage and a wine cellar complete with tasting room.

If recent news reports are to be believed, then Siddharth might be seen in veteran Shyam Benegal’s next movie. As BollySpice had reported earlier, Sid had ‘tweeted’ that his next hindi movie will be announced soon and insiders believe that it most probably is with Benegal. Benegal, who last gave us the lovely Welcome To Sajjanpur, may very well come up with a gem this time as well.
Meanwhile, Siddy boy is busy pursuing his other passion – Music. Having had a Carnatic music training in his childhood, Sid is pretty well versed with the nuances of this art. And he is grateful to his parents for giving him a wide exposure to music; from classical to jazz to pop to rock and what not. Siddharth, who had formed a band in college, has decided to brush up his music skills again which is why he has set up a personal studio.

HollywoodNews.com: California State Assembly member Mike Davis is attempting to open Michael Jackson’s Neverland park to the public.
Digital Spy which has been reading The Daily Telegraph reported the story.
The plan is for Neverland to be a California State memorial park for the late singer in the vein of Elvis Presley’s Graceland and The Heart Castle.
Says Davis: “I am committed to finding out all the details possible to make this a good proposal.”
The state would pursue a public-private partnership given its $19 billion state deficit.
Davis said: “Given that we have an economic shortfall… I suspect it would be difficult for the State Parks Department to purchase the property alone.”

Michael Jackson's Neverland Ranch could become a memorial park for the King of Pop. The late "Bad" hitmaker, who died of acute Propofol intoxication in June 2009, hadn't lived at the address since he was cleared of child molestation charges in 2005, and handed over the estate to Colony Capital LLC, a private equity firm, amid financial worries in 2008.
But now, state assembly member Mike Davis has revealed he proposes to apply to the California State Senate for backing to turn the disused site into a Michael Jackson-style Graceland. Owned partly by the Jackson estate, Neverland currently lies dormant, a far cry from its heyday when the singer wrote many of his greatest hits at the site, complete with zoo and Ferris wheel, and entertained hundreds of children with parties.
However, Mr. Davis suggested as California's budget deficit currently stands at $19 billion, it would be difficult for the State Parks...

Santa Barbara, California (X17online) - Michael Jackson's former home, Neverland, may become a California state park if California state lawmaker Mike Davis has his way. The lawmaker has suggested that the California Department of Parks and Recreation take over the Santa Barbara County ranch. He says one of his main reasons for the suggestion is for the fans to be able to visit the property. Neverland is a 2,500-acre estate that, at one time, had amusement park rides and animals. After Michael's death in 2009, most of the attractions were taken down and sold. Back in 2008, Michael Jackson signed over control of Neverland to Colony Capital for a reported $35 million. The company co-owns the property with the Jackson family. According to Davis, he may introduce a resolution or bill this August regarding Neverland becoming a state park.

London, July 15 – The former home of Michael Jackson could be turned into California’s latest state park.
The idea has been pitched by assemblyman Mike Davis, who wants to convert Jackson’s 2,500-acre estate – which once housed amusement park rides and a zoo with tigers and snakes.
According to him, NAACP president Alice Huffman and others approached him with the idea.
Colony Capital LLC, a Santa Barbara-based private equity firm, co-owns the estate with the Jackson family, after he had nearly lost it to foreclosure.

The real question facing Haiti isn't whether to rebuild the capital or move it inland; it's how do you build a city that creates opportunities instead of slums?
Haiti isn't just the world's most pressing case of disaster recovery following last month's earthquake. It's the place most in need of some instant city-building.
Port-au-Prince--home to two million inhabitants and a fifth of Haiti's population--is effectively leveled. The United Nations estimates 75% of the city will need to be rebuilt, with 500,000 people still sleeping in the streets. Others have moved out of the city and into emergency tents, lean-tos, and shelters. The International Organization for Migration told The New York Times last week that it could be five years before residents move back into houses, and that they could look forward to living in glorified "garden sheds" until then.
So far, the debate has focused on whether displaced capital-dwellers should permanently relocate.

(Oh, and you can vote for your favorite in the poll after the jump!) 20. Holly Hardin: "Guitar Girl" actually delivered a meaty vocal on "You Ain't Woman Enough to Take My Man." But will the judges (and the viewing public) be able to get past that cutesy/annoying first...

Pervert is an unashamed homage to the skin flicks of the 60's and 70's particular the genres godfather Russ Meyer. Is really just good ole fashion soft-core fun and titillation with large slice of humour.
