- It may be the boy on HBO's "Girls" whose career is getting the sweetest boost. Adam Driver, who plays Lena Dunham's sometimes-boyfriend on the Emmy-nominated breakout show, is headed to Australia to star opposite Mia Wasikowska in John Curran's "Tracks." The film is based on Australian Robyn Davis' 1970s memoir of the same name, inspired by her National Geographic articles. It follows Davis (Wasikowska) as she embarks on a 1700-mile trek across the Outback. Driver will play NY photographer Rick Smolan. Driver already has Spielberg's "Lincoln" and the Coens' "Inside Llewyn Davis" in the pipeline; 2012 has been good to him. - Screenwriter Stephen Gaghan ("Traffic," "Syriana") is set to direct his script "Candy Store," a crime thriller being produced by Lionsgate.
