The action in upcoming mystery thriller “The Reunion,” starring “Harrow’s” Ioan Gruffudd, centers on three characters in two time-zones, 25 years apart, but the emotions and personalities of the characters are consistent, the show’s British director Bill Eagles explained at the Monte-Carlo Television Festival Sunday.
The English-language show, produced by Sydney Gallonde at Make It Happen Studio and co-produced by MGM Intl. TV Productions and broadcaster France Televisions, is based on Guillaume Musso’s bestselling novel “La Jeune fille et la nuit.”
The story opens in the present day, at a reunion at an international school in the south of France where three former friends reconnect. They grew apart and lost touch, but they are still bound by a tragic secret tied to the disappearance of a fellow student 25 years ago.
Although Eagles acknowledged that having the same characters in two time-zones presented challenges, the key to overcoming them lay in the novel.

Jamie Bamber joins the cast of Strike Back and fills us in on his damaged new character.
Section 20 is back once again for Strike Back: Revolution, which can only mean more gunfights, car chases, one-liners and needless property destruction. It’s a formula that’s worked well throughout the show's run, so there’s no reason to stop now.
This season (billed as Strike Back season 6 in the U.S. and season 7 in the U.K.), which is now airing on Cinemax, opens with Mac (Warren Brown), Wyatt (Daniel MacPherson) and Gracie (Alin Sumarwata) being reactivated to chase down a stolen nuclear warhead. This season will also dig a little deeper into the personal lives of the team. Jamie Bamber (Battlestar Galactica) joins the cast this year, playing Section 20’s new commanding officer Alexander Coltrane. Gotham Season 1, Episode 18: ‘Everyone Has A Cobblepot’
Written by Megan Mostyn-Brown
Directed by Bill Eagles
Aired Mondays at 8pm (Et) on Fox
This week’s episode of Gotham follows up “Red Hood” just after Alfred’s wounding, which brings a reunion between Gordon and Bruce. But instead of progressing Bruce’s story, this episode prolongs their separation again for another week so that Gordon can make some genuine headway in establishing some order within the Gcpd. This has been an ongoing process for Gordon in making a change to the corrupt system, and his effect on it has been gradual, as every time Gordon thinks he has made a significant achievement, he finds that he has only cured a symptom and not the cause. This has been a beat that Gotham has repeated a few times during this second half of the season, and it’s almost to the point of being overly repetitive,...

Leave it to Gotham to chase one of its best episode with one of its worst. At its best, "Everyone Has a Cobblepot" pushes the series' plot along, though usually in the most predictable way. Tonight's investigation-of-the week plot is the exception that proves that rule (more on that shortly). But for the most part, "Everyone Has a Cobblepot" is an untenable tonal stew. Let's start with the best of tonight's subplots, and end with the worst.Jim Gordon's search for evidence that he can use against Commissioner Loeb is mostly decent, thanks in no small part to episode writer Karen Mostyn-Brown and director Bill Eagles. Two scenes where Gordon confronts Loeb are also tense, thanks to actors Ben McKenzie and Peter Scolari. McKenzie is especially exciting to watch; he makes Gordon's default De Niro–esque posturing — hands on hip and eyes rolling every way but up — work. But the...

4.4 Evolve Or Die
So, the Espheni have tried all sorts of ways to get control of the earth. They did their doomsday bombing runs that destroyed major cities, they've sent skittering monsters after humans, they've sent giant mechanical robots after them, they've stuck fashionable spinewear onto the kids, they've sent roving air ships after them, they've tried to brainwash them, and they've rounded them up into concentration camps. Every weapon, every method, every technique to win or rip out hearts and minds just hasn't worked out, unlike with the Volm and all the other races the Espheni have captured or turned into skitters.
This week, they seem to be turning to a new experimental weapon. Not the space shields and atmosphere burning thing from last season, but something... make...

This week's DVD and Blu-ray offerings are no longer a cash-sucking onslaught like the last few weeks, which does make it easier for our wallets.
First up, Centurion, Neil Marshall's fun epic, is finally available for us to take home, and we can definitely recommend it with good conscience. Also, series and movies from TV and their dead-tree companions are out, and they are surprisingly decent in this batch. (Well, one re-release is surely capitalizing on the popularity of its actor, and we bet you can figure out which one that is.) Finally, don't forget the duo release of a couple of Roger Corman flicks!
