A funny thing happened on the way to a movie parody getting a sequel: the original inspiration will be rebooted. Let us explain. Debuting in September 1985, MacGyver became a modest success in its first season, despite being programmed on Sunday evening opposite Steven Spielberg's Amazing Stories, which itself was not the breakout hit many expected. While Amazing Stories wavered in quality as an anthology show from week to week, MacGyver developed a solid groove, led by Richard Dean...

In NBC’s latest “Ask Tina” webisode, Tina Fey and “American treasure Richard Dean” — 30 Rock’s makeup artist who showed up this past season as the creepy neighbor who always wakes Liz with a kiss — discussed the star’s plans for the summer. It’s not working on a chain gang or becoming best friends with Ina Garten in the Hamptons, but she claims her summer job is her “second calling.” Watch below, and remember to thank her the next time you swallow too much water at Dorney Park.

We're suckers for a little nostalgia, so when we came across this circa 1990 ABC promo spot -- featuring stars of ABC's past including Neil Patrick Harris ("Doogie Howser"), Richard Dean Anderston ("MacGyver"), Kyle MacLachlan ("Twin Peaks"), Alyssa Milano ("Who's the Boss"), Fred Savage ("The Wonder Years"), the entire "Full House" crew (including at least one teensy Olsen twin), Roseanne (who is surrounded by a bevy of mini-clones), the animated "Beetlejuice" and those lovable cut-ups from "Perfect Strangers" -- well, we knew we were going to watch it at least once.
After repeated viewings, we don't hesitate one bit in encouraging you to do the same.
Also be on the look-out for clips short-lived sitcoms "Baby Talk" (starring George Clooney!), "Cop Rock" (ahead of its time) and "Going Places" (it went nowhere).

Henry Winkler. I could write a dozen openings for this but really, all I need to say is Henry Winkler!
He’s a TV icon; the leather jacket he wore as ‘Fonzie’ is on display in the Smithsonian. He’s a successful producer (MacGyver), written several books and has managed to stay away from being typecast.
He’s now recurring on the hit USA show, Royal Pains. His character, ‘Eddie Lawson’, is the father of Hank (Mark Feuerstein) and Evan (Paulo Costanzo) and he loves playing the character.
Henry’s a really great guy and if you get a chance, you should listen to the audio portion of the interview. He talks about his character, working on Royal Pains, what’s going on with Arrested Development and so much more!
Royal Pains airs on Thursdays at 9/8c on USA.

Hey,
Here's a great conference call interview with Henry Winkler which I've chopped out all of the unnecessary parts but left in lots of the random questions people asked him. He was incredibly friendly and wanting to talk to everyone, including a great moment where he was told that everyone could only ask him one question and he asked a couple of people "Do you have any other questions to ask?" so they could ask something else.
As the questions are in the order they were asked, it jumps about a bit between Royal Pains, his life as an actor and other ventures, including Arrested Development.
I hope you enjoy!
How did you initially get involved with working on Royal Pains?
If I’m not mistaken this is exactly how it happened. The producer, Andrew, was sitting at dinner and next to him was my dentist and his wife. They...

Johnson Beharry has revealed that he is being supported by numerous members of the armed forces in Dancing On Ice, including a man he helped save in the war zone. While practicing for the ITV reality show, the soldier was reunited with Lieutenant Richard Dean, one of the men he rescued during the Iraq war in an act of bravery that earned him the Victoria Cross in 2005. Beharry told The Sun: "Richard came down to see me during rehearsals. I hadn't seen him for a long time and it was nerve-racking. "He is really impressed by what I've been doing on the show. Hopefully I'll make it past this Sunday and then I'll get him down here... I've got a lot of support from inside the (more)...

Lee Zlotoff, creator of the 1980s TV series “MacGyver,” is not too happy with Will Forte’s upcoming parody movie MacGruber and is pursuing legal options to stop the April 23 release.
A source for Latino Review says Zlotoff is looking to not only shut the $15 million comedy down, but possibly require a large sum of money to be slid across a table in his direction, preferably in a silver briefcase that even Richard Dean couldn’t crack.
The elongated “Saturday Night Live” skit falls under the broad fair use clause that balances free speech against the rights of intellectual property holders. Zlotoff’s lawsuit likely includes unfair competition claims, according to legal resources for the Hollywood Reporter, since Zlotoff’s MacGyver movie was announced at New Line months before Lorne Michaels had the bright idea to spin off another unfunny skit onto the screen.
Cease-and-desist letters are out from Zlotoff’s attorney.
