- He has since reprised the role as Sonic the Hedgehog in the fan-made audio series Sonic and Tails R (2020).
- He is good friends with his "Forever Plaid" co-star, David Humphrey. He also helped him get the role of Shadow the Hedgehog in Sonic Adventure 2 (2001).

- He originally wanted to voice Sonic in 4Kids Entertainment's English language dub Sonic X (2003). 4Kids Entertainment denied to hire him because he didn't reside in New York City. He did offered to move to New York City so he could reprise the role, but 4Kids Entertainment also declined that too. Instead, they hired Jason Griffith, who later became his succeeder.
- In a 2011 interview, Drummond stated that Sega offered him a chance to re-audition to voice a third version of Sonic from the Dreamcast era that was originally planned for Sonic Generations (2011). But he later turned it down because Sega didn't offer him a union contract.
- He stated that his favorite Sonic video game is Sonic Adventure (1998).
- His Sonic voice was reused in the Sonic 20th Anniversary trailer, titled, Sonic Anniversary - Through the Ages.
- He is the bass vocalist of the music group, "The A.Y.U. Quartet". The group has released three music albums.
- While auditioning for the role Sonic in Sonic Adventure (1998), he auditioned for every role in the game, including Big the Cat. The Sega team liked his voice interpretation for Big the Cat, but the role was eventually given to Jon St. John.
- He has no relation to voice actor Brian Drummond.
- He has also stated that he has no tension between him and his succeeders Jason Griffith and Roger Craig Smith. However, both he and Jason Griffith are really good friends.
- After Roger Craig Smith departed from the role of Sonic in January 2021, he was in talks with Sega and asked about returning to the role again after seventeen years. But Smith announced his return as Sonic in May 2021.
- He is the only Sonic voice actor to not have voiced Sonic in any television related projects.
- He landed his first video game voice acting job as Sheldon the Turtle in the Lightspan Adventures Educational video game, The Three Decoders: Riddle of the Ring and its sequel, The Three Decoders: Key to the Carousel. It was there that a studio engineer who worked on the game, knew someone from Sega's casting team and recommended him to audition for Sonic the Hedgehog.
- He has used his regular natural voice as the voice for Knuckles the Enchidna in Sonic Shuffle (2000) and for Eliot Ballade in Blue Stinger (1999).
- He also performs sketch and Improvisational comedy work, such as a clown and a mine artist.
