All good things must end, and that axiom rings especially true for the quirky, fan-favorite Max original series Doom Patrol. The show releases the second half of its fourth and final season this October, with six brand-new episodes after a nine-month mid-season hiatus that began this past January. Adapting the DC Comics’ superhero team of the same name created by Arnold Drake, Bob Haney, and Bruno Premiani, Doom Patrol has leaned into the most absurd possibilities of the genre, combined with the heartbreak that comes with being transformed into a misfit hero through horrifically weird science.
However, more than just examining the peculiarities of being a superhero, Doom Patrol has the bizarre distinction of being a program caught between shuffling streaming platforms, confusing shared universe connections, all while trying to tell its own story across four seasons. And frankly, for a team as unorthodox and weird as the Doom Patrol is,...

Horror novelist and Horrornews.net contributor William Burke has launched his new YouTube series, The Cult Movie Museum, offering fans a quick dive into a world of unique, amazing, but often forgotten films.
“I wanted to create a guide for fans of eclectic films that was concise, useful and entertaining. Most of the shows I’ve seen on the YouTube platform are either too long, too sarcastic or just plain mean spirited. Plus, a thirty-minute review of a seventy-minute film is pure self-indulgence. I keep the episodes to around six minutes, so the viewer gets the information they need, while being entertained. Then they can track down the films and make their own choices.”
While The Cult Movie Museum features celebrated films like The Beyond and The Abominable Dr. Phibes, it also spotlights forgotten gems like Lemora: A Child’s Tale of the Supernatural and The Flesh Eaters.

Twenty years ago, the idea of a Guardians of the Galaxy movie was absurd. The team was a ragtag bunch of weirdos, disconnected from the main Marvel Universe as it was set almost a thousand years in the future, with odd powers, strange enemies, and a vaguely sci-fi adventure milieu. But something flipped in 2006, kicking off a chain of events that concludes with the final chapter in arguably the most beloved individual franchise in the MCU: Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

Doomsday is drawing near in the latest installment of HBO Max‘s Doom Patrol.
The trailer for Season 4, which was released Tuesday, Mark Sheppard’s Willoughby Kipling warns: “Something very big and very dangerous is headed our way. Immortus is real, and it’s coming. We are wandering into the literal end of days as we speak.”
The Immortus Project appears to be a looming threat, explained only as the pursuit for immortality. It’s not clear what big bad the Doom Patrol will be facing, but it may have something to do with the DC supervillain General Immortus, who was introduced in the 1950s as an enemy of the Doom Patrol. In the trailer, the group eventually comes to the conclusion that the only way to win is to travel back in time.

We still remember the scary Am radio ads from back in the 6th grade: They Eat Human Flesh! Mainstream ‘nabe theaters that wouldn’t show Herschell Gordon Lewis movies played this proto-gore horror show, an ingeniously crafted thriller that captures the horror comic vibe with clever, gruesome special effects. The flesh eaters are glittering bits of organic matter that can skeletonize a human in fifteen seconds! Martin Kosleck’s mad doctor is happy to welcome tasty human morsels for his ravenous home-grown microbes. An alternate version slides into sleaze territory with a tasteless flashback to a Nazi ‘medical experiment.’ The best extra is a long-awaited audio commentary, recorded for an earlier disc that was never released.

For most fans, the Guardians of the Galaxy consist of five to eight members. There’s the main team of Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket, and Groot, and sometimes Yondu, Nebula, and Mantis. But comic fans have been waiting for another player to be added to the team, one who has been teased in both of the Guardians movies. Cosmo the Spacedog was seen briefly in the Collector’s cell in the first movie before joining Howard the Duck for the post-credit sequence. He was initially intended to be in Avengers: Infinity War but was cut for time, leaving a brief shot in the Guardians Vol. 2 credits as his last appearance.
But a recent Twitter post by director James Gunn gives fans hope for something more. Earlier today, Gunn posted photos of a wrap gift he received from members of the crew. The photo shows eight holiday ornaments, each displaying a Guardian.

If you were a kid anytime from 2003 forward, you likely grew up with green-skinned shapeshifter Garfield Mark "Gar" Logan, who first joined the New Teen Titans under the alias Changeling but who's better known, especially to 21st-century TV audiences, as Beast Boy.
DC introduced a shapeshifter named Beast Boy in September 1964's "Adventure Comics" #324. That incarnation was as an alien from the planet Lallor who turned villain, then hero, before being killed off in "Adventure Comics" #339. About a year later, Arnold Drake and artist Bob Brown created Garfield Logan, who debuted as a different Beast Boy in "Doom Patrol" #99. The goal, as Drake explained...

“Doom Patrol” has cast “The Flight Attendant” and “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” alum Michelle Gomez, HBO Max announced on Wednesday.
The actress will join the upcoming third season as a series regular, playing Madame Rouge. The character is described as “a complicated and electrifying eccentric who arrives at Doom Manor with a very specific mission… if only she could remember it.”
The DC Comics version of Madame Rouge was created by Arnold Drake and first appeared in “Doom Patrol” back in the 1960s. The character is a French stage actress who becomes a master of disguise for the Brotherhood of Evil.
Gomez’s casting comes ahead of the third season of “Doom Patrol,” which will be the first to premiere as an HBO Max exclusive. The series was moved to HBO Max last year along with several other DC Universe originals, including the animated “Harley Quinn” and the flagship “Titans” series.

