After a father in California was given the devastating news that his son had died, he and his family planned a funeral and began to grieve. That was until they discovered about two weeks later that he was still very much alive.
Frank Kerrigan was told by the Orange County coroner’s office on May 6 that the body of his 57-year-old son, Frank Jr., had been positively identified by his fingerprints.
“I got the phone call a few minutes later,” Frank Jr.’s sister, Carole Kerrigan, tells People. “It’s obviously the worst news that a loved one could get.

Looks like Mike Huckabee is about to experience the thrill of the legal fight — whether he wants to or not. Former Arkansas governor and current Gop presidential candidate Huckabee is being sued for using the Survivor song “Eye of the Tiger” during a September appearance in support of controversial county clerk Kim Davis. The suit, filed in federal court in Illinois on Wednesday by Rude Music — operated by founding Survivor member and “Eye of the Tiger” co-author Frank M. Sullivan III — claims that Huckabee violated the copyright of the song by allowing it to play when he escorted...

It’s time for the Oscars of the comic book world! Awards shows like these are always controversial, of course, and hardly definitive when it comes to “the best” of anything. However, like the Oscars, the Eisners have a tendency to focus on small print, relatively obscure titles in addition to mainstream ones, thus expanding the small books’ audiences and proving that nothing has to be a blockbuster to be awesome.
I’ve gathered a smattering of major categories together for all you monster kids that feature titles I’ve raved about in previous columns and reviews. (I’m damn well amazed that Batman didn’t make the cut, but I’m not on any committee, am I?) Also, check out that Image mojo! Dang! Marvel and DC had better watch their backs…

For over a decade, fans of the Coen Brothers cult classic "The Big Lebowski" have been telling everyone they could find that the film is a masterpiece. But now, thanks to painter Joe Forkann, the film actually is a masterpiece. Literally.
In fact, Forkan has turned the film into a whole series of masterpieces, thanks to "The Lebowski Cycle," which re-imagines key scenes from the movie as if they had been painted by the ancient masters of the art world. You know what they say: Caravaggio abides.
The product of over five years' work, "The Lebowski Cycle" -- which includes pieces inspired by the likes of Caravaggio, Rubens, Titian and Velazquez among others -- is currently on display at the Frank M. Doyle Arts Pavilion at Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa, California. But if you can't make it there before the show ends on October 28, don't worry, because the...

Joe Forkan is a painter based in California. Since 2006, he's been working on paintings simultaneously inspired by The Big Lebowski and the work of old masters like Caravaggio, Rubens, Titian, and Velazquez. My favorite's the Rubens-inspired number above, titled "The Lamentation," but you can check out a bunch of them over at Uproxx, and if you happen to live near Costa Mesa, CA, you can go see them in person at the Frank M. Doyle Arts Pavilion. Here's a question: is this "high art?" Do those distinctions even matter anymore? Forkan's statement is certainly high-minded: ...I struggled with the idea of making narrative paintings. Film and television have largely overtaken painting as the mediums for narrative approaches, and contemporary painters have largely focused their attentions elsewhere. Yet I have still found myself moved by paintings that depicted grand story arcs, compressing [...]...

New films by Carpenter, Craven & Romero; The conclusion to arguably one of the most successful franchises ever; and a remake of one of the Universal Monsters we grew up on headlined the horror film slate for 2010. Here it is the end of this year and the overall verdict for the genre that we dedicate whole rooms in our house to is passable, as 2010 certainly has had its ups and downs...
Horror Stood strong this year, not giving in to the dreaded MPAA (the ratings board). From director Adam Green (Hatchet II) to Steven R. Monroe (I Spit On Your Grave) horror went into theaters without being picked to death to achieve an R rating. We obviously wish we could say it worked and the films went on to become huge successes. Unfortunately these films were treated as if they belonged more in a sleazy adult movie bin rather than at the local cinemas.

Just how much privacy do we have these days? Director David Bond decides to find out on a personal level by attempting to disappear for 30 days in the documentary Erasing David.
With a wife and child at home, he plans to leave home and avoid two trained investigators who will try to chase him down. In the beginning, Frank M. Ahearn, privacy consultant and co-author of How to Disappear (Volume 1) advises Bond of ways he can be tracked and just how easily surveillance can be initiated. But the comical interludes with Ahearn set up some very real and understandable paranoia.
Erasing David picks up where Ondi Timoner's We Live in Public leaves off -- instead of choosing to live in public and seeing the results, Bond focuses on a relatively ordinary life and how invasive the lack of data privacy is within the Information Age.

Story / Robert Pattinson: I need to disappear / Click here Robert Pattinson says he has not yet found "one place in the world yet where I could disappear." Well, we have the solution for him. Ireland! An international witness protection experts says Ireland is one of the best places to flee to for a brand new life. Frank M. Ahearn, who specializes in “disappearing people,” says "Ireland and Dublin particularly is a great place to disappear. I always recommend it,” he said. “It's a real melting pot of cultures so it's easy to blend in. It's not too difficult for people to acclimatize and it's not too expensive. Also, it's quite a safe place on the scale of things. We can't guarantee anything. But no one I've helped disappear has ever been found.” Ahearn is a former “skip tracer,” or someone who’s hired to seek out people who have...
