Amapola Del Vando was born on February 1, 1910 in Seville, Spain. She was an actress, known for The Bionic Woman (1976), Outside the Law (1956) and Airwolf (1984). She was married to William W. Gohl and William H. Gohl. She died on February 25, 1988 in Lake View Terrace, Los Angeles, California, USA.
Spanish composer Joseph LaCalle wrote the song "Amapola" ("Poppy" in Spanish) for her in 1924. It became internationally famous, with English lyrics by Albert Gamse, through Jimmy Dorsey's hit recording in 1941.
She came to the United States with her mother at the age of 9.
She was a graduate of the University of Southern California.