Jeremy Carver has big things planned for Doom Patrol season 2. Literally.
The first season of the DC Universe series about super powered, and always bickering, misfits ended with most of the team shrunk to action-figure size. With the sophomore outing of the series debuting June 25, executive producer and showrunner Carver thinks it’s time for the characters to grow: physically and emotionally.
Along with waging war against near-omnipotent villain Mr. Nobody, as well as an apocalyptic cockroach, the team of outsider superheroes fought their internal demons, and one another, in a season that was comedic, surprisingly poignant, and delightfully bizarre.
Bizarre is part of the Doom Patrol DNA. Based on the DC comic created in 1963 by writers Arnold Drake, and Bob Haney, and artist Bruno Premiani, the book about Robotman, Negative Man, and Elasti-Girl took an even more eccentric direction when writer Grant Morrison took over in 1989. Morrison’s run...

The arrival of WarnerMedia’s new streaming service, HBO Max, may have come with a little brand confusion here or there. But it’s hard to argue that the consolidation of all of Warner’s content onto one Internet hub hasn’t created opportunities for some HBO and/or Warner fans to branch outside their usual content comfort zone.
Now Warner is set to expand that comfort zone a little more by making some episodes of HBO Max’s Doom Patrol available to all for free in advance of the show’s second season premiere. On Monday, June 22 at 7:30 p.m. Et/4:30 p.m. Pt, the first three episodes of Doom Patrol season 1 will be available on DC and Rooster Teeth’s YouTube channels outside of HBO Max’s paywall

Doom Patrol Episode 6 delves into Niles Caulder's backstory with an excellent X-Men/The Shining mashup.
This Doom Patrol review contains spoilers.
Doom Patrol Episode 6
In a creepy as hell episode that evokes The Shining (and then calls it out), this week Doom Patrol visits a superhero haunted house of sorts to examine the disturbing fallout of fighting of evil. But while “Doom Patrol Patrol” reveals Niles Caulder is not so great at managing his past, we also see Rita, coming to terms with their past, and choose to move beyond it.
Each week Doom Patrol seems to get better, and this week is no different in setting itself apart as another highlight in a consistently strong series. The overall mission to save The Chief is uneven because it never feels like our heroes make any progress, and they just seem to be flitting into situations without really driving the action.

Welcome to “TV Take,” Variety’s television podcast. In this week’s episode, Variety’s executive editor of TV, Daniel Holloway, talks with Jeremy Carver, showrunner of the new series “Doom Patrol,” which is currently streaming on the DC Universe platform.
Based on the weird 1960s comic series created by Arnold Drake, “Doom Patrol” stars Brendan Fraser, Matt Bomer, Diane Guerrero and April Bowlby as four outcasts who have each suffered a traumatic event which has also granted them super powers. They are all rescued and given a home by Dr. Niles Caulder (Timothy Dalton); however, after their mentor is kidnapped by the evil Mr. Nobody (Alan Tudyk), they must band together with Cyborg (Joivan Wade) to rescue Dr. Caulder.
Carver admits that while he was somewhat of a super hero fan, he had never heard of “Doom Patrol” prior to being approached by the show’s producers, Greg Berlanti,...

The cast of DC Universe's Doom Patrol talks the Grant Morrison-iverse, chaotic order, and yes...that talking cockroach.
The following contains light spoilers for the pilot of Doom Patrol, which is available to stream on DC Universe now.
When describing to friends what makes his new superhero series unique, Doom Patrol star Alan Tudyk knows the moment they’ll blink themselves out of polite half-attention, lean forward and say “wait…what?”
“When I mention the donkey that farts sky writing it stops them,” he says.
Yes, as the weird-seekers among you may know by now, DC Universe’s Doom Patrol’s pilot concludes with the donkey familiar of Tudyk’s villainous Mr. Nobody farting and releasing gas into the sky that spells out “The mind is the limit.” There’s a born-again Evangelical talking cockroach thrown in there for good measure too.

We already have The Avengers and Justice League, but none of those superhero teams feature Brendan Fraser as a robot.
Enter “Doom Patrol,” the second live-action TV series from the DC Comics-branded streaming service, DC Universe. When the series premieres on Friday, think of them as more like a “Justice League” of misfits.
“‘Doom Patrol’ is a lot more like the misfits,” Sarah Schechter, an executive producer for the series, told TheWrap. “A lot of them — not necessarily Cyborg — but a lot of them would be side characters [in other series] and [we] let them be heroes of their own story, and see all the weird, really weird, wonderful places it goes.”

The Doom Patrol, the World's Strangest Heroes, are coming to DC Universe. Here's everything you need to know...
The Doom Patrol is an odd team to give a show to. At this point, they’re probably best known in the popular consciousness for starting Beast Boy’s career and then dying. Repeatedly. But they’re kind of a big deal, both in continuity and as an artifact of comics history. Why? Well aren’t you glad we’re here to tell you!
The World’s Strangest Heroes are a dense, intricate bunch, but we’ve examined them closely and are happy to introduce you to them ahead of their arrival on DC Universe.
Who Is The Doom Patrol?
Arnold Drake, Bob Haney and Bruno Premiani introduced the Doom Patrol in the pages of My Greatest Adventure in 1963. Titans did a surprisingly good job of summing the Doom Patrol...
