The film was announced May 24 with Franco Nero directing and starring in the lead role, Spacey starring in the supporting role of a police detective and actress, and Nero’s wife Redgrave also starring in the movie.

News that Kevin Spacey has been cast in his first movie since several allegations of sexual misconduct were made against him starting in 2017 has ignited fury across social media and the film industry. Spacey is set to appear as a sex abuse investigator in a new film by Italian actor and director Franco Nero titled “L’uomo Che Disegno Dio.” Nero is also starring in the movie, as is his wife Vanessa Redgrave. In a statement to CNN, the film’s producer, Louis Nero, defended Spacey’s casting by saying he believes the accusations are “false,” adding, “I cast him because he is a great actor.”
Franco Nero shared similar sentiments when Spacey’s casting was first announced over the weekend, saying in a statement, “I’m very happy Kevin agreed to participate in my film. I consider him a great actor and I can’t wait to start the movie.

Two more men have come forward accusing Kevin Spacey of sexual misconduct, telling People that Star Trek: Discovery actor Anthony Rapp alleging that Spacey made inappropriate sexual advances towards him when he was just 14 inspired them to go public, too.
A representative for the 58-year-old House of Cards star told People that Spacey is “is taking the time necessary to seek evaluation and treatment.”
Kris Nixon, a 30-year-old bartender from Belfast, Northern Ireland, says he was working at the Lounge34 cocktail bar in the Waterloo district of London, where Spacey frequented while serving as artistic director of the Old Vic Theatre.

The floodgates have now opened.
In light of last Sunday’s “deeply troubling” accusation, in which Star Trek: Discovery‘s Anthony Rapp claimed Kevin Spacey tried to “seduce” him when he was only 14-years-old, the disgraced House of Cards actor now faces more allegations of sexual misconduct.
Deadline reports that three men have come forward with unpleasant stories about the Oscar winner, with accusations ranging from “cringey” encounters to sexual harassment while on set. BuzzFeed‘s got the full accounts of each of the three individuals, but here’s the gist of it.
First, there’s Justin Dawes, who says when he was 16, and Spacey was 29, the American Beauty star invited him and a friend over to watch Chinatown. When they got there, though, the actor gave them drinks and played pornography. Describing the situation as “sleazy and manipulative,” nothing else happened as Dawes and his friend left once they realized what was going on.
